American Beech Forest Bonsai Gets Defoliated And Ready For Fall
These four American Beech were collected as tiny little saplings some 5 years ago. I planted them at an angle on a slate slab. Covered them up in window screen and moss and hoped for the best. I've been slowly working the tree's as each flush pushes in the spring and keeping things healthy. This spring 2024 will be time to planted in on a lava and lace rock slab.

I simply do Bonsai in parallel with my busy life as a way to relax and connect to nature. I approach bonsai with a very simple approach, simple tools, and just start working.

I have an ancient Japanese maple that every year hundreds of little saplings pop up, I actually have one that's a few year old that I kept mowing over that I'm gonna dig up in spring. Might use these guys as something.

@@givetanks Japanese maples are stunning in early spring and late autumn when they start to get their fire colours! Looking forward to seeing a few more of your trees over time :D
