My wife and I decided to get a Tacoma.. did not like my Tundra.. it's gone. We waited to see the new Tacoma before we made a decision on new or the real deal previous model. We waited to late. Absolutely did not like the new Tacoma.. and The dealer was out of the 23s and the used Tacomas were at new car prices. I will have to be satisfied with my 5 speed manual gearbox 2000 4 Runner with 235K miles and no issues. After 12 Toyotas.. they have lost me with lower quality and 0bsecne greed . 4 Cyl turbo in a truck.. sounds like something Chrysler would do.

Glad you love your Tacoma. In spite of what you might think some of us actually hope we are wrong about the new Tacoma. But the Tundra issue makes the release of this new truck cast in a shadow of doubt on all their technical and manufacturing capabilities. Glad to admit I am wrong when you and vast majority of Tacomas actually hit 150.000 trouble-free miles. Good luck.

People are anxious to talk smack about Toyota. They've been so well known for building quality and reliability for so many years that haters can't wait to hate. I'm no hater of Toyota. Unfortunately, they have lost my full confidence in their products today. I question if Toyota will be the product worth buying now.

You haven't experienced any issues. You probably have less than 500 miles on it. 😅 I said it before and I'll say it again, you don't keep your trucks long term, so do a video on your truck when it has 20 thousand miles on it and let us know what you have experienced. This video make no sence in a truck that hasn't even broken in yet.

@@williammiller6422 That must be why so many former Taco men have bought a Frontier and love it. As if soft Taco does not also have cheap plastic and small back seat. Frontier has never had a weak FRAME ,which is rather important, and has been extremely RELIABLE for years, which is a big deal, and doesn't torture taller drivers with an uncomfortable FRONT seating position, which is a little mire important than the back seat. Soft Taco fanboys always conveniently FORGET to bring up the Taco white elephant issues in the room. Like the famous gear-hunter transmission.

A new Ranger or Colorado is just a better value now. A TRD ORP or sport costs 55k. A fully loaded ZR2 is 55k. A Ranger Raptor is only 4k more. Those trucks are TRD pro competition. The Pro is 65k without the mark-ups which are already showing up. Already up to 80k! There's no way to justify it.

When the 3rd gen TRD Pro came out 7 years ago, it started at $42k and odds were it was built in Texas. Today a TRD Pro starts at around $65k, basically doesn't have rear seats and is definitely made in Mexico by people making $2/hour.

Spectacular performance Rob. Sarcasm to the max! Regarding the turbo. I had an 06 PT Cruiser GT. The GT has a High Output Turbo 4 exclusive to the GT. I sold it with 289,000 miles on it and never had any problems with the turbo powerplant. It was a pure joy to drive with outstanding power and torque. I sold it to a friend who uses it as a Mail route car now. It now has over 300,000 miles on it and still no issues with the turbo engine. Personally, I'd much rather have the turbo 4 in the Tacoma than the old lethargic V6. If Chrysler can build a turbo 4 that goes over 300,000 miles, how much more so can Toyota.

Hard to tell. It’s easy to trash a manual if you don’t know what you’re doing. Just as likely to be owner error. For instance, shifting from 5th to 1st at 60mph?

Interesting to see what will happen with all the scandals / issues Toyota is having, but don't think they are really worse off than other makers either - people are talking more about the issues w the tacomas and toyota is hard more loudly. I love your truck from what I error seen, the red is beautiful and excited to see what else you do with it

The wide stance, the fact that 33 in. tire will fit right out of the box with no lift, the aggressive front face, the sharp angle exterior lines, the additional head room compared to 3rd gen, the seat position comfort, the smooth and agile ride, the added fuel mileage, the low end torque, the people who show interest when I'm out and about. These are just a few of the reasons I hate the 2024 Tacoma. And don't get me started on how the dealer was able to discount the purchase price.

Rob!!! I don’t understand people!!! Since 3rd Generation went out many people criticized Tacoma: that it didn’t have luxury, cabin was dated, no technology, small screen, uncomfortable position for front seats, no front passenger seat automaticity, no rear disc brakes, no multilink rear suspension, a dated naturally aspirated engine without torque, that it was no match against the Ford Ranger turbo, it was a slow truck, etc, etc, etc. Toyota fixed it and now they criticized what they ask for!!! Important to highlight 99% of them ARE NOT OWNERS!!! I traded my 2020 TRD SPORT 4X4 and I can’t be happier with my 2024 Blue Crush SPORT PREMIUM. 1,000 miles and cero problems. I want to hear or read in this case those with real problems and who are real owners. Not many people will complaint.
