Thanks!
You do great work man. My only issue is that to my understanding a Hewing axe is offset to one side, so that it splits the wood away straight and even for squaring up logs.

That's one tradition, in Finland and Sweden double beveled hewing axes are the most common type. Almost completely unheard of in my region when it comes to single bevels. Google billnäs hewing axes for some examples. Also the swedish Gränsfors 1900 is still made and is most commonly sold as a double bevel, but can be had in all styles.
Well Paul, you know the way to Carnegie Hall. You have worked hard and learned well. Great job!

Your videos are awsome
Question. Alot of people forge weld harder steel into the blade. Does that matter much?
Alex who? Great work young man!
Exellent
Nice, what was the billet size you started with and what alloy do you recommend?

Wait so is it all mild steel? Or all steel that is hardenable?
What a relief when the music stopped. only to ruin the end again.
How do you like the ameribrade grinder been thinking about getting one?

amazing axe dude, really enjoyed this layed back video!! keep up the nice work :)
Beautiful work. Unable to get on your website looking at cost of this item
Dear Mr. Pinto, what was the total cost to equip your shop? What video editing software do you use? Fine video.
Perfect axe, but aren't hewing axes supposed to be single beveled?
Hew did a great job! Is that the first time you’ve made one? Axeing for a friend. (Sorry for the dad jokes, Father’s Day is coming up and I need to get in shape.)

Paul Pinto looks like nice work and I would be interested in having you forging a small forest/ boys or pack axe if you would be interested. If you could give me some information like steel used , handle wood and price that would be great. Thanks, looking forward to hearing from you soon.
how many hours did it take to forge this?

@@PaulPinto do you think it's possible to forge a single piece axe from leaf spring, about 1 cm thick ( kinda little less than 1/2 inch thick)
Indeed a good-looking axe, but to make an authentic hewing axe, it has to be perfectly flat on one side. So they are made for a left hand or right hand person.

Yeah, I'd take that axe into battle.

Make a large Eye with the handle passing from the top of the axe: better fitting, stronger and simple, no wedges needed!

I may be wrong but isn’t that just putting an axe head on a tomahawk handle

@@oscarsimpsonjacka7917 same thing, tapered Eye and handle matching and locking. Also Is Quick changable, which Is wow on a hewing axe, depending on where you are working on you throw a different handle in the axe

good idea, i want make~! My channel subscription👍😆 좋아요~!
I think you have a real talent there but I don’t think you show it. It seems like all you seem to be doing that is showing your skills are straightening the piece at the anvil after main forging is done by a press and grinding. It’s a lovely tool you made but it’s disappointing that you aren’t showing your true skills
