I'm Nora--and this is Also Known as Nora Knits!
I plan to utilize this channel to share my love for knitting and any other hobbies I might find myself obsessing over.
Alongside my trusty companion, Osi, I'd like to build a crafty community full of people who can learn to laugh at themself from time to time. I believe that all of the imperfections are what make something so perfectly handmade.

Why didn’t you just buy iron on number/letter at a cloth store or ordering them on Amazon?
Oh I am very much looking forward to this tutorial I absolutely HATE picking up stitches for button bands!!
The Messi Dressy is amazing! You are such an inspiring knitter! If you want a tiny easy bit of lace with a lot of bang for your buck (and something you can make with less than 2 full skeins of fingering) give the Confetti Crop a try. It’s so speedy, perfect for that random skein of fingering and is really easy! Thank you for the podcast!
What was your gauge? Mine was 20 sts and 24 rows. That is one thing I have found frustrating as people post their projects. It would be very helpful to know the gauge for each person’s project. I had to tink back to the set up row and go up two sizes. I’m going with that and hope for the best.
You’re amazing. We had the game on in the background and all I could think about was “Messi Dressi”. You deserve all the attention for your fabulous work of art.
The Messi Dressy turned out soooooooo amazing!! Absolutely love!
So happy to read all bout the success of the Messi Dressy! The whole time you were making it I was thinking that the media and crowd were going to lose their minds over this and I was ridiculously happy for you that they more or less did, especially the little girl you talked about. And like another commenter said, it's why we create. A Magnum Opus (or merely one of many for you I imagine). Brava..

Loved your story on teaching the little girl about mistakes, a remind for all of us. Stunning Messi dress.
Bravo Nora!!! on completing your Messi Dressi garment. I was in AC this past weekend saw the game instantly thought about you. Glad you had your Red Carpet moment. "Queen from Connecticut". Impressive. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us.
Congratulations on ✨ Starring in the Messi dress ⭐ and many congratulations to the winners! I also participated in the #stashbustspring and won so much! Many finished objects, lots of yarn used, lots of creativity and lots of entertainment from you, so big thank you! Next, let's make another knitting challenge fro the summer knits
Watching you each week is like a visit either to spa or a retreat with all the good feelings. The little girl story is so good. The fact that you got stopped so many times at the game is exciting. You have such perseverance in your process( waiting for the cricut piece) and not giving up or cutting corners. Your vision came to life, and beyond. Thank you for sharing your stories...my weekly ted talk visit.
Wowsa, congrats on finishing your Messi Dressi on time it is fabulous! I love hearing your excitement and the whole experience at the game.
👏👏👏👏👏👏🎉🎉🎉🎉
Oh so fun. Congratulations on the messy dressy. It was all worth it. I just put my tubing on the end of my needles and just work enough to get the room for trying on, then I don't have to remove my needles.
Congratulations on your Messi dress it must have been so much fun wearing it to the game
The dress came out so good! ❤
Love the dress. I wanted to watch the game to see if you would get interviewed. I couldn’t get the game. So excited for you.
I think hitting the row in the cable chart is more important than the exact length as you need to be in the same on the fronts and backs when you start working back and forth.
Well done on the Messi Dressi.I tturned out FABULOUS!!! 👍👌👌
27:00 I can completely relate, we always need a mindless knit and a mindful knit to give ourselves a break in between all the intellectually stimulating knits ❤
Ahh the Messi dressy looks great! I’m so glad you got it done just in the nick of time! I am currently knitting the Kuutar tee by Sari Nordlund and I’m really enjoying it. It’s my first time doing a proper summer knit in a bamboo/cotton yarn.
I crocheted for years through childhood and adulthood. Then a few years ago I picked up knitting. With crochet, I always did the standard weaving-in ends back and forth. I learned from Kay Litton (Crazy Sock Lady) to actually weave through the yarn strands and not just back and forth through stitches. This has made a huge difference for my speed and sturdiness, and also hiding the ends. I wonder if this will work with crochet stitches just as well? I use it for knitting socks and nothing has ever unraveled.
Super Congrats on the Messi Dressy! It looks fabulous on you, is definitely "handmade" rather than "homemade", and its obvious you had a great time wearing it and engaging with all the admirers. You should think about publishing the pattern. Think how it could be adapted for different teams, etc. I love, love, love the striped tank. It fits you perfectly and the colors are a great complement to your complexion and hair. I also love the oversize cable sweater. I can see that as a great piece for lounging on the couch on a fall evening as well as on the beach. Once again, a great episode! Also, congrats on inspiring that young girl with uour perfectly imperfect motto.
Messi dressy is fabulous and looks so good on you. Congratulations to all the winners 🎉
I agree that superwash wool can feel kind of plasticky. 🤨
If I plan too much, it always changes. I’m happier knitting the project that’s got me hooked now, and maybe have one or two in the wings, but I decide each one just in advance of starting. Planning too far ahead-or holding myself to plans made in the past-makes me feel less alive. Thanks for helping me figure this out. 😂😂😂
Someone needs to TAG MESSI on this
Your Messi Dressy is such a flattering neckline on you 👏🏻
The Messi is fantastic! So fun! I’m knitting my first ever cardigan with a double knit button band which I have been doing over the last few days and for nearly every row I kept thinking of the monumental task you have of doing an ankle to ankle button band. You rock! I finished my band last night and one side is a good two inches shorter than the other so I guess I didn’t pick up as many stitches on that side, so I’m going to knit the second sleeve and then undo the band and start again though I think I will only need to undo about a third of it.
I'm so happy for you. It's always nice to have people's admiration when you work so hard on a project. You deserve it !!! Did your team win?
How fun to hear the joy the Messi dressy brings! ⚽️ Score!!
I’ve had so much fun grinning over this dress with you!! Brava! 🎉
Congratulations 🎉 to all the winners and everyone who participated! The Messi Dressy looks fantastic! I love how wonderfully it was received because you worked your behind off to create something so stunning. Happy creating 💚🧶💚
I have to show my son your finished Messi dressy! He's a huge Messi fan. Also, I had to pause the video and go buy the Sailor Swift pattern before you finished 😂 I have had it sitting in my Ravelry cart for 2-3 weeks. After seeing yours, you completely convinced me I need one! ❤
That Messi dressi....girl! Inspirational ❤. Love that
Wow! Your epic experience making your Messi Dressy and the finished dress is mind blowing and a testament to your skill, intelligence, and determination! You look like a movie star in your dress! More gorgeous than any currently trending crochet dresses out there! The closest I’ve ever got to what you described was when I crocheted a dress for my daughter for a concert in 10 days and then having to quickly hand-hem the under slip in the hotel room before the concert. When we were waiting in line for the restroom at the arena, a girl around my daughter’s age turned around and asked her, “I like your dress! Did you make it?” And my daughter said, “No, my Mom did.” ❤
You are such a pretty person. Your dress looked so great, job well done❤️
You did SUCH a fabulous job with the Messi Dressi! Good for you, Nora! I hope you always look at this dress and feel the straight of accomplishment you showed in the video today 😊
Such a fun selection of knits on your needles. Congrats to all the winners.
I’m not crying, I swear! 🥹
I'm in my stripe era too - have you seen Rebecca Clow's Leith striped cardi...or Andrea Mowry's Douglas cardi...? DREEEEAM
So happy for you that you got the perfect evening in your Messi dress after all the hard work and last minute struggles. And it looks fantastic on you!
Wow! The Messi Dressy is an absolute triumph! My father and his family were from Argentina 🇦🇷 and I wish he could have seen it. Well done! Also, I had zero interest in making the Sailor Swift top until you tried yours on and gosh, now I am going to make one! Thanks, this episode really made me smile!!😊
Hi Nora! You look aweome on your Messi dressi! Just a quick comment to practice my english🙃... The word Mecha (as it is an Uruguayan yarn I assume it is spanish for wick or strand) is pronunciated me(like in melody) cha(like in "cha cha cha" or in Chattanooga)😅 Love your channel!
I totally get it, Nora. I'm also someone who LOVES complex, challenging, mindful projects, but I also need the mindless ones to give my hands and my brain a break from counting yarn overs. I think the thing we often forget about making plans is that life is about changing and growing...and if your plans change and grow with you, then I view that as a success, not a failure.
Love it, I feel so much second-hand pride at how well the Messi Dressi turned out! It looks sooo good too, I'm sure it felt great to get all those compliments!
The dress is just the ultimate WAG and so gorgeous on you. Such a cool craft milestone and memory 🩵 also obsessed with how your tank is fitting you!
So cool. What a great job you did on your dress. Love all your videos. 🎉🎉😊keep up your positivity you display. You made my day.
You’re a Queen for sure! I ❤ the Messi Dressy very much and your stories. Congratulations 🎉
