How To Build a Flip Top Tool Stand | DIY Woodworking Shop Project

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

The latest video in my small shop series is on my new heavy duty flip top cart. Shop organization is paramount in a small one-car garage workshop. With woodworking, comes lots of tools that need to be organized and accessible. Spend more time making and less time searching for everything you need.
I built this DIY flip top tool cart based on plans from a book called The Complete Small Shop from Woodsmith (store.woodsmith.com/product/8.... This stand holds my 12-inch disc sander and planer, but it can be used for any benchtop tool you may have.

👍 to your little helper not enough fathers passing on wood working skills to their children But again I don’t see many adults have any working by hands skills I’ve done construction work since I was 14 started digging ditches to working as job Forman for a company building Hospitals surprised how many guys can’t read a tape measure ! Nice little project thanks for posting

Needing to make one or two of these things. Nice additions, I haven't seen the bracing add-on before. Smart. I would guess that metal corner braces do the same thing but you didn't have to buy them, right? But.... I think that you need to add more clamps on to those boards. You didn't have enough on there! Ha ha ha

  • @TwoBitWoodworks

The bracing definitely helps keep the structure more rigid. I used 3/4 plywood because it was on hand and worked perfectly. You can never have to many clamps!!!

I really like this build. I was looking for a strong and stable build for a flip top workbench and like this one the best. I found an edition of woodsmith complete small shop but I didn’t see the plan for this build, do you have a working link to the correct book or possibly the plan for this build, because I believe I’m gonna try and build it to make space for my shop?

Point well taken. My Grandfather sent his to the can in 1963. I have his craftsman. While I know what can happen I stop on rip cuts. I then flip it over to finish the cut. Looking into adding something to my blade inserts in the future.
