I wouldn't recommend paying for dating sites, period. There are some services that will charge you hundreds, if not thousands, to join. Their reason being, "Everyone using our service is serious about finding a relationship and you'll have a much better success rate than if you use a free service." The reality is there's no difference, other than you lost a good chunk of money.
That's what I thought when I first tried sites like Match.com. Turns out it was the same profiles in my area from the free sites.
Just got poked in the eye by their ads, thought it would be best to look it up first. Now I like to give it a shot but it seems like alot of work, profiling myself is not my hobby by any means. I tried it as well 2 years ago, after 30 its a bit hard to meet new people and your old friends get family moving away etc...anyway it is somehow even more bizarre and feel forced than online dating, some of the guys replied the same way you mentioned short not engaging (I got used because girls tend to do the same) eventually managed to meet 3 guys for a beer 3+ hours each, the first half hour was really cringe everytime (like even more than meeting with a girl) two ghosted me after one hanging out the third left the country because he was here temporarly... then I gave up

As a woman on there when you do find someone you like they think youre a scammer or a psycho. Bumble and tinder are more better class of guys in uk. A lot of guys on pof dont work or know how to spell properly
10+ years ago I think there was only 1 paid subscription price to get almost all of the features they have now. The free one let you read messages, but not respond. I had the paid version when I was 26-31 on and off getting a fair amount of dates and met 2 girlfriends.

I've tried a couple of apps before and it didn't take me long to realize the apps are fake. From my research, most of the members are men. so in order to make the men stay interested in the apps, the developers create bots that send out fake profiles and once the men try to chat with the fake profile, the bot will reply back. At first, the replies seem like they are from a real woman, but then later the bots have reached their programmed responses and then they don't make sense and/or the replies are not consistent. Meaning, the bot answered a question one way and then later when I asked the same question earlier, the reply was much different. At that point, you could tell that you were not talking to a real person, because you've confused the bots. For a review to be upfront, honest and to the point, an interview should be with the developers of the dating app who walks the reviewer through what really goes on at the site. The app developers show real time chats over the course a week or a month. Then the reviewer can honestly say the app is for real or fake.

And to think Bumble wants to rebrand into a overall social app.....so now they want to gatekeep basic friendships.
I don't get the exclusivity of RAYA... there are people smashing it with big names thru regular social media and dating app... RAYA is just for fishing people in a inner circle mess of themselves.

When I matched with a woman on, Facebook dating, we got chatting and she let me know as she put it, “You won the jackpot, baby,” And showed me that she had temporarily shutdown her account and showed me how many chats with other guys she had. She had at least 30 chats. Our chat was in the middle. She had many chats pending. So, if this had been a feature on Hinge… I wonder if we would have matched at all? As it was me who liked her profile first… I can see a pro to this system. But also a con.
