I'm 31 so basically the same age as you, and I think there is a definite difference between us millenials and gen z when it comes to phone addiction. I think the 25 and under crowd has a serious problem with not having social boundaries when it comes to constantly getting on their phones. The people our age (30ish) were the last dying breed of people who grew up with the first part of our childhood being "analog" and relatively limited in access to technology. I didn't even use the internet until around 2003 when I was 10/11, and didn't have a cell phone until I was 17.

Having worked the public service sector for a few decades, i run into that behavior U describe. It's a type of nonsense that displays an inability to fathom respect for someone else, and i've reached a point in my life where, once exposed to it, i'll just ghost them by leaving without saying a word because that is a way of showing them i won't put up with this kind of shit. Like, it's not the FIRST time it's happened and it isn't going to be the last unless you can accentuate how wrong this type of behavior is. In the past, i've had ppl ask me why i was so rude to just leave. Say what? Once i point out why, they'll mostly provide a version of "Why didn't you tell me?" I shouldn't of had to, to begin with! Respect!
