He is not using arc welding on the door, the heat will bend the door.

After i have seen how you placed the frets, i can guarantee you, that this thing will sound terrible. There is a mathematical formula, to get the PRECISE measurement of each fret, otherwise it will be out of tune all over the place.

Serious question for the sake of common sense... It appeared that the door was being installed on the outside of that warehouse. The question is why go through all of the trouble when everything around it is thin sheet metal and Styrofoam? If someone wants in, they could rip a hole straight through the wall in a few seconds... Or just drive up with a truck and rip that door off with ease...

Pretty ingenious. However, you won't need to worry about wooden wedges. If you can press a handle into a head. A kerf won't be needed. Set your head and then use a barrel wedge or two and use the press again to sync them in. Should be nice and tight from there.

what was the overall cost of materials and how much time did it take for the whole process. As a hobbyist blacksmith, I understand the "make it yourself" mindset but it seems from between all the tools you have, time and materials, it might be just as well to buy a premade press.

I'm curious if you've made any more lava? If you have would you sell some of it? I'm a geologist and I would like some of this material. Thank you.
