I'm not sure why your video popped up in my KZread feed, but it's timely since I just started online dating 2 months ago. 😅 First, I would recommend watching this episode of John Oliver's show "Last Week Tonight:" called "Pig Butchering Scam" here on KZread. The scammers are much much better at tricking people and much more organized than most of us Westerners believe. Also, another interesting fact that I didn't believe at first is that we young people and NOT old people get scammed more! I think it's because we assume we are too smart to be scammed, and also, it's because we think most scammers are bots or foreigners with bad English accents like you mentioned in this video. But organized scammers are real people and speak great English. Only 2 months trying online dating, and this is what I noticed/ experienced: 1. She's in your city, but on vacation in a foreign country: Scammers will change their location to your city and once you start talking to them then they say they took a trip and are stuck over seas (in their real country) could you help them out PLEASE! 2. And I hate saying this, but it's mostly Asian women from 3rd world countries that do this: They will talk to you speaking good English over the phone and even video chat face-to-face! They will suddenly have an ill child or ill family member, and they will keep "casually" bringing it up to see if you volunteer to help. If you don't, then eventually they'll just straight out ask (promising to pay you back, of course). I've actually had 4 different girls say to me directly: "But you're American! You can afford it because you're rich!" 🙄 3. Beauty!: So I'm going to push back "a little" on the statement you made about the photos being of beautiful women. Yes, that does happen sometimes, but from my limited experience, it's actually more average looking (especially innocent looking) women that are used in the photos. Maybe scammers are getting wise to the ridiculously beautiful women as bait not working, so they're using more realistic looking girls to trap/trick men. I know you said that you are kind of against Whatsapp, but from my limited experience video calls are an excellent way to at least prove the women you are talking to are the same people in their profile photos. 4. Message from women in different States: these scammers are (in my opinion) the easiest to spot because NO beautiful woman would message a man 3 or 4 States away (I'm speaking about America) because beautiful women have their pick of men in their own city lining up to date them! 5. Men: I honestly don't know why, but many gay men will try to shoot-their-shot even though my profile says straight, and I mention looking for women in my bio!!! 🙄 But at least they use their real pictures and don't pretend that they are women. Old: I've been messaged by a few older women, but again, it's mostly old men! And when I say old, I mean like my grandfather's and grandmother's age! They used to try to offer me money 🤢, but ever since I started putting in my profile that I'm a college student in a very prestigious and lucrative field that has slowed down greatly! 6. Bikini pictures as their main profile picture: These are usually scammers in my experience. They are usually very attractive AND very accomplished financially. Not always the type of scammers to take your money but the type trying to gather followers for their social media accounts. These women are real, and they're American but are NOT on the app for dating! I did have one who even tried to get me to follow her only fans. 😳 Besides bikini pictures these women will also usually have a picture or two showing them dressed to the 9's very professionally and sometimes with a very exotic, or luxurious background (on a hotel balcony showing a beautiful beach in the background or in front of the Effel Tower in Paris. Again, their only purpose on the dating app is to get thirsty men to follow their social media so they can brag about having thousands of followers. 6. Transgender women. I'm NOT homophobic and I'm NOT transphobic. I can and will be friends with anyone as long as they are a good person. But romanticlly, physically, and sexually I desire a female that was born a woman. This one is tricky because they are real. They have no problem agreeing to a video call. And unlike how smart we think we are, many can pass as women; so spotting one is 50/50! Some admit upfront in their profile that they are transgenders and some "try" to get you to fall for them before revealing the truth. The easiest way I have found to spot a transgender from her picture is a.) Her strong jawline b.) Overly sexualized pictures. Not always in a bikini, but still very suggestive c.) Very fashionable. I mean, dressed to the 9's like she is about to appear on a magazine cover. Most ordinary women don't put that much effort into what they wear in their pictures, and most avoid anything even remotely sexual like the plague! Everyone deserves love and respect, so don't use this in a negative way. This is all that I can think of based on my 2 months with online dating. 🤔

Also other signs of a fake profile are when they use an influencer or even a porn stars picture. Another way is if they say I will only meet you if you get me gift cards or something like that.

Biggest thing I’ve seen is the photos seem to be staged not in a natural setting. Such as a model posing with a hand bag or sitting on furniture opposed to at restaurants with family or friends, or outside . Another one is extremely attractive females that is clearly outside your price range contacts you.

Just out of curiosity are you going on these trips alone? I tried that recently to Europe from the US and it was a very stressful trip. Hopefully as I do it more I'll get more comfortable.

@@NickGDaniels I think it was just my anxiety. I was in Paris. The worst thing that happened was I got lost in an office park for 3 hours ha ha and then not being able to get out of the metro cos I bought the wrong ticket so a worker had to let me out. I was so nervous I didn't even try to go to a sit-down restaurant so I ate street food the whole time. Still I wish I stayed longer.

Hey man, do you think its possible for bots to pass photo verification? I have a theory somehow they can, on certain apps. Hinges not so much, my front camera is cracked so it took a lot of tried to work. Bubbles verification, being not reliable either. What do you think nick? Cheers man, wishing you well

Easy. Submit a real photo and verify with the same face. When verified they can go ahead and change their photos to a dog if they wish.
