Mad Max Compressor and Vapor Blaster
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In a shout out to our Aussie mates over the ditch, and in a long yet stealthily teased video - Over 40 Years after the Mad Max graced our screen I bring to you: the first post-apocalyptic themed compressor and vapor blaster.
This a test run of the new experimental compressor made from a converted engine. If we can get it to function reliably and make it replicable I will release more details at a later date.
Thanks for watching!

Thanks Nacim!
Inspiring. Engine based compressors in the US use to be based on Ford 302 engines, one special head so one entire bank was a compressor. They were beasts. I have a big pump but no electric motor to run it I should put on an electric start gas engine

Yeah I would love to upsize this build! I also have a compressor built from an air-cooled VW engine that I am about to rebuild when I get a chance.
Im curious as to how the car engine compressor works. The air out the exhaust is clearly going to atmosphere, are you running it on less cylinders and using those cylinders as air outlets to the receiver? I don't see any air pump... Unless you're driving a pump off the crank pulley?

Hi Ryan, This compressor splits the engine in two with one half acting as the drive engine, and the other as the compressor. Thanks for watching!

@@ArmouryEnterprises Ok figured as much, runs pretty smooth for only 2 cylinders! Really cool idea - do you know what the CFM would be on it?

@@RyanBurisch No idea. I haven't had the chance to sit down and try it out. I think there are a few things we could do to improve efficiency but I would guess it is quite low. It won't go over 80psi. I would guess its around 15 CFM. I have a 50cfm Air cooled VW compressor that works on similar principles. I think that we can get more efficiency out of it, that we could get it closer to that number. We were really surprised at how smooth it runs. It definitely needs a decent muffler though.
Nice one josh just make its a got a pop off valve on it mate iam not saying it hasn't just be careful bud whats it gunna be a mobile vapor blaster or something mate ?

Yeah it still has a safety valve. Oddly enough it won't go over 90PSI for some reason. We need to do a little more research into why. But for now it seems to be pretty well self regulating. Nah its pretty much just a trial rig. We will see where it goes from here but no long term plans
What the
