    Hey mate, I want to try a mix of glass bead and aluminium oxide to speed things along. Have you tried this, and if so, what mesh aluminium oxide do you use?

  • @ArmouryEnterprises
    @ArmouryEnterprisesАй бұрын

    Hey Simon, I responded by email but figured I would answer here too for anyone else wondering. I use AC grade glass beads (250-150 Micron) and Brown AO (125 - 106 Micron) at about a 50/50 mix. I have brown AO because that was what was in stock, but it clouds up the water very quickly. White may be better in this regard. Cheers Josh

    @@ArmouryEnterprises Do you think having a shorter airhose would be beneficial on smaller compressors?

  • @ArmouryEnterprises
    @ArmouryEnterprises2 ай бұрын

    It can help, but it depends. If you have a 10m long 1/4" hose and you cut it down to 1m, it will have a small improvement. But if you have a 10m long 1/2" line, the difference would be practically imperceptible.

    What volume of pump should I use for a cabinet , the size of the red one , behind you. My budget and need i think is closer to an old dish washer pump, someone is throwing out lol.

  • @joshhubbard5026
    @joshhubbard50263 ай бұрын

    Depends on whether you plan to run it in the cabinet or in a reservoir underneath. If you are only able to get a small pump, you don't want to have it lift too high. I usually aim at around 9000 - 18000l/h. I would recommend looking for a second hand submersible pump. You can get them pretty cheaply. You can make dishwasher pumps work, but there are a couple of restraints. The flow rate is relatively low, and they are not submersible so plumbing can be a bit more complicated.

    Hi what do you use to stop finger marks after you have finished the job and its dry. Wayne.

  • @ArmouryEnterprises
    @ArmouryEnterprises7 ай бұрын

    Hi Wayne. Personally I just leave it. Vapour blasting with glass bead closes the surface of the material and dirt doesn't stick in the same way as it would after dry blasting. Some people will protect the surface additionally with products like ACF-50, or by applying a clear coat. Cheers Josh

    A press, 4 ton or better, A sturdy vise and a 24 inch pipe wrench to straighten the clamp. A propane torch to heat and loosen the rusted screw if pen. oil won't work. A 4 1/2 inch grinder and a flap disc, 120 grit. A loose wire cup wheel for the grinder. A knife edge file to clean up bad threads. No need for a blaster or any plating.

Looking at getting them into Australia, but sorting through logistics and tax/duty atm to work out whether it will still be viable or whether it will push the price too high. If I can sort that out I will look at other countries too. Cheers Josh

    Do tou think the laser Rust remover Will and blast cabnet ?

  • @ArmouryEnterprises
    @ArmouryEnterprises8 ай бұрын

    That depends on the advance of the tech. Currently laser rust removal systems are still very expensive. Eventually someone will figure out how to make them cheap and at that point, entry level sandblaster will be done. Vapour blasting may hold out a bit longer but eventually laser will advance to the point that you can adjust the surface finish and will displace vapour blasters too. I hope I understood your question correctly. Cheers
