Transport Heritage NSW Locomotive 6029 - Bathurst to Wimbeldon - Riding the Train

Ойын-сауық

On the King's Birthday Weekend, June 2024, Garratt locomotive 6029 and vintage diesel 4501 made their way over the Blue Mountains to Bathurst, where they spent two days running shuttles for the public to Wimbeldon and return. In railway talk this means a run up and down Tumulla Bank, a notorious steep climb that negotiates many sharp reverse curves for over five kilometres. It was a magnificent weekend with perfect timetable running and excellent on board management by the Heritage staff, making each 'shuttle' a pleasure to ride or photograph from one of the many vantage points along the line.
