Boring = less stress and less drama. As a hardcore introvert that has been dealing with pretty severe depression and anxiety on a near everyday basis for 12 or so years now, "boring" is definitely my thing. I get excitement out of watching the squirrels play tag with each other in my back yard and that's really all I need for entertainment. Screw everyone else and their expectations.

I never realized this until I went on vacation recently to Hawaii. While I loved the scenery, beaches, food, locals etc. Coming back home I wasn’t really sad to leave… if anything I felt kind of happy to get home and back to my routine. I felt like something was wrong with me tho because I was looking forward to going home and my vacation was over. This video really let me realize that I already have a life I like. It’s simple, but I do things I like everyday. These last few days on social media have made me feel like I’m missing out on life, that I should be traveling more, dating more, make more friends etc and I was feeling like a failure, but again I’ve come to realize is that my life is pretty much how I want it. Sure there are goals that I want to achieve like getting my own home or switching jobs, but overall I don’t dread my life and I didn’t dread coming back to it after my vacation. Thanks for the video! 😊
I’m 27 and I live a simple single mom life. I do the same things everyday and never get bored. Love my own company and don’t have much friends. My family thinks I’m the most boring person they ever met because I never go out to party or drink. I eat healthy and always by myself. Well, some may call it boring or weird, but this is PEACE❤️ Alot of ppl cannot stay by themselves. I love this life

Choosing stability and simplicity can be a profound act of self-care, allowing us to focus on what truly matters and cultivate a sense of contentment. Moreover, it offers a chance to embrace a slower pace, savoring the small joys and finding beauty in the everyday. I appreciate this thought-provoking perspective, as it encourages us to challenge societal norms and embrace our authentic selves. Each person's definition of a fulfilling life is unique, and there's no "one-size-fits-all" approach to happiness.

It’s good to see Matt again for quite some time. Seems like he’s doing better than ever. May he continue to succeed further. God bless him all the way.
At the beginning I was hesitant about living a minimalist life, but it has been one of the best decision I have ever made.
This speaks so much to me! I have a lot of people tell me, "But don't you want to try new things and live an adventure?!" And I'm like, actually no. I love reading my books, going for my daily runs, and watching great movies on Saturday nights. I have no desire to travel the world, get little sleep, be hungry all the time, and not be able to find cold water lol. I love my little life. Why would I want to take a break from it?

When I travel, I like taking boring trips. I like sitting at a coffee shop to read. Eating a meal outside and watching people and traffic go by. I also enjoy spending time laying on the bed in the hotel room that I am overpaying for. I try really hard not to overschedule myself and instead spend time just being somewhere.
Finally!! Someone brave enough to be “boring” and unapologetic about it! I love my simple life, it makes me so much happier than my previous, stress complicated life. I’m building my way to be as boring as possible 😊 Thanks for the inspiration Matt & congrats on the wedding
I tried the digital nomad thing and it only revealed to me how much value there is in routines and consistency
It's 1am here and I have a feeling of dread and anxiety about what the morning is going to offer, the same feeling I've had over the last few months. Why don't you leave your town, go to a new town and treat the new town as a 'creativity hub', where you can do as you please without explanation, naysayers or old expectations/inbult behaviours? Each day you awake in the new town you realise just what you've left behind, and it will motivate you to use your time well. Plus the inspiration of meeting new people and having new experiences will further feed your creativity. How do I know this? It's how I live. Painful, but rewarding.

"TRY TO LIVE IN A WORLD OF POSSIBILITY" That's so true. We need more problems solvers. Thanks for being back, Matt!!!
I really needed to hear that, Matt. It reminded me of something. People are often so miserable because they think they are not where they outta be. But the best way to get where you want to be, is to embrace wherever it is you happen to be at this very moment. Accept your situation, count your blessings and spend your time like it's gold. Complaining and comparing is the fastlane to misery. Gratitude is the road to piece and prosperity. Although the latter means different things to different people. Look at the rich and the famous. Most of them are going completely off the rails.
Congrats on the wedding! Such beautiful pictures! I related to this video as I have had a very unexpected and high excitement last month as I am studying abroad in a new country right now. While I do miss some of my routines that keep me grounded and progressing towards goals, I think it is important to be okay that different seasons in life will look different. You get to choose and rechoose how to measure your life and if success is about having everyday be a microchasm of your values or about how well you can find balance across a bigger timeline (a week/month/year).
Okay the fact she rapped to you is just way to adorable.. Glad to see you back!
matt youre such a video making genius. not only do your videos make me (and probably everybody else too) giggle but youre providing such great value while putting it quite simple. thanks for coming back, youtube wouldnt be the same without you 🎩

Oh, man! The outtakes!!! Thank you for this one. I'm finding boring to be more and more satisfying in my life. This is a good reminder to reflect on that some more.
I was just thinking about this as I was scrolling Instagram the other day. A lot of my friends from my 20’s are partying it up in nightclubs in all these tropical locations. The first thing I thought was how boring my life is compared to that….and how much more I enjoy it

Honestly what we see on social media is not always true to IRL. There’s places now you can pay to literally go to take selfies to make it seem that you’re living it up.
So crazy, I ALSO got married to my wife and wanted to bring our families from different countries together - and we ALSO did it in Italy, even though none of us are Italians.. And she ALSO wore a dress almost exactly like the one, Nat is wearing 🙀

This is great advice. I quit my web design job and did the big adventure thing of hiking across the country, and it changed my life in the way that it made me realize I could choose something different for my day to day reality. I moved to Colorado and I work in wilderness therapy now during the summers - a hard but rewarding job that lets me be outdoors - and work at a coffee shop and do freelance design during the winters. I love the seasonal variety, and the rhythms that come along with this lifestyle. I also share a house with some of my best friends that I met through work, and that community is probably the best I've ever had. Can't imagine what would have happened if I had let myself languish at that desk job just because I had good pay and a 401k.
I like how you acknowledged adding in moments of excitement. I don’t know if I like the idea of ever referring to my life as “boring,” but I understand and stand behind the message for sure.
Hey Matt, glad you had a wonderful month! The thing i absolutely love about your videos is that they always feel so personal (in the talking style to the viewer) and that they also have excellent humor in them. That really is what separates you from other motivational/educational KZreadrs 😊

This was so much fun to watch, Matt! Love all the little jokes, to sandwich a more serious message that I completely resonate with: building a life that you don't want to escape from. And so glad to hear bringing everyone together for the wedding in Europe worked out and was an amazing experience, woohoo! 😀
Still so unbelievably happy for you and Nat, Matt! Congratulations 🎉

Thank you Matt, missed you man. From all those that think or feel like me, Thank you for inviting us to enjoy your process of life with you 🙏🏽 congratulations 🎊
I swear, you may live a day-to-day life, but I can resonate so much with the wisdom you share. Life is all about what we make it. Boring is not boring if you know what to expect from it and where you can find bits of happiness.
One of my friends left her job as a librarian to cook. Now she's a chef in a 5-star hotel. Another friend of mine left IT for psychology. She got a master's degree and now enjoys her work. I left my own field for science. I never wait for weekends because I enjoy every single day of my current life. And it all started from that very question "What would you choose to do if you didn't have to think about money?"
I'm so happy for you guys! Wish you all the best!! Welcome back 🤠

It's so often that I see people say that they think normal is boring (especially on dating apps). But if everyone is doing the same things, travelling, partying, etc., then that is "normal", or the "norm". Which means that staying in and reading a book is much more interesting.

Would like to see an updated version of your minimalist wardrobe after a few years.
Hello Matt, it's been around 5 + years since I have been watching you. Have implemented the same ideologies, not entirely but in parts and well, things are quite organised and systematic - personally and professionally. The pursuit of constant happiness and an imaginative life, was never the answer. It is doing what you love the most, on a daily basis, but to achieve that one has to work for it, and en route, elements such as doubt, fear, sacrifice, negativity all come in - ultimately its completely on you, as to how you let those elements govern you or intrigue you towards working harder. Life is a never ending journey, never to be satisfied, but to be grateful and disciplined. Thank you for it all.
Congratulations Matt and Nat! ❤ And welcome back, great return content and stunning vid as always!

'If I could do anything, regardless of money, what would it be?' I am so grateful that right now I have the time and savings to do that. Pretty much the same as you, create. I just graduated, and I finally have the time to do all the creative projects that I want to be doing. I have some money saved up and I still live at home, so I have the time now. I saw an offer for a job with a stable income, but I decided not to do it. I can always go to a stable income job later. Now I want to be free, and create, when I can!
Goodness I relate to so much of this!! Thanks for this video, Matt!

This is super timely since I also came from a week-long vacation as well! Thanks, Matt, and congrats to you and Nat on your beautiful wedding 🥰
The mundane doesn't have to be boring and the small everyday things and actions can be beautiful. Repetition doesn't have to be boring as long as you don't repeat boring situations. I love romanticizing my life and change what I can't romanticize. Every cup of coffee and every meal is an act of self love or self care, and I enjoy moving my body and I am grateful for the safety provided by my job, and I LOVE creating space in my life and my mind to create out of joy instead of productivity. It is not perfect and perfection would leave my life empty anyway ❤
this is my life same routine everyday same meal prep same workouts same job apart from the clothes and vacation i think it’s very similar to yours lol i’ve questioned myself before thinking i was too radical on my life style but perhaps not, i just want to build a family and have a boring routine during the day and come home to my boring kids and wife lol
