SR for 39k is just a hard pill to swallow. SR has always been the affordable trim level.

I agree. The one thing about the SR though is that I think it looks better compared to the 3rd gen SR's. Almost 40K for an entry level Tacoma is insane though.

$43K for the SR5 is just plain stupid.

the 2023 sr5 4x4 msrp was also around $40k. and now you have a ton of new technology in the 2024. it does not seem as far off in price as people make it sound

@@car-diologist I have nothing to do with inflation, cost of materials, and advancements in technology. I guess you should have been an engineer at Toyota and told them to stick with the 3rd gen for another 10 years since its "more reliable". I'm sure they would have listened to your opinion

Let the Tacoma’s & Tundra’s rot on those lots my brother! Toyota has sold us out! Been with Toyota since 1986 and I can’t believe my eyes what they have done with their vehicles and their loyal customers!

Good to see you out in the field today checking out the “newbies”! Thanks! I’ve got a ‘23 TRD Off Road Premium (lunar rock) I bought new last year with all the bells and whistles and it cost about the same as a ‘24 SR5, which has way less add ons.

39k that’s crazy for a sr Toyota Tacoma

Yes they still are way over priced sad

In 2017 I padded 28000$ for my tacoma 4cyl 5 speed 4×4 extracab with the fold up back seats I've put a few mods on it over the years but I always intended to keep this one and as of today it has 33000$ so if everything keeps going as well as it has I'll probably be dead before the truck.

I’m still not buying a Taco.

Nope, priced themselves out of the market. Toyota shot themselves in the foot. Kinda sad. They are going to lose sales to other truck manufacturers.

Go to Kelly Blue and filter Nissan Frontiers. In my area, the dealers are putting big money on the hood. Toyota will likely be in the same situation once production catches up. With the stiff competition in the midsize truck market, it will soon be a buyers market for those that are patient.

So Tundra in limited trim, with the Hybrid, is about the same price as a Tacoma TRD Pro sticker price. Wow! I am curious to see how much TRD Pro Tacoma’s are jacked up in price once available.

The TRD Pro Tacoma is around the same price as a Tundra Platinum with TRD Off Road package. The pricing is kind of ridiculous. but you gotta pay to play I suppose.

Toyota pricing these so much higher than Gen 3 has left a golden opportunity for competitors to take market share away. Assuming, of course, the competition doesn't get greedy and simply raises prices to match.

Good lord for a $40,000 dollar truck those tires are horrible. What they put the cheapest tires they could find on them. Rear slider should be standard.

Funny how Tacoma fans complain about the pricing, yet the ones selling are the higher end TRD Offroads and Limiteds. If people keep buying the higher priced models then they’re supporting the higher priced market. Odd.

When Toyota does put the Stout in the marketplace, the turbo 4 would be a great motor for it...

A new redesign is hard to get deals on. We just have a bad economy. They are pretty nice trucks and with Toyota you get what you pay for.

Couple basic models that are over priced

SR is detuned to 228 hp and 243 tq and is more expensive than a decently equipped Pro4X, within 1000 of a ranger xlt 4wd, and same price as a Colorado Trailboss in my area. that’s ridiculously overpriced.

Overpriced and the fact they took away or made smaller items important to the driver. Lastly they really have a boring lineup in colors to competition other then yours...this 4th gen was made to be red

Look at the recent history of Toyota They develop an electric vehicle where there is an issue of the wheels falling off…like what? The Corolla with defective CVT They get rid of the landcruiser and pretend that the prado is the landcruiser and charge as much for one with cloth seats as TRD pro 4Runner which is a prado under the skin Then no tow hooks on the tundra and an unreliable overly complicated twin turbo V6 that is now recalled They put out hybrid only trims of vehicles like the Sienna and can’t supply the market They bring back the Venza in hybrid only which turns out to be a good vehicle only to can it after a few years for the weird Crown model which is overpriced They introduce a grand highlander to get a bit more space than a highlander and of course costs even more They introduce mild hybrid vehicles that are more complex and more expensive than ICE only versions for little gain in mpg but extra power Turbo 4 in highlander Turbo4 in Tacoma They introduce package options on their trucks Something Toyota was mercifully free of before These packages are loaded by dealers onto the trucks they sell Inflating the already inflated prices further Must be more examples But the marketing and engineering decisions are all over the place Incoherent What is going on with that company?

Watch, the Toyota Stout if they actually sell it here in North America will be $37k. And people will day oh wow, what a great deal.
