Epix 2 with stainless steel bezel and ember 🍊 silicon strap is 🔥
It is rubbish. The unit itself is great, but the software and app are intolerable. Please, please, buy a Garmin.
😂😂 Did anybody else catch the "Cycling Ability" at 9:37? 🥺
Many of the features on the FORM goggles are available via a monthly subscription. Be aware of that.
Yeah, that's a huge issue. This video might have been made before FORM implemented that membership. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
@@mlegrand After 2 years, your video is still helping people. Thank you!
Man, every time I think, “Matt couldn’t get better b-roll, or more cinematic footage “ you prove me wrong! The hard work shows, none of that is easy! Really loving the potential here and the Coros history of constant updates and improvements. Excited to see where they take this! Been part of an early beta group since winter and it’s been cool to see this grow over time.
Ok, then I'm guessing you ran into some odd bugs similar to what I've been seeing. Seems like the COROS development team has their work cut out for themselves.
@@mlegrand yup definitely a few odd ones, the framework is there, but lots of those bugs to squash
For a video that's linked on the box, it's fairly honest about what the product is like
Wait, this video is linked on the box?
@@mlegrand i'll check again but i'm pretty sure it's where it led me to
@@mlegrand nevermind, aparently i zoned off and ended up in your video on a way i don't remember, there's a QR code on the box leading to their channel
@@Ferrari255GTO - Good. I was thinking I wasn't super positive. Or at least I was balanced in the review.
@@mlegrand hey, if a product links in an honest review on the box they have my respect, afterall you already bought it, if an add sells you something like it's the fix to all your problems it's most likely a scam
How is the form versus the Garmin swimming analysis like the CSS?
I've been extremely impressed with FORM's swim analytics tools. I think they're some of the best in the industry but Garmin is hard to beat in that regard and I don't remember seeing CSS on the FORM Swim goggles anywhere.
Still loving my Hammer head karoo, not planing to change it any time soon.... but I really like this innovation from coros.
Yeah, I'm a big fan of the HH Karoo. I should have a review of the HH Karoo 3 at some point in the next 2-3 weeks. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Wow for value 250 is a amazing Yes for 100 days review And your b roll is still amazing I actually watch your videos as soon as I can Happy training
Thank you! I think this computer has a lot of potential. The COROS developers really have their work cut out for them. We'll see how things go over the next 100 days or so. Hope all is well with you buddy!
I definitely love to see this device I’m hoping Coros stats to bike other bike accessories like power meters.
That would be cool! Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Does the pace 3 connect to zwift cycling?
The Pace 3 can broadcast HR which could be picked up by something running zwift to be used within the game.
@@mlegrand thank you so much, for confirming, I wasn't so sure. Pace 3 connects to Strava too? I'm looking to buy a Pace 3 Retro. (Beautiful colors)
Im highly considering this as ny first bike computer. Im thinking of replacing my Samsung galaxy watch in the next couple of years with a coros watch. Would you think that the dura is hoing to be a viable choice for a bike computer?
It might be a decent first option. I would be very curious to see how COROS follows up on it's promises here with the needed software development. They have their work cut out for them. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
About 6 months too late. I sold my Coros watch (which I loved) and got a Garmin solely because I was tired of my running and cycling data existing in separate platforms (Strava not withstanding)
Yeah, I understand that. I tend to make Strava my one spot of truth and everything else is a bit of a mess with different platforms, watches and multiple devices that I'm testing constantly. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Try to find out whats Dura in russian means 😂
Looks like "Stupid" or "I'm a fool". I'm guessing COROS was not aware of that one when they decided on the name. 😂
Great review! Another value from Coros💫Can’t leave it on my bike because I ride several bikes.
I really only ride two bikes outside and my TT bike is relegated to the bike trainer. But I'm still interested to see if COROS can deliver on all of their in this thing. Hope your training is going well. 👌
As always, the visuals, and cinematography is absolutely top tier. I was looking to buy a cycling computer, maybe I will go for this one rather than one of the more traditional ones. What is very unclear to me is if I connect it to a Garmin FR watch, will the activity be synced between both devices, to Garmin Connect, to Coros ? I don't even know if it is possible to mix different brands.
I typically mix and match brands but a Garmin watch wouldn't been able to sync data in the same way as a COROS watch. I'd wait and see if COROS could deliver on some of the big promises made in the product. It feels like it needs to 'bake' for a few months before it's really ready to go. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Good review Matt - and an interesting product. The headline price is good but I'm struggling to get past the looks (and trade-off in screen real-estate). It kinda reminds me of a Garmin Forerunner 305 I bought a few years back - lots of device and not much screen. You have to give them kudos for taking on the established players in this market so it'll be interesting to see how it develops.
Yeah, I can't tell. I think I'll be able to get over the looks in favor of the massive battery life. But even with that, COROS still needs to deliver on some of the big promises made in this product. It feels like it needs to 'bake' for a few months before it's really ready to go. Hope your triathlon season is going well! 👌
That opening b-roll 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 been waiting to see this thing for a while, I think the huge top solar panel is crazy ugly though
I know right? I can't tell if it's something I'm going to get used to or if it's going to annoy me indefinitely. 😬 Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
I don't care about cycling or bike-computers, but I like your b-roll.
Wow, thank you so much! Maybe I should think about making a video about a more general topic outside of all of this sports tech stuff? Thank you ChieLovesKush! I really appreciate it. 👍
@@mlegrand I was thinking your channel would grow like crazy if you reviewed more traditional tech, like laptops or tablets. But you have a pretty great niche already.
@@izefreeze - I'm open to trying new things. In addition to a running coach, I'm also a software developer so there's fun stuff on the tech side that might be fun to explore. 👍
@@mlegrand I was wondering if you were a software developer, in another video you discussed some pretty technical stuff. What realm of software are you in? (I am also a software dev!)
@@izefreeze - I'm a mobile software engineer. I mostly write in Swift but really enjoy it all.
Looks like a great value from Coros! I’d definitely be interested in a 100-day review in the future.
Noted! Thanks Mike! It'll be interesting to see how much the COROS development team can stuff in this thing before it goes to market. 100 day review might be about the amount of time needed. 🤷♂️ Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Horrible and misleading review. Go watch GP Lama or DC if you really want to see how crap this unit is.
I'm a huge fan of GP Lama and Ray but calling this misleading seems like a stretch. I'm obviously not trying to mislead anyone here in this "first look" (not a review). But I guess first looks have plenty of issues just by the nature of them not being full reviews. I agree that this device has issues but also huge potential and I have an entire section about things I wish were different. Either way, thanks for watching and commenting on this one Drone Scene.
IDK about GP Lama but DC has always been very pro Garmin. I found Matt's reviews more balanced TBH.
Pretty good value for the watch. I got the FR 965 after watching your review on that one. Luv how much work you put into your videos. ❤
After staying up late working on one tonight, I’m not sure the effort is worth it in these videos. I might need to find some balance. Thank you for the kind words. Hope you’re enjoying that 165. It’s such a great option. 👌
it doesn't support mapping and non music edition don't have wifi
Thanks for the help Hassan!
So question is one year later. Is it still worth it? I wish Apple Watches could have better battery life. With the new updates coming to it I wouldn’t have to consider switching yet but the battery life of my SE 2nd gen is not even a day worth at this point …
The 965 is an awesome watch but I do think there are many things you’ll miss from your Apple Watch. They’re just smarter smart watches. Tricky call. You could always wait and see what Apple is up to this fall. 🤷🏻♂️
@@mlegrand I think you got a point. I do not have any high hopes but if Apple end up making an Ultra with considerable better battery life I would beat myself up over not waiting for it, so I think I will try to stay patient.
I've never had a smartwatch and I'm between the Venu 3s and the Pixel Watch 2. I think the PW is best for me but after 5+ years as a Pixel & Fi user, I just hate Google customer service. Plus it seems like Garmin watches hold up better in high temps. My Pixel phone always tries to overheat outside, even in my pocket. Leaning towards the Venu 3s.
I think there will be things you will miss about the pixel watch (mostly some of the smart connection features) but this Venu 3 is fantastic. Let me know if you have more questions. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
I bought this watch about a month ago and really liked it, but felt some key features were missing that the 265 had. But, I felt the 265 was a tad overpriced @ $450. I returned the 165 and bought a 265, mainly because of the M Legrand discount Dialed cycling lab gives us - thanks to both of you!! I can't say yet which one is the better deal - but the 165 is a great watch and probably all that most runners need. Too bad there isn't something in the middle as far as price and accessories/options.
Nice! I’m glad you got some sort of discount from Dialed. 👌
12:50 You don't need to spread out GPS devices. They're just radio receivers, so there's no interference whatsoever.
Ok, good to know thank you!
Great video Matt!! Can u recommend to me a budget running watch in 2024, would u go for Coros Pace 3 or Garmin Forerunner 255? Which one is better?
I would probably take advantage of the mega sale on the 255: amzn.to/3VKyidy You might also check out the 165 if you’re interested in the brighter AMOLED screen. I just posted a video about it on this channel. Best of luck!!! 👍
@@mlegrand i see, thank you Matt
FR 165 is a very good watch. They could have included a few more training features for the price, though.
That’s what I thought. I don’t see why some of these features are missing. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
been considering this watch fir a few weeks. i’ve been running w/ the apple watch ultra v1 for the last year and the gps has been iffy at best. I’ve been using the runna app for marathon training and measuring runs on my watch has consistently been off my partners wahoo watch by .25 mile at times. is it worth the adding to the collection to compare the two?
I’d be suspicious of the Wahoo watch. I’d look for any abnormalities with the actual GPS tracks. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
@@mlegrand thank you for the reply. in short, it sounds like I should return it and get the coros pace 3 for my second watch? 😂😂
@@coxii8757 - Wait, if you have the option to return the Wahoo Rival and it’s showing bad data. That might be ideal. 👌

The watch face is cool! What's the name
I don’t know the name but it was something that came with the watch.
@@mlegrand thx
Garmin accuracy... always a tough task to communicate during a concise video. Another nice wearable review & a fabulous intro 🤠
Yeah, it’s tricky to communicate that bit and I’m not sure I did it justice here. Oh well. 🤷🏻♂️
Awesome production and info with this video!
Wow, thank you so much!!!
for me as an average joe it will be ok i think :) i wait for the watch X or my garmin 955 will stay by my side.
I’ll be very curious to see what Apple does for the AW X or 10 or whatever they end up calling it. 🤔
This is a really terrific video - thank you for this comparison. The only problem is I still have no idea which one I like better 😂
I'm enjoying the bolt a lot. 🤷♂️ But I also have a few upcoming cycling computer reviews in the works so I'm biking with a lot of new stuff recently. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
The production quality of this video is ridiculous. Great content too. +1 sub 🤙🏼
Wow, thank you so much for the kind words and the sub! I really enjoy the production part of making these videos. Take care! 👋
solid video
Thank you Jack!
Great review! Finally, a review about the Applewatch that really goes into running and not about all that smart watch stuff(Applepay, Messages, etc.)
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Other than lackluster battery life, my forerunner 45 still works perfectly fine. I think if you are in the market for an upgrade you are better off going with the 255.
Yeah, that 255 is hard to beat. I think it comes down to whether you want the AMOLED screen or MIPs. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
does coros fix heart rate and pace lag?
They have posted some updates. I'd say it's still not perfect. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Does it count steps?
Yes it does. I wouldn't expect any of these rings to count steps super accurately. One of my friend said this ring missed a ton of steps one day. But overall, I've enjoyed this product. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
The ultra reflective screen is THE main reason to skip the product.
Good point. I also cracked the glass on this shortly after posting this video. But it’s an interesting low price option for people who are looking for something slim like this one. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Major GARBAGE... Buyer BEWARE...! Company Does NOT stand behind there product...!!!
Tim, tell us what happened? I've had good results with this power meter but haven't had a lot of experience with customer support.
Just changed to 965 from Enduro 2 for the screen and the battery life is plenty enough for me. Does exactly what I want from a Garmin and the screen is just amazing.
Yeah, it's a beautiful screen. Are you keeping the Enduro 2 just for those time when you want crazy battery life? I still wear my Enduro 2 pretty frequently. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Don’t need the battery life but do need the brighter, clearer screen so sold it
what do you mean by "this watch is 1 year old and garmin can make a new watch"? does this mean the epix gen 2 will no longer work if i own one?
I just mean that I've had that watch for one year. It's a review after a year. Sorry for the confusion.
The moment I got Fenix 7 sapphire solar I turned off the touch screen. It's useful only for moving maps which I don't use. Got Instinct 2x on sale for less than 300 euros - noticed minimal differences between two in data collection and representation. Love both of them.
That's awesome feedback for people to hear. Thanks for posting this. I agree. I don't use maps all that often and this Instinct 2x is a great option for me. Thanks again. 👌
I have the 35 en just bought the 255. 🎉
Awesome. I think you're really going to love the FR 255. It's a great watch and has been very accurate in my testing. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
I'm on the fence between the 265 and 955
Yeah, that's actually a hard call. I'd say if you need mapping or longer battery life go with the 955 otherwise go with the 265. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
