Matt D'Avella

Matt D'Avella

Hi my name is Matt. I made a documentary a few years back called Minimalism that trended on Netflix and now I make KZread videos. Some people (Jeff) would consider this a huge step backwards and a massive failure (Jeff) but I'm honestly pretty happy with how things turned out. Also Jeff is an asshole. If you like learning about things like minimalism, happiness, productivity, biceps, dodging existential dread, eating food, talking shit about Jeff or overthinking everything, then you're in the right place. Please subscribe so my mother-in-law thinks this is a better career choice than being a doctor.

I'm on my own again.

I'm on my own again.

Matt, every video: “Here’s what I did for x amount of time” “Here’s what I learned” “Also, I won’t be doing this going forward” 😂 Classic!! Great upload.

If you want the same experience with your smartphone all you have to do is turn on the maximum power saving mode. It limits you from being able to use social media. It only allows you to listen to Spotify and brows the web as well as talk and text.

I downgraded from my galaxy s21 ultra to my old note 9. Best decision I've ever made. The note 9 was the best galaxy device ever released period.

I think the rule for protein is 1g per kg of body weight, not 1g per lb of body weight. 1g per lb is an insane amount of protein!

You are rotating your right foot during squat little bit more than your left foot which is exactly what I used to do and the result was pain in my right knee during heavy squats. It went away when I made sure my feet are in same angle. Just a tip if you experience similar thing.

I appreciate your vulnerability. It’s important to pause and ask yourself, “Why am I doing this?” Is it for me? Is it for what other people expect of me? I’m confident great things are in store for you!

At the moment I am trying 20/4 - I don’t find fasting that hard - kind of a state of mind - when I get a craving I just remind myself of my eating window - 20/4 won’t last but will try for as long as I can and go back to 18/6

Powerlifting is very scary if you didn't practice. At the very best, you would dislocate your shoulders. Don't get me started on what's worse than that (perforated lungs on bench press, broken rib cage, spine tear etc..)

This is exactly how I like to live! I have minimal clothes, eat the same breakfast, lunch and dinner every single day. It’s always nice to , once a week, treat myself to a nice meal inside or outside the house. It makes me appreciate all the little things so much more! I think there’s too much food choice out there. Keep it simple !

Hey Matt, I've been watching your channel for over 3 years already and I absolutely love the variety of content on your channel. Your way of deliverance is really catchy and entertaining! Your videos gave me a lot of conscience over this time and I much much appreciate it! I've been doing powerlifting myself for over 5 years and never competed until last autumn. I can totally feel that spirit of the competition through your video! You've done a great job! I was really encouraged when you WENT ALL IT with your last attempts!!! It's was nuts! You've nailed it for sure! I also got 2nd place (out of 4) and a memory medal! As you've said, I came there not to win but to compete with myself and push forward! Cheers from Russia! And happy powerlifting💪🏻
