Hey everyone! The video seems a little bugged at the moment - it kinda freezes and just spins at around 1:15 - just manually skip ahead to 1:30 or later and you should be good - not sure what the deal is! Hopefully it's fixed soon :).

TBF, it’s partly because BG3 has a comparatively large amount of humanoid enemies. I’d wager it’s a decent bit less reliable in most home games, but when it hits it hits hard.

It's crazy, really feels like a homelander type of character especially after level 6 or 7. I didn't even use hold person as much as I probably could have and it still walked through most enemies like a literal super hero.

Seeing all your builds in these ranking videos and realizing that I've watched a majority of your build videos since BG3 (and I do mean like 130+ at least) has made me come to the realization that you are the reason I haven't finished my BG3 campaign. Because every time that I see a new build I'm like "dang it now I wanna play that from the beginning". Your builds are awesome, love the content and style, and now imma switch back to critlander, thank you.

Anytime I do a sorcerer or wizard in bg3 I find it so hard not to swap to just using scorching ray and on tabletop the flavouring you can do with spirit shroud and how it comes in three elements it’s just *chef’s kiss*

Hey there, wanted to say when the channel started I was just a player and for the last year+ I've been a DM. Been using lots of your builds as mini-bosses, starting with the Shadow Sorcerer - which was an Awesome fight, with some Shadows as minions. Since then done a lot more, the sniper, the poison dart frog, the psionic protector Trio of evil scientists; Mind over matter, song of ice and fire and bladesinger tank And looking over this video it would have been soo great if there was a book with NPC versions of these builds. Maybe each with a full page art for each. I like monsters here and there but hunanoids antagonists feel much cooler to me; allowing for deep background as characters in the world, sometimes from PC's backstories and there is a woeful lack of support rn from Wotc for these types of "monsters" Hope you develop that big-bad idea more. Keep up the great work!

Thanks for all the effort and builds you've made for the DND and other communities. I can't imagine all the time it takes to theory craft, plan, make the builds, do the math and then on top of it, make videos and edit all of them. Love the content. I wanted to reach out and see if you would be interested in making an illusionist build (maybe not illusionist wizard?) that would still be viable in and out of combat but primarily focused on illusions and a playstyle around it. Cheers to the New Year!

Oath of Vengeance or, as I'd like to call it, Echoing Vengeance is still my fave. Very consistent, very little caveats for the max damage, nova is good even in not-so-ideal conditions, sustained DPR is decent with GWM, crazy melee range, scales well with magic weapons. Although I would like to request a build for the highest nova in round 1 without surprise or pre-fight preps

I played in a Holiday 1 shot (granted it was level 11) but it was a SUPER quirky build that I think was right up your alley. I played a Leonin conquest paladin 7/archfey warlock 4. My Dm let me flavor my armor as bones and club as a femur and my character just used fear to lock down the battlefield. I took 13 strength to multiclass and then put the rest in con and charisma. I took telekinetic and used book of secrets for shillelagh and used that for attack and damage. It was SOOOOO much fun rooting all the enemies in place, and EVERYTHING resets on a short rest! It was probably the most fun I’ve ever had playing! And occasionally he hit like a truck using the ol reliable divine smite and the smite spell bonus action.

I've got a gimmick build for you, revenge of the grung. Take a grung BM ranger 5+ and a rogue of your choice and for the pet take a giant poisonous snake and make it a side kick, then take the poisoner feat on both the snake and the grung and do all kinds of poison damage. (I think you could technically have the snake use its bonus action every turn to add some of its own venom to your weapons with the poisoner feat. Also I think you could use that snakes venom as the costly component to make the poisoners poison maybe just add vial and you can negate the gold cost if the feat)

I was trying to craft a HX-Bow Saint build. 2 Artificer, 2 Fighter, 7 Paladin (Conquest), 9 Warlock (Hexblade). Using Eldritch smite to knock a target prone then walk up to them and use your extra attack and bonus attack to shoot 2 more times in melee with the crossbow expert feat. In review the build isn't all that strong and it takes quite a while to get all it's vital components. Though the concept of a holyman shooting someone off their feet, then walking up to shoot them several more times in the face is a powerful image. Maybe you can take the concept and optimize it. I took conquest paladin to use their aura to drop the creatures afraid of them to 0 speed so they couldn't get up while prone. Artificer's repeating shot to allow the character to attack while wearing a shield and make the HX-Bow magic. Improved pact weapon to allow the HX-Bow to be the pact weapon and focus. Fighter for action surge. Sharpshooter feat for that damage boost.

I just had a thought, 2 levels fighter, 2 levels paladin, 3 levels assassin rogue, 3 levels grave cleric. 2 levels sorcerer, 8 levels whisper bard. I probably have the action economy wrong. But you could activate path to the grave, and assassinate, then booming blade and smite with a huge spell slot, which would have physic blades and sneak attack. And then quickened spell to do it all again sans sneak attack, path to the grave and assassinate.

Is there a place that is just an index of all the builds with classes mentioned? Like if I want to find a cool build with circle of wildfire druid, which videos do have one. I cannot find it in the sheet. I can do fulltext search on the writeups, but if I were to search fighter, I would get like 3/4 of builds without being able to filter which is just action surge and which is a real fighter build

If you are concerned about overvaluation for higher levels because high level play is uncommon, you could weight the levels, something like 5/10 3/10 2/10, so if the build explodes in potential only in the last stage it means less than the second or first stage.

The features are potentially good but like most of the Ranger‘s a little meh. Would love to see your thoughts on this subclass. Which you the best for 2024! 🎉

This makes me wonder if this combo is actually useful or could be improved: Hold Person (Reaction) + Grave Cleric's Domain action (Vulnerability) + Quickened Spell (sorc dip or metamagic feat) to use Inflict Wounds as Bonus Action: IF enemy is paralyzed = Advantage (prone) => 9d10 level 1 Inflict Wounds. Also Scribe Wizard can change the damage type of a Wiz spell to another one he has in their book. Could adding Inflict Wounds through a background or feat be considered a Wiz spell? For Witherbloom it says for example "the spells on the Witherbloom Spells table are added to the spell list of your spellcasting class". It makes me wonder if it could be useful for a combination with Tempest Cleric's Domain to transform it into lightning / thunder damage for a crazy max-damage-output. (No Grave-domain vulnerability though sadge)

As someone I trust to be morally sound, I would love to see your opinion, my wife & I are trying to decide if I should or shouldn’t get it due to the mature content and how well the filters work, & if there is anything in it that is immoral(mainly pertaining to being forced to make immoral divisions) Ty for your content & all the hard work you put in.

Obviously I'm not Colby, but as long as you don't play as the Dark Urge and avoid dialogue options that seem romantic in nature, you should be able to play a fully lawful good playthrough. You'll still have to kill sentient beings as in most video games, which some might consider immoral. "Immoral" content is present in the game, but only the Dark Urge character is forced to do that and you definitely have choices on who and what to romance, kill, or steal from.
