Best part of this is you can make a shadow squad with the right builds. Did a dark urge with your ninja guidelines, Wyll with warlock devil sight, let Shadowheart become the justiciar which gave her dark sight too. Very nice dropping darkness and letting those three cause all kind of damage.

Have a safe and fun Spring Break. This could be a really fun multiplayer build. Astarion, Full-Sharran SHADOWheart, and Durge. 3 Ultimate Assassin's. Plus maybe a Darkness lock Wyll. Have each assassin player ready an attack against a target. Have Wyll ready Darkness--or an attack depending on need. Use coms to countdown and all use their pre-combat attacks at the same time and get the full benefit of Assassin's features. The Ultimate Assassin Clan.

I am going to start off by saying that I love the build idea as always. I tried an assassin build in honor run (ranged) and went 6 bard, 3 ranger-gloom, 3-assassin and was able to one shot of the bhaal knights outside of the tribunal. Quick gear advice: obviously Colby is correct with the graceful cloth but once you get to act 3 pick up the bhaalist armor for piercing vulnerability, the crater flesh gloves, and two dolor daggers from the bhaal trader. I understand not wanting to exploit bugs however, dolor daggers add their bonus to multiple damage instances on a crit (base damage, sneak attack, and the craterflesh gloves). So yah if you want big damage.

Playing team based single player games with solo characters is a time honored tradition. I know there are solo builds and challenges for the Mass Effect games and I distinctly remember people doing solo builds for Kotor, even way back when it came out. Kotor was actually one of the first games where I really got into min-maxing my main character and also the first that introduced me to a "video game-ized" version of DND mechanics.

I have used things like the Gloomstalker build, a straight rogue build, a hunter mult build, and a sword bard/rogue build. Was starting to run out of ideas for him. I generally like to keep some element of each companions origin class, and I feel like I have played around with most of the common builds. I built a similar character for a level 20 one shot that a buddy got to play as. I went Haregon, 8 Monk, 12 Rogue. We use maximized criticals, so you roll damage as normal but any dice rolled you also add the maximum they can roll so crits feel good. Using the Red Wizard Blade (Dagger with +3d12 Necrotic) and the max crit, a surprise round minimum damage, assuming both attacks hit is 144 damage (max was 238). With feats this guy is highly mobile, can shadowstep (Nightcrawler all the way), has a +16 initiative and Alert. It's a super fun idea, and I'm excited to test it out.

I think ill probably respec once i hit 12 to 6 Fighter, 3 gloomstalker, 3 assassin. I've been playing as an archer, and abusing the Titan string longbow and drinking strength potions. I'd actually take riposte probably for the turns where we don't finish someone off assuming fighter 3. Joys of assassin's is theres a multitude of great builds that all pop off

Feats were sharpshooter and (because i accidentally killed the hag 😢) I took resilient for the first time ever to get dex to 18, and give profiency in str, dex, con when you start as a fighter. It wasn't a solo run, but Astarion killed 75+% of the enemies before anyone else got a turn. I think only the Ketheric fight took more than 2 rounds the whole game.

I was suprised that you didn't recomend the Dark Urge character background for this build as they get some great story that can play well into going solo - especially if you decide to take the Dark Urge down the evil side of that sub-plot. Also some of the other features you get from this background also would help with solo play, and some of the magic items you get from this background would be a huge boon to an a solo assassin build.

I want to request/suggest another dive into Sorlock blaster in BG3 that factors in equipment! Equipment changes the core mechanics so drastically between effects like crit chance, radiating orb, and/or reverberation! I'd love to hear thoughts on builds who aren't able to get the Potent Robe-- especially since Sorlocks in BG3 benefit from levels in fighter and/or rogue! I really also want to see if a "Jackie Chan" character is possible relying on empty hands and improvised/thrown weapons, ideally dex based-- but that feels like a lot to ask. Maybe a combo of Monk/Barbarian it's a fun fantasy archetype but can it work in BG3?

My current D&D character I have her planned out for Way of Shadow 6, Assassin 3, Echo Knight 11 to make the ultimate ninja. Will have Mobile, Devil's Sight via Eldritch Adept, and capped dex to do some real dumb stuff. Cast darkness on myself to always be able to teleport on a bonus action. Get the ultimate drop on enemies. Shadow clones I can swap places with and flank with for free advantage and therefore free sneak attack. She's gonna be so cool.

Alternate build Idea That I use for Astarion/ my tav all the time: Thief rogue 4, open hand Monk 5, Champion/ battlemaster fighter 3. Graceful cloth + gloves of dexterity gives you a 20 dex. Chug pots of hill/ cloud giant strength. 17 Dex 14 Con 14 Wis 12 int 10 str 8 char Tavern brawler, Savage attacker Short sword/ scimetar as monk weapon in main hand, and off hand. The knife of the undermountain works really well. Two bonus actions allow you to take a bonus action attack and Flurry of blows in the same turn. Boots of uninhibited Kushigo, callous glow ring and The Maelfic ring (I think that's what it's called) to deal 2 acid damage on each attack and two damage of the original source. Fighter is for action surge and it depends do you want a higher crit chance or battlemaster menuvers personally, the increased crit potential with savage attacker is nuts. The horns of the berserker headgear, Cloak of Protection also work insanely well. For fighting style go Two weapon fighting.

i have my own take for this build i wanna suggest that i actually myself plan to use sometime soon being a shadowmonk, hexblade on a variant human using primarily a musket and than a shortsword that would be instead techincally actually strengthed arm wraps meant to protect your heands and woven with metal fiber. the thought here would basically be that your first feat is going straight into gunner and your first level will be into monk with alchemists tools, a proficency in athletics and arcobatics since i will be mostly dumping str and dex as well as scarily consittution someone as my tertiatiary with than you would put your points into primarily chr up to at least 17 so that at level 5 which would be 1 level monk, 4 levels hexblade, your first feat you'll take being shadow touched: chr can bring that up to snuff while than also taking your choice of either inlfict wounds for a complete 'FUCK OFF' type spell especially since you will be casting it with warlock spell slots meaning it will ALWAYS be mega upcast if and when you use it OR false life so that way you can make yourself either tankier or give yourself a mock form of healing if you take a big hit that will last and with a further method to heal yourself being vampiric touch which again, would be super upcast if ya use it. i will now also mention the other reason getting that many levels into warlock first is so important being that you will want to get armor of shadows and at first at least, fiendish vigor which you will later replace with improved pact weapon so you can make and summon ranged weapons which i feel like you can talk a dm into letting you make your musket your pact weapon which is why you hard focus your chr stat so that it and all of your warlock spells like inflict wound and vampic touch do SEROIUS damage meaning you can either sneak up on someone with your proficences mind you being stealth, acrobatics, and athletics to help you get that sneak attack advantage to than either fucking BLAST THEIR ASS with fucking inflict wounds upcast to the 3rd fucking level at level 5 for fucking 5d10 necrotic OR you snipe em at a distance with a rifle that is boosted by your chr stat which would be a plus 4 AND at level 6 gets boosted again by another 4 necrotic on top of also being a magic weapon for another plus 1..... from there you go into monk i would say probably till level 6 to get shadow step to help with your invisibilty from shadow touched and i would say also shroud of shadow at level 5 warlock being a strong contender instead of going for lifedrinker depending on how mean your dm is being with enemies health totals letting you from level 6 have invisibility and than at level 13, you start teleporting around with a rifle in hand that blows holes so large through peoples skulls that it could drop a fucking hill giant in just a few shots before than going back hard into hexblade warlock to level 20 to also boost the accursed shadows you would be creating constantly as you drop people like there was no tomorrow to also draw aggro and again, do some good damage with your high chr which if you want, you could even start your chr higher at 19 since again, i already would have the minimum str, AT MOST 16 dex for intiative and melee, and than probably either 10 or AT MOST 12 con to make room for that higher dex and chr.

A very silly build you could make for 5e is using the weird wording of Tavern Brawler to grapple people at range with thrown improvised weapons. It would almost definitely never work at any table, because no DM would ever allow you to do that, but would be exceptionally funny if you ever managed to pull it off.

In BG 3 there's an achievement for making a character (w/out respeccing) that has a level in every single class. If I wanted to make a main character and play through, in honor mode, what order should I take and what subclasses? Guessing I'd want to start human for a single feat, and either starting rogue or cleric but after that I get analysis paralysis.

It’s literally not. It has a 7.8 on IMDb. It was critically acclaimed and considered by many to be the best of the Disney SW films. Along with Andor being considered the best Disney SW series. It maybe wasn’t the largest box office numbers, because it didn’t have the name recognition draw, but it certainly isn’t, “underrated.”

Drow get Darkness for free at lvl 5 (at least one usage of it). So using it this way could save some Ki points. Or maybe i just like drow in this game and you should too xD Text below got nothing to do with the content of this video (great video, btw, as always), I'm just going once again plug a weird build idea, that only Colby could complete for good old D&D: Triple build based of Trevor Belmont, Sypha Belnades and Alucard for the Castlevania show. Challenge is (except for the fact, that it'd be first triplet on the channel) is to make it work as the synergetic team (like all duo builds do her), not just three characters being in the same party. Yes, i'm making THE castle fight a point of reference here xD Do you actually have to make it? Not really. Would it be (at least as a thought experiment) amazing? Hell yeah. Or just go and (re)watch the show after reading this message, cause it's actually that good.

I know you dont typically recommend weapons but let me at least inform you that you can b-line your way to the arcane tower and collect the club of hill giant strength right after you get done with the fight at the emerald grove and make your melee attacks +4, carry weight much higher and increase your jumps alot, using that club as an offhand weapon. If you stop and get shovel ( without fighting the skeletons) , and it would make the gas traps easier to circumvent by the spectator by the selunite outpost. You should be able to avoid all combat after the grove if you shapeshift into a drow

To be clear, you would take the ladder down to the selunite outpost through the goblin camp. As a drow, they wont bother you... for the most part.

Try out assassin/battlemaster using the bhaalist armor, GWM and a piercing 2hander like breaching pike or Nyrulna. You can even add in 3 lvls or gloomstalker for hunter's mark and dread ambusher atk. I was hitting for over 100 per atk, with the right gear and max rolls it's capable of almost 200 dmg in a single hit.
