Yeah it's been growing very well despite me not giving it the attention it deserves. This next spring I hope to make a custom pot for it.

@@givetanks There are millions of these little beech trees that pop up here in the middle of pine plantations which all get run over when they harvest them. Sometimes I get tempted to "Yamadori them but it seems like a kind of delicate process. But it's probably better than being crushed and killed by a log harvester. Perhaps when I have more space I will look into it

I disagree with the GFI outlet. Yes it will help from killing you but if it trips and your not home for hours upon hours your fish will die.

Yeah it's something most don't think about when starting out and don't take the right steps - also has to be done at the right time ,species, and stage of the tree. If done right they don't skip a beat and turn into something great down the road.
