what do you use the t track for?
Whew, good thing I had my table saw, miter saw, biscuit joiner, router, sander, keg jig, drill... I'd hate to have to build this with limited tools like probably the vast majority of youtube viewers have. So happy the video applies to me. That was a close call!
This video isn’t a “build a project with minimal tools” type video. Everyone starts with no tools and builds them up over the years based on what tool they need for the project. Do you have to use a biscuit joiner, no, but I did because it’s another way to join boards. To do any woodworking project you will need some tools to straighten, join, sand, and finish.
Does the sawstop come with metric measurements?
I believe you need to order either metric or imperial.
Cool video.👍🇬🇧
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. 👍🏻
*going to Home Depot to buy some lumber*
3 minutes and 15 secounds in and he uses a drill
No drill into your table saw fence.
@@TwoBitWoodworks yeah, I see what you mean, just finished.
What's the t-track for
Very nice job making the clamp racks. I do have one question though, when mounting the cleat to the back why do you mount it lower rather then flush at the top of the clamp rack?
nice bro, I liked your video, what exactly is that foam measurement, to buy it, thank you!
You can actually go to Kaizan inserts website and order for a specific container.
Yes I know, but if you remember that same measurement because it is for the same box
I had one of these cutter heads installed a local repair shop and runs really loud and has burned out two belts since. Anyone experience this?
I’ve been running this setup consistently for a while now with no issues.
@@TwoBitWoodworks Tks, I am wondering if it wasn't installed properly.
Maybe it’s the wrong diameter or not the right part number.
Just a heads up, I just got my Luxe cut three a couple days ago and they now ship with the cutterhead removed and they didn’t do that before. Even the website when I ordered said they did not come that way. But… There was an RMA form inside and it looked like mine had been dropped so it could’ve been a return. the threads were screwed up on the shaft and I intend on contacting the company tomorrow. I was able to clear the threads using the shaft nut and some lubricant.
Hopefully you customer service experience with lux goes better than mine with bird tool.
@@allensmith6430 actually it was very good. I had problems with the videos uploading by email so I had to send still pictures, but we got it straightened out quickly. I was accidentally sent a head that had been sent in for return and it wasn’t supposed to be sent out. They immediately sent me a new head. All new, cutters installed and everything wrapped in plastic, foam, cardboard, and crated. I would definitely use them again if I needed a new head for something. 5 stars ⭐️
Thanks so much for this guide! I made this for our school's sawstops and it works perfectly. I had to cut out some spacers from steel hose clamp straps in order to raise the mag jigs the extra 1/32nd of an inch or so above the plywood top surface so that they would sit flush with the bottom of the plywood base. I think you used some split lock washers as spacers. I didn't have any on hand that were thin enough. Anyway, thanks again!
I am very happy that this helped you! I’d love to see some pictures
Do they fall out of the foam when carried by
They do not. I trim them carefully and leave a little extra so they fit snugly in the foam.
This video was amazing. I wish this was the standard of instructional videos on KZread.
Thank you very much for the generous feedback! We will be making videos again soon!
Nice video, I’ve been doing just the same with my clamps on a French cleat wall, same sort of clamp hangers, very efficient. Only difference is that I didn’t put my clamp hangers on backer boards, each of my clamp racks has its own French cleat so I’ve got more flexibility to move them around in the future. One suggestion about the video though, turn the music down! Appreciate you want something to fill the void that would otherwise be wood sawing, but the music got repetitive and was too loud. Cheers !
I've been checking out some of these videos on making an organizer for my 5" orbital and this one i really like. I'll make some changes but not many and maybe a add on or two. I've been doing woodwork for over 60 years now and love it being self thought. You made a really good organizer that's why I'm going to build one for myself. Thank you for sharing. Joe
Hi Joe, thanks so much for watching! I’m glad you enjoyed the project. Now that I’m in my new shop I’m going to be making a new one.
I watched like ten different vids and none of them helped. This had all the info I needed. Thx
I’m so glad that my video helped you! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for an awesome suggestion. You convinced me to remount my guides.
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
Newbie here: I’m guessing you’re limited to making narrow cuts because of the width of the wheels? Also, I understand they hold the material down but what exactly is the benefit? Thanks, Garry
Hi Garry, great question! The wheels pull the material tight to the fence in order to keep the cut straight as well as help to prevent kickback. These work great when I’m ripping down 4x8 sheets of 1/4” plywood into 5” strips for faux shiplap.
Do you need a cut kit when all you use is knife and sharpie
Different size knives and different color markers come in handy for any scenario.
If you saw my fingers right now after not using push sticks on a piece of stock, I think you’d start being more careful. 12 stitches in two fingertips. I’m incredibly lucky and won the dumbass of the day award… don’t be the next winner, believe me, it’s not worth it. Use push sticks and don’t get too confident.
Thank you for the video! looks great and protects your investment. I'm going to the URL foam site to buy now!! 🙂
Appreciate it, thanks for watching.
Put only Three plywood Separators and Hang F-Clamps: Back to Back 👍
Were did you buy this type of foam?
There is a link in the description to the Kaizen Inserts I used.
Can we get a “I don’t have a whole warehouse or real experience” version
How do I do this with basic tools?
I have the same router, Milescraft should include some washers, those Dewalt screws heads are a little small.
Agreed!
Great tutorial but the backround trumpet music sucked
So easy for me to do. Thank you so much
your amazon links are not working
Thanks for letting me know I appreciate it
I assume you have to have a ferrious metal in your fence? Are they all compatible with those magnets? Great idea.
As long as your fence is made using something like steel then the magnets will attach.
Was that a gremlin peeking it's head at the end of you table 😲😲 -lol
Yeah that’s our lucky Penny. We had just got her a little before that video. I was trying to acclimate her to the shop. She wasn’t a fan. She’s better now though. Thanks for watching!
What was the spacing on your support beams? Like 3 feet? Might have been better to put an extra support beam in there. Typical spacing is between 16-24 inches. You can see the ramp sag when you walked on in as well as sat on it in the end of the video. Good job tho on putting together a clean and simple video! Cheers.
Nice vidio quality but I learned nothing. I know how to measure and cut 2 x 4s. It would be nice to know how you attched the ramp, joist hangers or lag bolts. I used both.
That is a great method for attaching the Jessem jig to your tablesaw I plan on doing the same thing and making a set up so that I can use the very same Jessem jigs on my router table
That’s a great idea.
Damn, unfortunately my fence is aluminium, I wished I could use that magnet switch
great
Fantastic working
Thanks for watching!!
This was perfect as a vanity desk for me. kzread.infoUgkxMAlHv7-BBWMrPRm5-uEoD6rtdT7SG2Qr Especially the glossy finish. Easy to cleanI was looking for something that wasn't the traditional white and with more of a modern feel. This fit the bill beautifully. I put it together with no problems, by myself in under an hour.Make sure you double check where you place the drawer tracks before screwing down. I had one track that needed to be aligned with different holes than the rest.
I'm used to larger, corded routers kzread.infoUgkxfQ5_mgwq6PcudJvAH25t-I4D-3cTPz4z so this was a different experience for me. Basically, this is an incredibly sweet machine, fits well in the hand, etc. It has slightly less power than I'm used to, but that's understandable. Maneuvering freehand takes some practice. These days, it's especially nice to be able to avoid power cords. This is above the level of a hobbyist but below a pro level.
You do have to spend some time setting the saw up... blade, fence, etc. But once done, the saw is great. Fairly compact which is Nice kzread.infoUgkxXh-4_3-ZT1fFWP91ZV7iVqzElr0lEb-a I did get an Incra Miter Gauge which takes some setup as well. The stock miter gauge can be adjusted in the miter slot with a little painter's tape... this tightens up the side to side play a lot.
Where is the foam bought at
The link is in the description of this video. Check them out!
Seeing you with that lead made me so glad I went for the battery version!
I’m not looking forward to using it this fall, we moved and now we have an even bigger yard. So now I’ll need a really really long extension cord.
That music over and over again on a loop....🤯🤕
Perfect thank you
Dude has stock in screws lol Nice work!
The plywood walls are only 1/4” (decorative use only) so I had to secure the cleats to the studs. Usually Brad nails and glue would be enough.
Yiu didnt mention whether or not to replace the cutter rotate lock plate. Do you reinstall it or leave it off?
It was reinstalled.
Thank you
Great video, very helpful. Thanks for sharing👍👏
I’m glad you found the video helpful! Thanks for watching.
Im trying to use 3/4 inch ply but the mag switch sticks out the bottom about 1/32 ''. Did you have that issue?
You can try shimming it with some washers, but I did not have that issue.
Great video! Did you notice any issue with the motor not keeping up with the extra drag created by the helical cutterhead?
I haven’t noticed any increased drag at all. I would say it’s more the opposite. I’m taking lighter passes but more which is resulting in a cleaner cut. Less sanding is always a good thing.
