    You do great work man. My only issue is that to my understanding a Hewing axe is offset to one side, so that it splits the wood away straight and even for squaring up logs.

    That's one tradition, in Finland and Sweden double beveled hewing axes are the most common type. Almost completely unheard of in my region when it comes to single bevels. Google billnäs hewing axes for some examples. Also the swedish Gränsfors 1900 is still made and is most commonly sold as a double bevel, but can be had in all styles.

    @@PaulPinto do you think it's possible to forge a single piece axe from leaf spring, about 1 cm thick ( kinda little less than 1/2 inch thick)

    Indeed a good-looking axe, but to make an authentic hewing axe, it has to be perfectly flat on one side. So they are made for a left hand or right hand person.

    Make a large Eye with the handle passing from the top of the axe: better fitting, stronger and simple, no wedges needed!

    I think you have a real talent there but I don’t think you show it. It seems like all you seem to be doing that is showing your skills are straightening the piece at the anvil after main forging is done by a press and grinding. It’s a lovely tool you made but it’s disappointing that you aren’t showing your true skills
