I have several videos featuring Speed Queen's TC500WN & the iconic Whirlpool Direct Drive washing machine in the Kenmore brand.
Most of my videos are full length and in HD quality. I try and honor requests to please my subscribers.
New content coming in 2022.
I am hoping to feature more than just washing machines. :)

So beautiful 😭 Thank you for sharing. Brought back great memories
Nothing like a direct drive to tenderize new jeans
I have this kenmore elite .having a issue after water drain it making alittle unusual noise going over into the spin cycle.sometimes I'll turn to make it spin and then it spins out fine! Any suggestions thanks so much
Could be your pump or clutch. If you make a video of the issue, that will help
I can definitely hear the difference between the earlier style pump in this machine. They have such a really cool higher pitched sound to them. They sound like they mean business..
From my observation, it also drains faster too
@@MatthewJames-st5wv yes I’ve noticed that too
That’s what’s great about a Direct Drive. You’ve got yourself an instant KitchenAid.
Yes. But the reason my next washer will be a KitchenAid is due to build quality and design. I love the way those machines looked
@@MatthewJames-st5wv Yes me also. Especially when they were using chrome on the panels. I can tell the difference between this KitchenAid and the whirlpool gold I have . The lid for one is definitely heavier and it has a more solid feel. Not that the whirlpool doesn’t but there is a definite noticeable difference. even the body of the machine feels a little more rigid . Probably due to the sound dampening pads inside. What I would like to know is if KitchenAid by the time they made my machine was still using zinc in the cabinets.
@@patcola7335 I wonder if yours has the insulation around the outer tub like the Catalyst has. Between that, the the motor shield, cabinet sound absorbers and the piece on the bottom, these were about as perfect as a washer can get.
@@MatthewJames-st5wv What would’ve really been nice is if Whirlpool had offered their various direct drive agitators all with big bases. Would love the lint barrel Surgilator with a big base in the KA.
I love that color of agitator. One of my favorites
It certainly loved turning over those sheets, and they probably came out very clean with minimal wrinkles. I liked the neutral drain sound as well. Nice video!
It did a great job with that agitator, at first when you said you were only going to use a medium high water level for three sets of queen size sheets I said to myself he's crazy, because you need a full tub of water. But it did have wonderful rollover. All the permanent press cycle does is give an extra rinse.
Yeah I use it to help rinse out some soap.
Stereos are ugly but the old ones have excellent sound
I have it setup in my living room. I don’t think it’s ugly at all. To each their own
My favorite dual action agitator! Loved the look of these. Don’t understand why we don’t have the Gain Splash in my state. How much different is the scent from original? I’m sure it’s quite Gaintastic.
It’s so perfect in this machine with the white tub. Don’t get why they stopped making them in turquoise. It’s just so eye catching and makes for a more interesting experience. And the performance is excellent! Same results from a regular dual action on the Hi speed, but more gentle!
I had the same exact washing machine Kenmore 90 Series for 15 years. How I miss it. And yes! You where able to control the wash action-agitation,
Loads of whites have always been my favorite in a machine like this because of how clearly you can see the lower agitator through the rinse water. I loved when my mom and I would gather all the white t-shirts and socks and underwear and get it started in our KitchenAid because that turquoise agitator was mesmerizing to watch under the water. Not to mention how beautiful it sounded and the smell. It was a magical time. I hope I can get the KA I just found restored to this condition and relive a piece of that time, even for just a few years.
I do the same thing when I get new jeans. I like knowing that I get some of the dye out without it going on my car seat or the sofa or anything else.
Hello. Question about my elite washer, it has no model # for parts can you help.
If the control panel looks like this one, yes I can.
@@MatthewJames-st5wv yes it does but not as clean lol. Thank you for thelp because I cand order parts without model #.
Wow I messed last reply up. I net you understand 😑
When is your next live stream?
@@MatthewJames-st5wv great , im shure becaus my understanding is some wirpool parts will work. I love how clean my clothes get but i feel time is running out for a 20 year +washer. Im just giving this my last shot . thank you.
Go Kenmore go! Give those jeans a good washing 😊
I see you did a little change up with the agitator and the drain pump in this video. I still believe this washer does a great job for 28 years old.
I recorded this before I put back the old style drain pump which is now permanently staying in the machine.
I suspected as much. Still, that machine did its job. Those jeans look really nice, by the way.
@@tristangardner3889 They are. I just don't like them super stiff. After that wash, they're perfect
Fair enough. A good wash always does the trick.
Beating? What are you talking about? I like jeans.
Very good!!❤❤❤
Good to see the neutral drain works for you man. My washer rarely does that so the fabric softener is usually going to waste :/
Why don't you purchase a neutral drain kit? Its a messy job, but not that difficult if you're mechanically inclined.
I love that drain pump sound! Could I see a small to medium load of sweaters on the hang dry speed with a 12 min ultra clean cycle with the 2nd rinse option?
I actually love the sound of the older drain pump compared to the newer one's on these machines. They sound much smoother and less noisy in my opinion.
Same here. I’m not sure why whirlpool changed it but I do know that the impeller has more fins than the newer style pumps
@MatthewJames-st5wv as time went on, stuff got cheaper and more junky. Like I mentioned before the moment my Samsung's die I will go back to these almost indestructible Kenmore's that lasted over 20 year's with proper care.
@@TRec3791 Well I know they definitely did that with the clutch. This machine came with a six pack clutch and later machines only had a three pack clutch to cut costs. FWIW, I haven’t had any issues with the newer style pumps
Shucks I miss my direct drive. One of the biggest mistakes I made in the past year was letting it go.
You can get one?
@@MatthewJames-st5wv Since I'm disabled (blind), I don't have the ability to restore them from the ground up like you do. So that's a roadblock.
@@rynerobinson903 Oh. I’m sorry man. Perhaps there are some near you that are in excellent condition that wouldn’t require restoration
That reinforcement really did the trick, looks great and awesome wash action as always.
Hey man. Yeah about 95%. There is still some vibration, but more so with the dryer. I am not sure its leveled properly. But TBH I would rather just leave it all alone at this point instead of making it worse.
@@MatthewJames-st5wv Thats great, I plan on trying this in my project room soon.
@@BillyLee25 that’s great man! I hope it helps. I think it has a lot to do with how sturdy your sub flooring is. I still get a little vibration
@@MatthewJames-st5wv 👍
I just picked up a early 90's Kitchenaid Top Loader with this agitator in pristine condition - I'm in LOVE😍
Perfect wash -- well done.
Thanks Pete :)
So I’m gonna take a phat second to scream into the void about this because the Island Fresh Softener was my absolute fav and now I think I have to make a morally dubious deal in an alley with a Gain employee to get this stuff. If anyone had any dupes, sharing is caring 🥺
Yeah it's been gone for over 2 years now. Gain did the same thing with their Apple Mango Tango scent. If you email Gain (P&G) they will tell you to request your store order it, but truth be told, its no longer made in the fireworks or fabric softener. Now we get "Spring Daydream" and "Relax Dewdrop Dream".
@@MatthewJames-st5wv all these “dreams” kinda sounding like nightmares to me. But I’m just a salty consumer. Pettiness is how I’m coping.
I'm glad the old pump is back. It sounds much better than the new drain pump in my opinion.
It really does.
It works with lid open
Not by default lol.
The draining and spinning action reminds me of NORGE WASHERS AND THE MONTGOMERY WARDS WASHERS MADE BY NORGE.
Haha. Yes
The old drain pump has kind of a hum in the note of 'A'.
Yes it does
Is the agitator the TA or the DAP?
The agitator in this machine is the original, the dual action agitator plus.
@@MatthewJames-st5wv When did the Triple come out? Like 97?
@@vanni9283 Maybe around 96 when they changed the control panel? I'm not really sure. I think it may have been used in some very high end 1995 models. I could be wrong.
nice and awsome thats one of my favorite kenmore agitators
You changed the drain pump! Oh man that sounds so much cooler. Edit: Oh NOW I see it in the description, haha.
Haha. Yes sir. The older pumps sound so much cooler with that lower pitch
Notice with the older style pump how it drains much faster? I'm not sure if thats the pump or the fact that I removed that annoying lint disc filter.
@@MatthewJames-st5wv It's definitely the pump for sure. Not sure why though. Maybe the vanes on the impeller are a little larger.
@@Sharkie626 I think that's why. Only reason I took it out is sometimes during large loads on high agitation I hear a rattling noise. Do you have any idea what that might be? Sounds like a metallic noise to be honest.
@@MatthewJames-st5wv Was anything caught in it? I'm not sure, but I can remember the newer one on the machine we used to have make said sound lightly for a few seconds on a hot wash before it make it's "gurgle" sound, and went away.
I love it!
Great to see and hear it was sorted for you !!
Looking good Matt! Appears to have done the trick!
Maybe about 95%. I still get some vibration, but its minimal and most importantly, I don't hear the washer creaking and vibrating the whole house anymore.
@@MatthewJames-st5wv Yay!
But you changed the agitator.
I did ask if that was an issue , looked too top wobbly for me ?
That has got to be a relief Matt. Good on ya !
So much, Pat. My anxiety was driving me nuts before because I wasn’t helping the washers by shoving the block next to them.
Cool :)❤
Hey. Where the heck have you been? By the way, I did purchase some Speed Queen Gear Oil and it has a sweet smell and it's quite thick.
Hey Jerome. I have been posting plenty of videos. I'm glad you got some nice smelling gear oil for your machine. :)
@@MatthewJames-st5wv I think Speed Queen Gear Oil has some benzene in it. It's thick. I believe from what I was told it was 80w90 gear oil.
Are these essentially the same as the whirlpool ultimate care II washers?
Pretty much
How does it spin if you take the agitator out ? it looks like that is wobbling a lot ?
Yes. That is what happens when the subfloor can't support the weight of the machine.
Great video, love the turquoise agi, used a similar Kenmore on a holiday visit and thought it a great washing machine.
May I ask where do you live at in the world?
In the Midwest
