One of the main reasons I purchased the GMC Canyon over the taco. They have a dedicated cooling fan for the turbo, even when the truck is off the fan will turn on if your turbo is hot. They also over built the lower end of the engine/block based off the turbo diesel engine. As far as Comfort they did improve the taco, but does not come close to the canyon seating position or seat comfort/support. It was also $7k less than the Taco I had reserved.

Martin told me and he works for toyota you only need the air dam on long drives at high speeds. And watch the truck around 7500 miles. The break in period may increase fuel economy. I noticed this on my 2022 trd sport. I couldn't get over 20.5mpg till 7500 miles. I. Now have a tonneau cover on mine and get up to 21.6mpg.

Man did you ever get a OV or overlanding tune on your 3rd get. Think there us another popular one out there. Man it was a game changer with the pedal commander. Most the time im in eco mode unless pulling something, got it with the option to gear lock when in shift mode. It really is awesome, Toyota could of made them 3 rd gens run better out the door. I average 19 or 20 mpg, I've got 26 after a fill up running all hwy between 55- 60 mpg. Still in love with my 3rd Gen,its my baby 😂

I removed the air dam on my 2023 Taco and I noticed an increased in my mpg by 1-2. I had originally thought it might decreased it as I added the bull bar thus necessitate the need to remove the air dam in order to install the bull bar.

I bought the 2024 tacoma trd sport, very happy with the ride and performance, hard to believe that a 4 cylinder is under the hood.. just a very sharp truck a pleasure to drive..I paid 46,000 for it…got 22,000 for my 2014 tacoma trd with 86,000 miles private sale, so out of pocket cost me 24,000…really happy so far with the Tacoma…yes it’s pricey..

I’ve had my 24 off road for 7 weeks now. About 1800 miles to date. I tow my small camper and must say it tows far better and smoother than my previous 22 off road. I’ve been over a lot of bumpy campground roads and no squeaks or rattles, even from the glovebox. Absolutely loved my 22 gen 3, but so far the 24 is better in every way. I have the electric seats and no, there is no seat drop. When I shut down there is an immediate small sound from the rear wheel area. I believe it’s the auto parking breaks engaging.

I bought my TRD Sport around 2.5 months ago and I love it! Just got my first 5k service today and use my truck for both hiway/city miles. Really concerned early on with the MPG but currently getting 20.6 and that's running 80MPH on the interstate where we live. This is a great truck and so far extremely happy with it.

Well you don't keep your trucks long term. So yes, it's great now. I'm sure if you keep this one , sooner or later you would have turbo issues. Then you would say that you hate that truck. I'll keep my 23 with my v6.

I know life is short. That's not what I'm saying here. My point being is that you don't keep your trucks long term. For us who do, like myself I need piece of mind. You'll probably never encounter turbo issues because you don't keep them for long term. So you can't just say how great the new 24 Tacoma is until you own it for the long term. You said you have 300 miles on it. You haven't even broken it in yet. Keep this truck for 5 years or more than do a video on what you think about the new Tacoma.

And yet another prediction on the turbo with absolutely zero data to back it up other than 80s era thinking on 1st generation turbos. There many examples of modern turbos lasting well over 200,000 miles in vehicles. There are also tons of examples of V8 engines not lasting 100,000. Change the oil and you'll be fine.

I assume you have the hybrid since you said you are getting 18mpg in the city? I have only driven a TRD Off-Road non-hybrid. It is way better than the 3rd gen Tacoma, it feels like my Gladiator, which is to say still isn't as powerful as I want but I'm sure the hybrid will be. Given the MPG I think I would be able to live with the non-hybrid but I think the hybrid will be the best for me. As far as looks and features I've already said in other comments this is night and day between the 3rd gen. The 360 camera system is HD, looks even better than the Gladiator's cameras, and also the wi-fi trailer camera setup is a huge win. Everything is awesome about this truck. I am going to get the TRD Pro coz I think that's the best chance I have of getting everything I want, and I fell in love with the faux carbon fiber dash and heritage Toyota badging. Getting the black seats and then I will buy the red trim door panels and glove box coz I think the red seats are a bit much. HOWEVER, if the guy finds me one with red interior I probably will get that. I don't have any backseat passengers so that won't be a problem. I know with those fancy seats it eats into the rear passenger leg room. I'll probably get a 60% Goose-Gear seat delete and leave the 40 for some unfortunate person who's forced to ride in the back. lol

The parking brake makes a racket when putting it in and out of park. I never heard it until my son pointed it out. Noticed it when I was hooking up my boat. Sounds like a gear in and out. I can tell you tow haul mode is fine but the cluster gauge programing on dash is a pain in the ass. It tells you now every time the tailer assist isn't working, when I start the truck even without the boat or hitch. I programed my boat in the system, I had to delete it. Also, I have this icon in the right bottom corner in red with two dots. I checked the manual I can't get rid of it. I wish they would keep things simple. No need to have this info, just a tow haul switch. I guess TFL had this same confusion with programming. Toyota can do better than this nonsense.
