Dethatching your lawn is a key step in lawn care. Thatch is a mixture of dead and living plant matter that gathers at the base of the grass. A small amount of thatch is actually a good thing, but it becomes a problem when the thatch layer builds up too much. If the thatch layer is thick it could prevent moisture and air from getting to your soil. If the thatch builds up for too long it may not only kill your grass, but it can also damage the soil. Once the soil is damaged even replanted grass is not likely to grow. A build up of thatch can also be a nesting ground for insects. #lawncare #diy #homeimprovement

I’m not looking forward to using it this fall, we moved and now we have an even bigger yard. So now I’ll need a really really long extension cord.
Hi Keith, Here in the UK we call it a scarifier & our collection box is on the front so that it catches all (well nearly all) of the thatch it lifts out of the lawn, saves all that raking up afterward!

That’s a great idea. This one came with a basket in the back, but it kept popping off and it was way too small to really make a difference. That’s why I just removed it.

It’s just a knob on the side of the wheels that you turn to adjust the height. Pretty simple design. Thanks for watching.
My Canadian tire has one in clearance saying defective leaking sand…any idea what they mean by that?
Does only the right side tire rotate? Or should both? I cannot get the left to move.

Both should move for sure.
i have one and i just can't get it to work what is the heights setting on her it just cuts the grass and dig in the dirt

So two things, I did make sure to cut the grass pretty short and I also did it in the fall. Take your time and go slow. Always start with the setting at their highest level and drop down accordingly.
Our black collector bag for our WORX Dethatcher is in the garbage can. Don't buy this machine if you think the bag is going to be handy to use

@@TwoBitWoodworks I've seen other videos saying leave it off too - use the blower/vacuum to collect instead. Or just rake it up.
