The coffee date is low commitment and low cost. If it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. You gave it a try. Coffee date is like a pre-date to see if the person is worth the investment of your time. To me I am a fan.

Good topic Nick! I did a bunch of dinner/drink dates rotating with coffee dates. Even did a dinner and hockey game. The game was for me 😁 I finally took inventory and woke up. And I was mainly pissed at myself for blowing money for no good reason. When people show up and they look nothing like their photos and you're meeting for dinner? Nope. Won't set myself up for this ever again. After the wake up I joined the coffee date religion. Gals who object, immediately out themselves as in it for the free meal, princess treatment, or the fact that they have nothing positive to say about themselves over a cup of joe.

The hockey game idea isn't half bad!

Without sounding to corny, i look at coffee dates as kind of a relationship reconnaissance mission where both ppl can scope out if there's a further interest in pursuing something that has a potential to be gratifying. And just walking with someone is an unpressured way of psychologically letting the guardrails down in hopefully finding how honest someone is. Good topic.

Hey nick good video! I met my girlfriend while she was running errands at the mall after talking in hinge for like two days and have been in a loving relationship for two years now! I think the key is meet after a few days to flush out the serial texters who are just bored and pick something that doesnt have to coat money or not alot of money

I should probably use this strategy more. I tend to do casual dinner dates at places where you don't have to tip and there's no alcohol she could order. But even that still runs at least 30 bucks, so coffee would probably be better to start.

In terms of online dating? It sounds funny, but use the five words "Too good to be true". Some clear signs? Blurry pictures, maybe a screenshot for one (like it was clearly taken from someone's profile). If she isn't answering anything, or just auto responds. Like asking how her day is and you get a response that isn't to your question. Some kind of link to a site, or asking you download anything right away. Also extremely attractive (the 5 words come into play) like super model attractive basically. Really far away, any of these are great to watch for

I find it odd how a coffee date is seen as offensive. I get it though as it can be seen as being, cheap and easy and shows low effort. I mean you’re meeting a total stranger, someone you matched with and have exchanged texts with and maybe voice messages and rarer, a video call. But there’s no real substance to that, aside from you know you get on, enough. Still. You’re meeting a stranger. It’s public, so safe for both. And you’re seeing if you will vibe, taking in each others presence and finding out if your social cues line up, and how you’re legit attracted to each, or not. Going to big effort for a big meal, only for the company to be trash, but you’re still paying for an expensive meal… hell with that. Thats a lot of commitment and let down that leaves a bad taste in your mouth and tarnishes future experiences. Coffee date is good for both, as it more casual, doesn’t cost too much either side and if need be can call it quits after a few minutes but if its going well you can still lead to a dinner later. Dinner date too, you have to sit in someone else’s company for an extended period of time whom you don’t know.
