Lab Coat Paul

Lab Coat Paul

Hey everyone! I'm Paul. I fix scooters, cars, and motorcycles, and wear a lab coat at the same time. Pretty cool, huh?

    Good Video However You Had The Perfect Opportunity To Clean And Paint The Rim And Brackets. If I Personally Went To That Much Trouble To Take Everything Apart Like That , I Would Have Painted The Side Case on The Clutch Side As Well . But I Guess That's Just Me

    Hey Paul…seems like I might have bad synchros in my 97 rav4 manual transmission…considering options. Do you know where I might find a rebuild kit for such an old transmission? Or a list of compatible transmissions? Do I just look for the same 2.0 L motor/transmission? Thank you!

    I just bought a 100 50CC flying scooter. I don't know if it's been sinning, but whenever I come to a stop sign or a light, my engine turns off. And not a scooter connoisseur. And I was just learning from watching your video. Would you suggest just buying a new carburetor?

    I'm having issues with my tucson 2018 . My mechanic told me the engine is consuming excessive oil. I have done all my maintenance roughly around 3 to 4k miles. I have an appointment this Saturday with the dealership and see what happens .

    The cost of your oil analysis would almost pay for a 5 quart jug of Mobil 1 synthetic oil (Walmart ) and a filter from the dealer. My advice to friends who buy Korean or European cars : Don't keep them past warranty. My next vehicle will most likely use the Camry hybrid drive train. (Rav4, Vensa, Crown, similar Lexus (probably used)). It has GDI but also has port injection. No turbos, efficiency tuned, no accessory belts. Electric car with gasoline assist. No start stop needed. Engine only runs when it is needed (and to warm up).

    I just watched your whole video. I don’t have a Chinese scooter, I do have a Navi, and I could already do most of what you showed but for some strange reason I was drawn, like a moth to the light and had to keep your vid playing… well done, love your dry humour and I did learn a couple of things… keep up the great work, thank you…. 😊

    It's your pcv if you have gone through and replaced your plug wires and spark plugs and coil pack and your engine maf. That little inexpensive part should be changed at every tune up but it is overlooked and forgot about, this little piece can cause gas in your oil because your crankcase don't have enough vaccume in the crankcase to pull fuel to the combustion chamber, first code it throws is iac or idle control valve idle speed set too high, fuel system bank 1 lean O2 sensor 2 bank 1 heater circuit failure. I'm not kidding anyone who reads this, change that part when you do new coil packs and plug wires and spark plugs.

    Paul, Thanks for Sharing........ I was just curious about the maintenance and repair of these Scooters, I do not own one. Very Well done. FYI, I found that Meguiar's Ultimate Compound works better on "Yellowed Clear Plastic" than the Meguiar's PlastX. I use it on the Meguiar's Ultimate Compound on the Plastic Headlight Lens on our cars.

    I have a Ryobi 160 lb torque impact wrench but it will not take off that bell clutch bolt no matter what I do. I also have a 250lb ft. torque breaker bar that also can't seem to remove the bolt. Idk why I can't just use a screwdriver to hold the Bell clutch in place and break the bolt using the torque wrench or impact wrench.

    Great video if you like these scooters. Their build quality is a shame because they are stylish looking scooters. If you were putting a new variation etc on why not put a racing kit on it?

  • @user-ql6xr6mq7q

    It says in the manual for a Tao Tao Pony 50 Spark plug gap 0.7mm or .028 not 0.6mm .024 and I have called many scooter shops and they told me the Chinese scooters 50cc the gap is .028 or 0.7mm.

    So I own a 2014 Hyundai Accent 5dr with the 1.6 L GDI. I've owned this car from new. No real problems with this car in it's lifetime, aside from effects of driving on crappy roads and rusted out brakes. Always changed the oil twice a year, added fuel injector cleaner to the tank periodically, etc. I just passed 100k, and it started to burn/consume oil with ferocity - ~1L per 1000 km. I just changed the PCV valve, and am trying a seafoam treatment on the oil prior to my next oil change. Your video is a lot to wade through. Is there a fix, other than super frequent oil changes? It's north of $80 CAD + taxes at the least expensive place I can take it, and that's for conventional oil.

  • @LabCoatPaul
    @LabCoatPaul19 күн бұрын

    No you can’t disconnect the driveshaft. It’s not going to improve your gas mileage anyway. You could only drive it 20 mph or slower with the center differential locked and driveshaft removed.
