A collection of steam locomotives and railway clips from the late 80's to now, featuring all kinds of engines in all kinds of places doing all kinds of work... I hope you enjoy!
Most of this vid is from the morning run down to Nigel from the Springs depot, which was mostly down hill. They would go down in the morning tender first with a light train, spend the day shunting, then they would return, funnel first up the grades back to Springs. In 1989 that was a daily Mon - Friday routine. It was magnificent!!!

One NA has been out of action for a few years now and that’s NA is 6A but it’s it that much longer until 6A is back in steam because 6A is my favourite NA and they’ve just put undercoat on 7A to represent I would say a little tribute to 5A
@simonetaylor728617 күн бұрын
7A dressed to look like now sadly scrapped loco 5A and I’m guessing that’s what 5A was painted like before the loco was scrapped and it’s sad that those amazing narrow gauge steam locomotives 🚂 were scrapped
@johnd889217 күн бұрын
No. The grey is just undercoat. All the Na locomotives ran in the Green, then red and finally black variations you see at Puffing Billy. This seems to be a welcome one off trip.

The whistle on this loco sounds almost identical to the standard New Zealand Government Railway whistle…if it is indeed a privately manufactured whistle could it be that they copied the NZGR item?

Seven of the seventy Victorian Railways R class Hudsons have been preserved. Of these four are in operational use like this one. Not many months if the year when each does not run a fan trip often double headed. Lots of KZread videos recording their use in preservation and a few from their normal service from about 1951 to 1967.
