    Might it be because it's not a straighforward FFP rule violation like Everton and Nottingham Forrest but a decade long fraud where actual laws were probably broken as well. 🙄

    Bayern have been unmanageable ever since key players - Muller in particular, but also the other veterans such as Neuer - threw the towel to ensure Ancelotti got sacked 3 months into the season because they wanted him to train them like Guardiola. The same Ancelotti who is now kicking their butts. Way too much player power there. Also winning 11 domestic titles in a row has distorted expectations and any manager will be judged against that. To put things into perspective: imagine if Heynckes had been sacked in 2012 after losing 2 finals and finishing 2nd in the league? There would have been no treble in 2013.

    Anything that's "tied to the income of X" is just pretend play. All that needs to happen in that case if that you grow the "income" part of the calculation through bogus sponsorship deals and selling players at inflated values. If you keep inflating this income you can expand your expenses as well, and the deficits allowed by the Premier League are ridiculous. Which is exactly what the most successful English club of the last 15 years, Man City, are all about.

    The way that Lopetegui threw his dummy out at Wolves shows his childish, atrocious behavior. The same will happen at West Ham. Should have stuck with Moyes. West Ham to fight relegation next season.

    Pochettino seems to be making some progress with the team. Look how Arteta has progressively brought his Arsenal squad around making a few key changes each year. This Chelsea squad is young and riddled with injuries which make it hard to be consistent and play with cohesiveness

    Title: "Can Arsenal break Old Trafford curse?" Actual podcast: Let's talk about how good Man City are and how "weirdly" Arsenal can't rotate as much as them despite spending only 1/3 of the amount they have since Pep has taken over. I'm a Liverpool fan, so this isn't coming from a place of bias, but I feel like The Athletic, particularly this podcast, genuinely has something against Arsenal. You dragged Whites name through the mud, you constantly reference "how much" Arteta has spent despite it being less than 5 other clubs since he has took over and you very rarely want to focus on the good they're actually doing. It's really strange.

    Arsenal have drawn once and lost once in the league this calendar year, and won every match other than those two. They will sweep Ten Hag back to Holland.

    There's no Old Trafford curse but rather match officials against Arsenal at Old Trafford. Northern United supporting referees always throwing mud at Arsensl at Old Trafford then headed by Mike Riley.

    City off the pace is the stupidest comment ever…. How about we have had the most competitive PL season in PL history with a strong battle for both the title with 3 competing and for top 4. No City aren’t off the pace at all, it’s just been the most competitive PL in history

  • @Cafez27
    @Cafez27Күн бұрын

    The Athletic is usually insightful, or perhaps I should say David Ornstein is. Look here are the facts, as an Arsenal supporter. City are the best squad and have been for 5 or 6 seasons now. Pep inherited a PL winning side, spent heavy early, and have built what looks like an unassailable advantage with heavy spending early on. He is a wonderful coach as well. Arsenal and Mikel are on a different trajectory, in that we are lagging behind the legacy spend and stratospheric salary bill that City is carrying. City are the best team, it’s marginal now, Mikel has built a team capable of challenging, but it is short of the players needed to dethrone City, which they will hopefully put right in the summer. Arsenal are so good, they are a very very good team, improving them isn’t easy, it’s marginal gains now. Ollie Watkins is very good, but he doesn’t make the difference. In part there is something about letting the Arsenal forward line off leash and let them be their creative selves. And adding some world class talent.

    Lots of talk about the supposedly huge step from Feyenoord to Liverpool. "Feyenoord is only regional" not true: Feyenoord has fans all over the Netherlands, Belgium and many other countries all over the world. Ajax has been much more successfull over the decades but Feyenoord is just as popular. And was the first to win the Europacup 1 (the old CL) and world cup in 1970. And they won the Uefacup twice (in '74 and 2002). "The Eredivisie is just a small league", used to be true for many years but we've climbed to place nr 6 in the Uefa ranking right behind France. So it's the biggest of the smaller leagues. "... so there's no way we can know how he'll perform in the PL" so how about looking at the 30 European cup matches in the last 3 seasons!? Eliminated Union Berlin (nr 5 Germany that season), Olympique Marseille (French nr 2), Lazio (Italian nr 2) and gave Shaktar Donetsk their largest defeat ever (7-1) to name a few. Except the last one all much richer clubs. And Slot has been used to playing 2 matches a week. Performing even after hard European matches with as little as 60 hours recovery time. He has implemented Liverpool's intensity identity from the start at Feyenoord.

    Ayo not laughing off Ragnick and recognizing his positive job at Austria NT shows how good he is as a host. The Tifo boys have been proven very wrong by Arteta now they are trying their hardest to down play he’s achievement. His competing with half the wage bill of Citeh, & less then Pool with the so called best manager/s ever. Really pathetic from Jon trying to detract of the incredible job Mikel has done. Now he talks about being lucky, what a clown. I will drink yours & doughnut boys tears when we win titles , this one or in the years to come. Arsenal will raise their ceiling which will allows us to rotate. We also won’t do it by financial dopping & 115 charges of our fraud. Do better!
