The left front tire rubbed the air dame. Now here’s the sad part . Dothan toyo service dept first advisor stated “ you didn’t hit anything “ . Then the supervisor called me over wanted $1,198 to replace and said I ran over something. Problem with that is this no damage to air dame and wear are the stripped out pieces of plastic?
@RobMotive16 сағат бұрын
So did they fix it? If so, did they cover it?
@geneseminoleranger777316 сағат бұрын
Heck no ! They wanted $$$. Took Tacoma to another dealer who stated Dothan toyo should have covered the part! But it was out of there hands since I didn’t buy from them. I can mention same Tacoma had 2 other QC issues , hood scope was detached and rear power outlet didn’t work.

Agree, don’t regret trading my 22 trd off road for a 24 trd off road at all. The gen 4 has a far better 8 speed transmission vs the antiquated over worked 6 speed. Disc brakes all around no old school drums in the rear, braking much improved. No more leaf springs, coil over shocks, much better suspension. 20% more torque, and especially where it counts at lower rpm 1800 vs 4200. More power from the turbo for increased acceleration. More modern styling by a long shot. Lighter weight tailgate with dampened opening., and easier to lift. Lighter weight aluminum engine hood with 2 position open points and out of the way. Great customizable dash. 3 drive modes from sport to normal to econo. Start button where you can see it. No more knobs for ac/heat/fan/defrost. Replaced by 2 position large well placed toggle switches. Superior towing package with hitch align assist and also tow haul mode. My model also has the adjustable brake control and the ability to program for more trailers if you have more than 1. Automatic trailer light checking. The whole dash layout is simplified. Great cameras and much improved Toyota safety sense alerts. No more manual parking brake, locks automatically on shutting down in park. I could go on and on, but I think you get why I’m happy with my 24 try off road.

I cant agree with you more. This gen is fabulous all around. Well I removed the cowl air dam and I thought gas mileage would get worse. Mine got better, go figure. Spectacular performance Rob. Sarcasm to the max! Regarding the turbo. I had an 06 PT Cruiser GT. The GT has a High Output Turbo 4 exclusive to the GT. I sold it with 289,000 miles on it and never had any problems with the turbo powerplant. It was a pure joy to drive with outstanding power and torque. I sold it to a friend who uses it as a Mail route car now. It now has over 300,000 miles on it and still no issues with the turbo engine. Personally, I'd much rather have the turbo 4 in the Tacoma than the old lethargic V6. If Chrysler can build a turbo 4 that goes over 300,000 miles, how much more so can Toyota.
