Davko Bakowski, thanks for clarifying. I’m such a fool not to recognise the distinction. When I have £5 and need food to get me to next week, I’ll put down the butter at the supermarket and keep it in my pocket. Maybe I’ll save up the money and pay someone to feng-shui up my living room.
Natalie's smile is the essence of contagious happiness and I wish I had that in my daily life. What a ray of sunshine.

About 6 months ago I went through my closet to get rid of stuff. I gave myself 20 minutes to do it so that I wouldn't overthink each item. If it was stained or too small or I just hadn't worn it in the last 3 months, it got pulled out. I gave myself about 15 minutes to do my dresser drawers. When it was all piled in my floor I didn't fold it and neatly bag it. I stuffed it in bags and put them in the front seat of my car (which would force me to donate them to a woman's shelter or else my kids wouldn't fit in the car lol). I knew if I sat and folded them, some of them would have ended up back in my closet. I HAD to set these parameters because I def get overwhelmed with the task of decluttering. Minimalism has really fascinated me the last 7 or so years.

Time limits are great cause they actually make us do things. I've given myself a year to read all of my "newer" books I've gotten and watch all of my movies and shows so I actually consume them and not just leave them on a shelf for another decade... If there's stuff I don't get to in that time it's either getting donated or sold. No buts about it.

@@suewarren4486 Of course I didn't give them the stained items. Of course those went into the trash.
Honestly, the "decluttering is a chore.. who wants to do a chore? Oh wait, you do" is soooo relevant. I'm also a minimalist/organizer and a while back my husband was answering a question about what I like to do and he said "you like to organize" and my immediate reaction was "no, it's a necessity!" but I kept thinking about it and... I realized... I *do* like to organize O_O It's such a refreshing feeling to reset your space or optimize your routine (which has inevitably shifted or changed in some way over the course of a few months)!

Holmes245 About 20 years ago, our next door neighbours were this married couple and their teenage son. The wife was always dressed immaculately. One day my four year old daughter locked me out of the house so I ran next door to use their phone quickly. When I walked in...it was like an episode of hoarders. Only enough room to walk a tiny path to each room and the phone was sitting on stacks of stuff piled up. I was stunned. She used to walk out the door looking gorgeous every day yet the inside of the house looked like a dump. I felt so sad for their little family. 🥺

@Nessi Drky Hoarders don't find joy in their things. They're afraid of letting them go. That's the difference. You can own any number of items and still be a minimalist. My girls and I loved this one! Natalie is awesome. We loved how she tried it but did not like it. I respect both of you so much for respecting each other's differences. Way to go. The Stanton Family
For everyone wondering what "Hygge" means: Hygge is a Danish and Norwegian word for a mood of coziness and comfortable conviviality with feelings of wellness and contentment.

Love the channel Matt. Definitely keen on trying the minimalist lifestyle!
This was definitely fun to watch! I tried minimalism too and I relate to Natalie. I love my stuff! I enjoy life more with it. I got bored with only a few make-up items and outfits. I do like food minimalism however because when you have too much, some of it gets forgotten and expires. Plus, I try to only keep fresh foods that I know I will eat because I hate wasting food. Therefor, the fridge looks bare, but it contains only what I know I can eat in a couple of days. And then I shop again :).
“I guess I don’t need glitter eyeshadow” 🤣
This was me and my husband 6 months ago... he has found it help his anxiety and stress. Also the house seems lighter and brighter which really helps our home vibe and atmosphere :)
Congratulations on your engagement!🎉
this was sooo sooo amazing ahhhhhhhhh thank you soo much for creating this !!!!!!
sometimes i envy people like Nat who can have a lot of stuff and also actively enjoy it. people whose lifestyle would def overwhelm me but they can easily navigate it like it's "their" mess

one of my friends is like this, like they have a million things going on and genuinely thrive/enjoy it but for me i have to plan everything bc i easily get overwhelmed i can prob do 3 things in a day before my mental energy starts running out, my free/alone time is very dear to me

Yeah me too. It's amusing to hear wealthy people talk about minimalism like it's such a great thing. If they couldn't afford new clothes (or new anything) for years, they probably wouldn't think it was so great.
i really love the aesthetic and humor in this video 💕 I'm thinking about minimalism, but like in a simple and personal way...because I'd still like to keep personal things from my childhood, but I get easily distracted and anxious when i see a messy room...i even always think i have got too much clothing....I'm definitely going to consider it 😍
I really really love your videos and you guys as a couple, thank you!

The pure joy of Natalie getting to keep her condiments is the absolute best moment of this whole video. I love it.
