Thanks Kathleen. On my tractor I've never reset/had to reset my display, you certainly make me want to check in spring time though! I usually do the maintenance kit once a year and I've never had any problems with this tractor outside of stale fuel or a gummed carburetor.

A Fram or SuperTech 3614 will fit, and costs half what the JD filter costs. At 50 hours, the fuel filter and spark plugs should not need changing at all. Stock fuel filter should last three years and a Fram G1 costs $3 and will last 5 years.

Replaced my fuel filter at 50 hours because there were very small stones in it. Only cost me $5.

I check spark plugs and just use a wire brush on them if they need cleaning.

Hello Brian.....just put new deck/blade spindles on and a new belt. After almost finishing my acre and a half the new belt snapped. The only thing I can think of that might have caused this is I might not have gotten the pulley's back on in the right position/spot. Could this cause a problem? Thank You!

what a waste of spark plugs, I have had plugs in previous J.D mowers easily go 500 hours and look fine, and gap is within spec's. think about it, you change your car spark plugs at 100,000 miles, but even if you change at 50,000, that is a couple thousand hours of operation, why would you waste time, money, and materials, changing at 50 hours?

Because it takes 2 minutes and costs almost nothing. I understand your point though on the hours, each to their own.

I do like righty tighty Lefty Loosey. It’s what my dad always said and I’ve passed to my kids. Doesn’t dumb it down just makes it easier to remember and brings the person who taught you to memory.
