Leave the cap off the Sharpie. You'll know when proper rejuvenation has been achieved when ink sprays on the ceiling.
If it doesn't sell on the Sharpie market, it will definitely do well on the BDSM spanking machine market.
Rube Goldberg is proud of you Paul. Me, I’m speechless.

I love watching This super talented person do ridiculously Cool shit... There, fixed that for you Thanks for another great video. As my wife would say... "Thats stooopit"
That thing works fantastically. Now you only need to fix 999 more Sharpies to hit break even. 😳
Well you fixed the sharpie problem, but how about that open loctite bottle?🤔😂

This man is dangerous, he can think, and solve a problem, all while spending way too much effort. I love it. I was scratching my head during the Tig welding process, but he answer my "WHY," and then some.
Woooooooooooooooooow, I just went out and bought a pack of three Sharpies and he is still making it! At least I now know what I can do with the lathe up in the loft!
Awesome! I might add a foot operated control about 20 feet away, or possibly another building.

everybody:throw away sharpies paul:ill make a 12 min video on making a sharpie sharpener
Sharpie Rejuvenation Machine 2.0 needs to have a snap in capability so you don't have to use any set screws to hold them in place. And the 2.0 version needs to have a shield so you can't get hit while it is running. Post 2.0 as soon as you upgrade it and we will suggest new improvements from there. Thumbs Up!
Glorious!

Haha, the unnecessarily high RPM is my favorite part. Fun stuff!
Lmao dipping the tip in paint thinners does the same thing

Thanks for the tip, I was on just about to get on Ebay to look for a lathe and a Tig welder to build this Sharpie recovery machine! To think, I could have wasted all that money and all I needed was some thinners.
I just add a few drops of denatured alcohol to back of the felt reservoir.... but this works too I guess.
Well that was fun. You forgot one thing (maybe two). Along with the tying of shoelaces comes sheathing a blade and tying a thin strip of cloth around your head.

My great grandfather was always trying to save a nickel. So he just put a whole handful of Sharpies in a microwave, 2 minutes on high. Word of caution, where eye protection.
Sheesh, appreciate the over-engineering, from this I tape the Sharpie to a long lag bolt & 3' of rope then sling it around a few times, took 3 minutes : )
thanks its very entertaining! love the fact no words spoken!!
Love the creativity and the talent to back it up. Very Inspiring!!

drill a deeper pocket counter boar the opening to fit a oring put a small amount of alcohol in the slinger roll a oring on the sharpie but felt tip in slinger seat oring tighten spin force small amount alcohol in then reverse sharpie and run again might gain a better feed dont know if it will work but it might
I was with you till the pens we're the wrong way up on the board
In less time than it took to watch this video, I set my uncapped dried up sharpie on its head, with its cap on, and literally got the same results. It makes for a nice Rube Goldberg machine, though.

Hahah you crack me up paul, all that for a sharpie, all I do is dip the end in some metho.
Tim the toolman Taylor had an episode where he talked about a spin cycle that would spin so fast that it would just "spin the shit off" - almost had something there.
You must be an MIT graduate. :-) Very entertaining.

You really cracked me up when you hit the on switch. I don't know if I'll ever be able to rejuvinate a Sharpie with a few drops of 90% alcohol again. Might have to build one. Score 9:10. (10:10 if you draw blood or break bones.) Good one . Cheers. Subbed.
I think that buyng 10 new sharpies would cost less 😂 aka when engeneer want to fix sharpie
@jimcoyle7262

@melgross

It’s not always about cost of the item, or machine. Go see what industry does to save a few seconds here and there. I designed, and made what’s likely the worlds most complex tungsten sharpener, because I could, it was fun to do, and I get perfect tungsten tips at any angle, with any diameter tungsten, in just a few seconds, 100% repeatably. Did I have to? No, but what’s the point of having the skill, knowledge and equipment if you don’t use it to solve the little problems as well as the big ones-and have fun doing it? But Paul, I would have put a shield between the switch and the end of the arm, in case the Sharpie flew out while you were turning it on or off-just in case.
pretty cool

A wise man once said “Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time”. That one off switch looks like it is right in the line of fire. You might want to get a 2x4 eight or ten feet long to turn it on.
No signs of overkill lol love it haha

LockpickingBelfast haha thanks!
I feel like a fool for just spraying brake cleaner on the tip and popping the cap back on. This is a much cooler way and it saves on brake cleaner!!
Very impressed. Good machine. And I like your style as a creator. I will subscribe. First video I've seen of yours. I will have to check out your channel for more content! Thanks!
slick trick. i use sharpies in my cage business, and someone forgets a cap once in a while. wouldn't know who, but since i work alone, it's a good bet i can figure it out. this might save him some ass chewings. lol!
$10 in wood $15 in metal $5 in welding supplies $50 electric motor $6 in wiring supplies 2 hours of shop time Saving .99¢ on a new sharpie Priceless!
@markbenoit

2 hours? 2 hours just the edit the video.
The best, easiest & quickest way to fix that problem is getting some rubbing alcohol.and soaking the tips in some alcohol long enough to wick all the way to the top of the tips.
nice idea! some masking tape and a ceiling fan would do the trick I guess

Store 'em tip down, and you don't need the machine.

Put the Sharpie in, but leave the cap off! Then sell your ceiling tiles for the big buck$ as modern art!
That's the definition of overkill
Instructions unclear, ended up with Sharpie wedged in rectom.

nice, feeling a bit like Laura Kampf video.
I want one. Where can I get one? Can I have yours.
Hell yes
Buy Milwaukee Inkzall Jobsite Markers . Superior to Sharpie pens.
Well i'll be dammed, it actually works.
There has to be a way to make art with the different colors place poster sized picture papers in a circle turn it on move them arround switch colors do again somebody on here would pay money for them
Seems like a lot of work to avoid spending $2.00 at Wal-Mart for 3 new markers...BTW, I store mine "Point Down" and don't have this problem...man, you got a lot of time on your hands...
RIP sharpie factory 😢
Absolutely ridiculous & brilliant! Who cares how much a Sharpie costs! Can Laura Kampf sue you for stealing her no-audio-communicate-via-signs method? Or, can you sue her?...Thanks, Paul👍✌️🙏
Seems like it will be cheaper to buy a new sharpie than a machine lathe
He forgets to tighten that, that sharpie will go thru somebody/the roof or end up in orbit, lmao
Compete wast of your time but I love it awesome work 👍
