RELEASE THE KRAKEN!!!!!!!!
Can you use a reaction on your turn?
@@JakeVanDanger as long as something happens on your turn that triggers it, yep!
Watched this just cuz it’s BOTH D4 && Dungeon Dudes- could NOT skip ❤
Homelander?!!?!
Okay random question - where did you get that shirt? I kind of need it 😂
@@inakimartincossio7334 I don’t remember! I’d say just google “Hermione ruby riveter leviosa t-shirt” :)
I've had an idea of a Lycan Bloodhunter/Beast Barb Goblin that is just a FERAL little monster.
They're going to be a...hybrid, you say? 😂
How about a cloud of sharks teeth?
Have the same build but where in your showcase you were making critical hits for 59 (+10 necrotic and +7 fire [from somewhere]) I'm only managing to hit for 15 piercing and 2 acid damage (during a surprise round). Also the weapon tooltip shows the damage range te be between 10-15 instead of your 10-21. I'm missing the Helldusk Gloves and Conduit ring.
One thing about casting Bless, you dont have to worry about casting it because when you ready a spell (like Booming Blade) you have to concentrate on it. So unfortunately you couldn't be concentrating on bless without losing it, but on the bright side no guilt about not casting it lol.
Fortunately, as in 5.5, the Cloud of Pirahnas (Daggers) AoE will finally be movable! Crawford said it in his "new spells" interview video.
@@waitthatsillegal.7552 it’s true, but he also left out a big mechanical change that’s going to alter how we use the spell… really wish he would’ve mentioned it!
It’s been almost a year and I can safely say that you by far have the best BG3 build videos on KZread, coming to bg3 with no experience with 5e every time I watch one of your videos I not only leave with an insane build to try out but you honestly help me to understand the intricacies of all that goes into the build! I love the tavern brawler build so much, I want to start another run with Karlach as the tavern brawler but I also want to use Wyll for a change.. with my character (tav) being the icebreaker build you posted a bit ago, and shadow heart as my tempest cleric to double down on the wet debuffs, how would you build Wyll if you had those three? 😅
@@coma594 probably swords bard with some pally for buffing and smiting :)
@@DnDDeepDive oooo I love it! Thank you 💙
I always listen at 1x speed. I prefer ASMR Colby and can't handle the Chipmunks version. Hell, I never even considered upping the speed until you mentioned it there at the end. I regret that decision. I'm going back to 1x.
Not gonna lie, when you said Bard for Lae'zel, I was like "Okay...that's a weird choice, but I wanna see what you do with it," but as you started explaining, this is definitely something I want to play with. Very...inspirational lol
Simic Hybrid would also work too for more aquatic looking lineage, but of course only if you are in Ravinca.
Simic hybrid is actually better for a kraken theme, if you wanna be a grapplig kraken.
Coooby. Magus Psychic! The synergy!!!!!!
You may want to consider extend spell for 16-hour foresight
Finally went and signed up for a "Master" World Anvil account. I made a free account several years ago but never did anything with it. But now, I'm planning on organizing all my hardcopy world building and maps on the site. Thanks for the discount code! I signed up for a year of the first tier with "no advertisements" (Master) for a total of $28!
This is.a fun subclass. I used it in an Eberron build for a House Lyrandar Lore Bard/Fathomless Warlock. The House lore is all about krakens and the Fathomless was absolutely on point for it.
If you base your character off of the Lovecraft novel Shadow over Insmouth, then you could worship a deep-sea fish godb and be its spawn. Just toss a golden bell into the sea
I love that you already emphasize how much better the game will be if the call of "should I multiclass or not" is a little harder. In 5e, many classes have early power spike levels that can just be chained onto each other with little opportunity cost. In other words: Improved stand-alone classes as well as less front loading of classes are good things for the balance of the game.
I am curious why Simic Hybrid wasn't a consideration for race ?
Oh my goodness the Knick property is gonna dramatically improve my character that dual weilds Daggers. Rogues benefit from bonus actions in so many ways, that's gonna be amazing. Now I can truly live the fantasy of just plunging both blades into a sneak attack simultaneously as one attack rather than two individual swipes. Edit: I agree with you about the Cunning Strike too. It sounds really neat but it still doesnt put Rogue at the level Extra Attack would, so I don't think we should need to sacrifice a resource for those options. Especially considering how many enemies will likely be immune to poison. I think I'd rather have the disarm feature, since with a poisoners kit, I could pre-prepare a poisoned weapon if I know I'm going up against an enemy that isn't immune.
For the racial option, why not the Simic Hybrid? It has underwater breathing at level 1 and tentacles at level 5. Just curious since it is official and was my first thought
Thank you for your information video
This is just hammer bro from mario, and i love it
If you’re will to go completely against the nature theme 3 levels in Battlesmith Artificer gets you a Homunculus Servant and a Steel Defender
Offf topic geeat video but jesus is Magic Spoon Expensive is like 10$ where I live
Sorry, I usually love the singing at the end but there are very few songs that reach the level of annoying that one does.
I’m really dating myself with this reference but we could call it smitey smitey spell tomes?
I feel like people are just shocked that a FIGHTER of all classes is not only finally a viable choice that doesn't get outpaced by full casters and 3/4 casters in the dpr department but also is fun to play beyond just full round attacking and *maybe* using a combat feat assuming the enemy isn't effectively immune to it. It's also made more visible with the overall nerfs to casters 2e saw. Not saying it's bad to nerf what was clearly too powerful but imo they did go a few % too far in some places.
Did someone understand the reference?
Bro you forgot about Simon hybrid! It literally gets you tentacles!
so now auto crit is gone. and you get 1- 10 extra damage, oof. rip, the best thing about that subclass gone. if you say surprise was never a guarantee, then the NEW stuff you get is also not able to be applied. the other stuff that rouge gets is good, the changes to this subclass kills it.
Great video! Though I'm surprised you didn't go for Simic Hybrid for the race, considering their spread of features can get you some very kraken-esque abilities.
lance of lethargy only works once per turn
@@user-cq9fe2ce9j yep.
You can also try a similar build by replacing sorcerer with Warlock - Great old one (gives you dissonant whispers) and then use fey touched for silvery barbs
Thanks for the content.
I'm here because of The Hat. Curse you Perry .... I mean, curse you Pointy Hat for sending me down this rabbit hole.
I’m building something at the moment which is a psychic Kraken grappler. it’s currently a 3 hex blade chain lock with a gazer familiar, 3 astral self monk and 4 aberrant sorcerer. Its race is a quasi-ceromorph which can grapple with its face tentacles and arms. My dm has allowed me to grapple with my astral arms (tentacles) too so up to 5 people grappled. I have enlarge/reduce, , spider climb, thornwhip and a bunch of psychic damage debuff spells and some buff spells. I’ve also got expert feat for athletics. And to top it off my dm let me combine sorcery and ki points into ‘soul points’ which restore on a long rest or on a creature dying within 20 ft of me on a saving throw. I’d love to know thoughts
I love the idea of a mermaid artificer who uses their contraptions to move on land. Like imagine a steampunk bathtub that has crab legs propelling it
AND.....with Sneak Attack, as it is Precision Damage...if your target is immune to precision attacks (ie ghosts, oozes, anything without definite internal organs) the target does not take that damage.
**Backstory:** Kaelin Wavebreaker's origins are shrouded in the depths of the ocean, where he once roamed as a humble cephalopod, navigating the treacherous currents in search of sustenance. His existence changed forever when he unwittingly ventured into the lair of a mighty kraken, a being of unfathomable power and ancient wisdom. Intrigued by the creature's presence, the kraken saw potential in the lowly cephalopod and chose to bestow upon him a gift beyond comprehension - the gift of sentience and the spark of magic. Bound in a pact of servitude, Kaelin emerged from the depths with newfound abilities bestowed upon him by his enigmatic patron, the Tentacled Horror. Yet, the price of his newfound power was steep, as he found himself forever tethered to the will of the kraken, forced to do its bidding in exchange for his continued existence. However, in a twist of fate, Kaelin stumbled upon a wounded triton named Aric Oceanus, who had been left for dead after a skirmish with sahuagin raiders. Recognizing an opportunity for freedom, Kaelin formed a symbiotic bond with Aric's weakened mind, offering him the chance to walk the land once more in exchange for control over his body. Together, they became a singular entity, with Kaelin guiding Aric's movements while utilizing his own otherworldly abilities to protect and empower their shared form. Despite the unsettling nature of their relationship, Kaelin and Aric found solace in each other's company, bound by a mutual desire for freedom and a shared sense of purpose. Now, Kaelin roams the land and sea alike, his mind a battleground between his own desires and the insidious whispers of his patron. He seeks a way to break free from the kraken's grasp, to reclaim his autonomy and forge his own destiny amidst the ever-shifting tides of fate. But until that day comes, he will continue to wander, a solitary figure haunted by the echoes of his past and the uncertain promise of the future.
I think that Aberrant Mind sorcerer or sorlock would actually give you more control options, especially at lower levels, in addition to more spell spots (many more once you get Psionic Sorcery). And you still get Hunger of Hadar *AND* Evard's Black Tentacles. 😉 It would also, IMNSHO, be just as thematically appropriate. 😁
"Spell spots?!!?" I friggin' *HATE* my phone's autocorrect feature ... 🤬
Ah, but I already *did* a build like that :). (Check out “The Mind Flayer” if you haven’t seen it)
Why larian didnt put the psi warrior subclass in bg3 i will never know
Just have to drop my favorite use of Evard’s Black Tentacles from another creator. kzread.info/dash/bejne/hoto2LqEg9q7k7A.htmlsi=_jG66zBi-9KKsCGt
Omg poor unfortunate souls 😂
