First Time Watching X-Men (2000) Reactions
#deadpool3 #deadpool3reactioncompilation #deadpool3trailer #xmen #marvel #reactionvideo #wolverine
I am officially a Wolverine fan now! Loved how this film delved more into the overall world building story rather than just focusing on just one character. I thought this was a great intro to the story of X-Men. I was starting to put it all together as the film went on and now I'm curious to know more, especially Wolverine's past??!! I like the segues and transitions.
So question for you guys....who's actually the most powerful X-man or mutant and why? I mean Rogue seems more powerful than anyone at this moment.
Hope you enjoy!

@@Nicolas.Vincent well, a Google search says (after numerous delays 🙄) that MCU's Blade has November 2025 release date with Mahershala Ali still casted to play Blade If Marvel plans to make a Blade trilogy + cameos for the next 10-20, they would have to move quickly! Ali isn't quite a spring chicken, he's already 50 y.o. with acrobatics/hand-to-hand combat being a large part of Blade's character. I don't know how they're gonna do it, but just hope that it turns out well in the end 🤞

At the time, X-Men was the no.1 superhero team/comic book series. But the success would 'evolve' even further with becoming Marvel's 2nd franchise on film. The original longest running, shared universe with it's first major, superhero team. Although they were around for over 30 years at this point, their meteoric rise through multimedia made them unstoppable (animated series, toys video games, etc). From their further rising, came this 'ultimate' first installment. Hyper-realistic with social commentary and a few other things in between without being a overly 'comic-book' movie. The late Richard Donner and his wife, Lauren-Shuler Donner were executive producers (The Donners' Company) of the film series. Great cast, good writing, bold direction and treatment of the characters. Patrick Stewart as Professor X and Hugh Jackman (his film debut) as Wolverine would become seminal to this saga. Over 20 years on film and most of it succeeded more than failed. If you wish to journey onward, prepare for a real evolution.

This the beginning of a top notch super hero trilogy. It came closest to the "92" animated series.

This movie was my introduction to The X-Men. I vaguely knew who they were before this, because they were so insanely popular that it was hard to avoid running into pop culture references, but I didn't know any real details or storylines. I had not read any of their comics or seen the animated series. All of my comics knowledge at the time laid in DC (Marvel's rival company, who make Superman, Batman, etc.), so when Blade and this movie came out, I figured it was time to start paying attention to Marvel. I was hooked! Because of this movie, Wolverine became one of my favorite characters, and the comics I read afterwards only reinforced that. It's a shame it took Marvel so long to get the film rights to The X-Men back. It would have been really cool to see them onscreen with MCU characters like Iron Man and Captain America. Thankfully, that looks to be changing soon! Marvel has the X-Men back, and are already hinting at their entry into the MCU. What a great time to be a comic book fan!

This was one of the earliest Marvel movies. Only "Blade" came before it. So it's a little clunky compared to more recent movies. But things get better as we go, getting excellent by the middle. Cyclops gets downplayed a lot in this series. In a way, he's too powerful, in that he can blast anyone he sees, which would make fights too easy for the heroes if they didn't gimp him. Likewise, they made Jean very weak in this movie. But they knew who the most popular X-Men characters were, and were banking on Wolverine to be the most popular, which he has been.

Hey, Reema! The X-Men are Marvel Comics superheroes created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1963. The film rights were sold to 20th-Century Fox studios in the 1990s. Therefore, no other Marvel characters could appear in them when the MCU came into existence later and nothing mutant-related could exist in the MCU. The X-Men movies proved team superhero movies were viable and are the reason we have an MCU and DCEU. One major problem with the franchise is that there was no plan going in to make a coherent saga so there are MANY CONTINUITY ERRORS! Another problem is that there is little FIDELITY to the comics other than surface level stuff and the franchise became a showcase for HUGH JACKMAN's Wolverine as the central focus; the comics are much more ensemble pieces. Wolverine is hugely popular among comic readers but the movies became largely his vehicle. When the franchise was rebooted with a younger cast to clear up continuity and fidelity issues, the only explanation for discrepancies between the two sets of films was that they were taking place in MULTIPLE TIMELINES. Despite the confusion, X-Men films are all very ENTERTAINING including the so-called duds and boast terrific action as well as INCREDIBLE CASTS. The duality between frenemies Charles and Erik is the core of these films. They are allegorical representatives of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X. The action sequences are predicated on coordinating and nullifying powers which laid the foundation for the best superhero fight ever in cinema as it utilizes the same principles: the airport battle in "Captain America: Civil War"! Now that Disney owns the film rights, fans are excited to see Kevin Feige adapt them properly. As always, since these are films based on Marvel Comics, STAN LEE has a cameo in most of them. In "X-Men", he was a hot dog vendor on the beach when Senator Kelly emerges from the surf. The student who phased through the door when Wolverine first meets Xavier is Katherine "Kitty" Pryde and Rogue's role as Logan's mentee in the film was actually Kitty's role in the comics. Rogue is a flight-capable heavy hitting adult in the comics who acquired those abilities when she permanently absorbed Carol "Captain Marvel" Danvers' powers by maintaining contact too long! That incident stripped Carol of her memories and put her in a coma! X-MEN TIMELINES: Egypt --> 1845 --> Nagasaki --> First Class --> DOFP --> Origins ------------------------------------------------> X1 --> X2 --> X3 --> Wolverine ----------> New Mutants ----------------------> Logan Egypt --> 1845 --> Nagasaki --> First Class --> DOFP ----------------> Apocalypse --> Dark Phoenix ------------------------------------------------> Deadpool --> Deadpool 2 -----> DOFP Utopia Egypt --> 1845 --> Nagasaki --> First Class --> DOFP --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------> DOFP Dystopia DO NOT WATCH THE FILMS IN RELEASE ORDER!!!!! FOLLOW THIS RECOMMENDED ORDER!!!!! It keeps the multiple timelines orderly. RECOMMENDED VIEWING ORDER: X-Men X2: X-Men United X3: The Last Stand X-Men Origins: Wolverine X-Men: First Class The Wolverine: Extended Cut X-Men: Days of Future Past: The Rogue Cut X-Men: Apocalypse X-Men: Dark Phoenix Deadpool New Mutants Logan Deadpool 2

35:25-No, sweetie--It's the look of the X-men's uniforms from the 1st issue to about the 58th..yellow and black. To me, the toughest thing about the mutant battle is both Xavier and Erik are right. I liked this first real Marvel film, I recall the cartoon series on Fox at the time of release, no doubt it helped it's success. It also got the execs at Disney interested in partnering up with Stan for the upcoming Spider-Man film.

Reembok, there is also a movie from 1995, , Generation X , it is on youtube now, it was the first live action Xmen movie, but it takes place in the 90s, set after the last Xmen movie so far, the New Mutants, which is set in the 1980s , and came out in 2020, so if you get to that movie, you can then watch, Generation X .

Your quote at 45:12 is interesting. It also exists in many other forms... "It is better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener in a war." In THOR, "A wise king never seeks out war, but must always be ready for it." An old survivalist saying, "It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it." To paraphrase another saying, "Those without weapons can still die by them." The culture of the Shaolin monks who preached peace, but still knew how to defend themselves. Lastly our founding fathers in the USA, who wanted to live in peace, but enshrined our God given right to defend against tyrants in the second amendment. An underappreciated and under-taught philosophy for the tyrant will always seek to disarm before control.
