Crab Apple Trunk Chops To Thicken Your Bonsai - 5 Years later

This is a crab apple I bought from from a home store that was pencil thick. The last 5 years I have trunk chopped it and then just let it grow. I plan on doing it for a few more until I get the size and taper I'm looking for.

I simply do Bonsai in parallel with my busy life as a way to relax and connect to nature. I approach bonsai with a very simple approach, simple tools, and just start working.

Thanks - I have great plans for this guy but it's just a waiting game now. I'll see what other trouble I can get into.

Yeah - I'm trying to make a crazy old, craggy, spooky, scared tree. Hopefully I'm not too harsh :)

I had to look him up as I didn't know who that was. I try and enjoy what I'm filming and and some humor into it.

Perhaps a touch heavy on the sound effects and elevator music? Plus if you were already going hard on audio editing why include the fart…

Are you not concerned about the snap at the base of the grafted leader?

  • @givetanks

It's only half snapped, so it should still grow, if not there is a bud at the top. We'll see and I'll do a spring update
