    Thanks for this quick, easy video. We followed all the steps and replaced everything. Checked for leaks. However, we’re no longer getting the proper pressure/flow. We’ve waited 12 hours now. Did you experience this? Have any suggestions for troubleshooting?

    Did you shut off your storage tank before removing anything? All I can think of is somehow you lost the precharge on the tank, as one person commented you can repressurize the tank but I've never had to do it yet in almost 7 years same pressure. You can call apec too they have decent technical support.

    @@shivpalvansadia9152 You may have let the pressure out by accident. In any event better to get the pressure set correctly either way. Run the tank empty if it's not already and there is a schrader valve (bicycle tire style) on the front of the tank with a blue cap. Remove the cap and pump the tank up to around 5psi. Refill the system and you should be good to go.

    I'm not sure on the water quality, you could reach out to Apec and ask them about that, but on the pressure side you would need a water pump to do that, the inlet pressure must be comparable to city water pressure to have a decent output.

    I used a logic level relay board (sainsmart) but ended up adding a motor contactor for the size of the load (16A) full load amps. If I did it again I'd just use the new arduino based finder plc they sell and do it all in one package and just add circuit protection.

    you should drill a whole in the PVC pipe inside the housing so the pump doesn't get vapor locked. Why the hell would you have a check valve after the trap that makes no sense on a sealed system

  • @briancnc
    @briancncАй бұрын

    The check valve is to prevent backflow. Albeit given the size of the holding tank and my vertical stack is pretty short I reckon if you had enough lift to get over the back flow could cause the pump to short cycle in the right conditions.

    You didn't sterilize the system with bleach nor repressurize the storage tank. You should sterilize it every time you change the RO membrance. You should repressurize it to 5-7psi on an empty tank every year.

  • @briancnc
    @briancnc2 ай бұрын

    Per the OEM manual you're not supposed to sterilize the system, but rather the 2 plastic ports in the Tee fitting and the port of the filter (only the 5th stage carbon filter. I do these off camera. Anyone doing this should also read their manual appropriately to ensure they aren't contaminating their potable water nor damaging the system by running a sanitizing solution through it. Good tip on the tank, I have yet to see a discernable difference in output water pressure, but will check it out this weekend.

    this was a good video. i have been wanting to buy a unit for a while. it looks similar to when i connected an ice maker. but i have a concerning question, not sure you can answer. why do you need it to connect to the drain? i am guessing over flow. i am asking because one year, my plumbing backed up and it came back up the shower and sink drains. if my plumbing backs up in a house, i am assuming it might go back up the filter drainage as well? and i would have to clean out and flush the whole system? thank you. if it it minor over flow, maybe i could run the drainage down to the floor to the crawl space. what are your thoughts. thanks again.

  • @briancnc
    @briancnc5 ай бұрын

    Thank you for the comments. You need to connect to the drain as the filter discharges water, it's part of the byproduct of the filtration. I believe it's something around 2/3 discharge to 1/3 filtered water. Most of these systems have in-line check valves which make return flow impossible, and if you wanted to make it very redundant you could buy another and stick it in line with the discharge (black hose) to the drain pipe saddle.

  • @briancnc

    I asked the company and they said no. I will probably work just fine but there may be drawbacks, like the valve slamming closed on the motor, not sure what that causes long term but they don't advise it. I've certainly seen them done that way though just didn't want to risk having problems. Try to locate an existing vent stack you could tie into, you should be able to find one somewhere at least in your first floor and get to it from your basement stack like I did.

    10:05, will reducing the flow with the check valve hamper the volume of water you can discharge at one time? In other words, take a sump pump for instance, it discharges all the water at once with no restriction in water flow

  • @briancnc
    @briancnc5 ай бұрын

    This shouldn't, it will only max out at the discharge capacity of the pump minus any losses, should be minimal with a full swing check. However check out my newer video where I replaced this with a much better pump, this original video the pump become very problematic.

    @briancnc they don't atomize the paint correctly. They are slow, they blow hot air, they spray dots of paint that eventually fill in

  • @briancnc
    @briancnc5 ай бұрын

    @@shidoin5398 All of the above can be corrected in a few steps. You shouldn't be getting hot air, if you are you need a longer hose to let the air cool down. I run mine with a 25' and whip hose and air is cool as ambient temp at the tip. Poor atomization is a result of trying to spray too viscous fluid, not enough air, or both. Try thinning your paints. You could also avoid thinning much or at all if you run airless or air assist but neither get as flat of a finish as a compressed air HVLP or turbine gun IMO. Again that's all atomization. It takes time to find the balance between thinning enough to get the finish you want. Keep in mind you're not painting houses with a gun like this, it's made for quality not quantity. For that you need an airless like the graco ultra series.
