Table Saw Outfeed Table for a Small Shop | How to Build - Woodworking
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
I'll show you how to build this assembly/outfeed table out of lumber from the big box stores in just one day. The original plan was to have a Part 2 which would of includes a custom router table system and Part 3 which was adding modular storage underneath for accessories and other tools. A new table saw made its way into the shop so the plans have changed. Stay tuned for an all-new assembly/outfeed table.

This was perfect as a vanity desk for me. kzread.infoUgkxMAlHv7-BBWMrPRm5-uEoD6rtdT7SG2Qr Especially the glossy finish. Easy to cleanI was looking for something that wasn't the traditional white and with more of a modern feel. This fit the bill beautifully. I put it together with no problems, by myself in under an hour.Make sure you double check where you place the drawer tracks before screwing down. I had one track that needed to be aligned with different holes than the rest.
You do have to spend some time setting the saw up... blade, fence, etc. But once done, the saw is great. Fairly compact which is Nice kzread.infoUgkxXh-4_3-ZT1fFWP91ZV7iVqzElr0lEb-a I did get an Incra Miter Gauge which takes some setup as well. The stock miter gauge can be adjusted in the miter slot with a little painter's tape... this tightens up the side to side play a lot.
This is the first out feed table/work bench I've seen oriented this way... this orientation is going to be perfect for my small space. Thanks for the video!

The best place to put your hand is also the most dangerous, unfortunately.
Your design and workmanship is excellent! Thank you for sharing a great idea! My present shop is only 1200 sq. ft. I don’t have enough room to permanently dedicate that much space to an out feed table. In my way of thinking out feed is only half the problem. In feed roller systems tend to push your work away from your fence if not watched and handled carefully. In fact I believe in feed is more important than out feed. My solution was to build my router table into a wing on my table saw, where I can use the table saws fence and miter gauge for both operations. I then built two identical rolling tables 50” x 30” with Formica laminate tops that are the same height as my table saw and all my work benches. The Formica allows the wood to glide over the top without importing any wax or silicone that may impede finishing later. When cutting sheet goods like plywood I can handle every step alone and stop and go as necessary as the work is fully supported. When not in use I join them together to creat an assembly table that doesn’t block up the use of my table saw. When that’s not needed they make great individual work stations for bench top tools like drill presses, jointers and thickness planers. I use their lower shelves to store the bench top type tools to give the tables weight and stability when the wheels are locked in place.
This answered so much for a similar design for my shop...I pondered... saw your ideas, now my journey to the dark side is complete. TY

You did a good job on the table. I like the fact that you are in a one car garage so trying to maximize usage of each precious square foot. I love doing work with wood as well as the next guy, but i dabble in all sorts of materials. Have a 1" thick Rexroth Bosch Aluminum Framing System cataloge, and 2 locations within driving distances that precision cut and supply ever facet of an outfeed table or ANYTHING. These vendors supply robotics & conveyor systems mostly for automotive in the Detroit area. Go to site and request a hardcover cataloge(don't let them send you a flash drive because it will jam all the space on your computer). Thought about a custom saw/router/surface plianer with lenght for sailboat building useing Mafell huge crosscut saw & their routers (REMOVABLE) all on "X" -"Y" -"Z" axis sliding components.

T B- You brought up something else that pertains to me as well, the track saw. Got mine about a year ago but working it in to my routine is very awkward. It's alien to me because I grew up like most people with a table saw. It's just taking a while for me to "think it" into my routine. Kind of like doing things with your left hand when you're right handed. Guess I need to work on some brain training.

gjle I’ve been there. If you have a good track saw it makes it easier to start your cuts with it rather than going right to the table saw. I’ve done a whole project with just my track saw because it was out and I didn’t want to clear everything off to use the table saw.

Having said that, I just about go crazy with all of the people on KZread who break every rule in the book. These people are stitches waiting to happen. There are so many folks who think it will never happen to them! Most accidents happen to seasoned wood workers who take stupid chances Or keep working when they are tired. @TwoBitWoodworks

My shop is a one-car garage that is 11' x 23' which I believe is technically considered small. The outfeed table is also my assembly table, workbench, and storage for a lot of my tools. Having a small shop requires one piece to serve more than one purpose.
Liked the video mate! Just a little video tip. Don't use the auto focus when filming from a stationary point. If you speed up the footage it becomes a bit jarring to look at. If you manually focus the shot, even though it might not be perfect, it's much nicer to look at. :)

Sorry to have to say, but I can’t stand that type of music in so many how-to videos. Wish I could turn it off w/o losing the commentary. Why the music in the first place? I’m here for your great work and to find inspiration. Music adds nothing. But thanks for making and sharing your cool outfeed table project.
Wheres parts 2 & 3?!? 🤤

Nathan Wilson parts 2&3 got put on the back burner because I got a new SawStop and the layout of the shop has changed dramatically since then. I will be working on incorporating a router table into the extension table of my SawStop, as well as a new outfeed/assembly table.

Ok cool! I'm working on setting up a 2 car garage and still having the ability to get my wife's car in at night. I love the organization tips!

Pocket holes into endgrain is prob not a good idea. Nice build tho. =P

Thanks for your feedback. Since that portion of the table was only 8 inches wide and not technically providing any support at all, it worked for the time that I needed it. That bit was trimmed off once we got the SawStop.
Great vid! I only wish there were a facility to turn off that annoying music.

Great music -- I feel like im in an elevator
Fine basic work-/tablesaw bench for a small workshop (Y) Sadly I had to turn off the audio after a few minutes, just before the super annoying and 1000 times repeated music loop made my ears bleed! But, of course, I thumbs up and subscribed, as the "muzac thing" is just my opinion. (y) :D

Yeah I think that was my 2nd or 3rd video. I’ve come a long way lol
The music reminds me of a 1970's XXX theater with a nasty, old, porn movie flickering on a big screen. LOL... Nice out feed table, but please use a kickback preventer on that table-saw. YIKES!!

Robert Bizzarro luckily I don’t have the Jet table saw anymore. I have a SawStop now. Thanks for watching.
Cool, but I cant see your technique working the common man. Woodworking saw tricks, very cool though

Simply meaning, your approach to building this table seems a bit advanced. I’m fairly new but a quick study. I just built my first table top workbench and complete free standing workbench and a couple of table saw jigs. But I have found that making cuts by eye and not measuring does not work out well for me. I do not recall seeing you measure any of your cuts. If that is not case great, but I am not at that level yet.

J: M.A.C. Oh I definitely measured all my cuts and had a cut list so that I knew what parts needed to be what size. I usually do not show measuring out each cut since it’s sort of boring and repetitive to watch.

Thank you.
You are just begging to lose a couple fingers on that table saw the way you're using it. Might wanna reconsider your technique. Doesn't make a lot of sense to use a push stick in your right hand while you run your left hand, directly over the blade with your fingers between the blade and the fence on your piece. 2:18. Makes me cringe.

@@TwoBitWoodworks A riving knife would be a good idea. To saws in the US not come with them as standard or do you all just remove them?

Andy P this saw is no longer in my shop. The wood was actually getting hung up on the roving knife since it was not a through cut. I had to remove it for safety reasons.
I don’t even want to ask how much $ you have in your tools. Good lord.

This should be entitled 'How to Use Power Tools Unsafely'. I don't say that to be rude/mean but in the hopes beginner's don't make any of a number of serious safety mistakes.
