    The X-Men were introduced in X-Men #1 (1963), written by Stan Lee and art by Jack Kirby. The team consisted of Scott Summers as Cyclops, Jean Grey as Marvel Girl, Bobby Drake as Iceman, Hank McCoy as Beast, and Warren Worthington III as Angel. And, of course, Professor Charles Xavier as well. Magneto would also make his appearance in this comic as well. X-Men #4 (1964) introduced Mangeto's Brotherhood of Mutants and Toad (Mortimer Toynbee), who appears in this film. Some other fun stuff happened, like X-Men #9 (1964), where The X-Men met The Avengers, a superhero team formed in Avengers #1 (1963) made up of pre-existing Marvel characters. You've undoubtedly heard about The Avengers thanks to the massive success of their movies, starting with Iron Man (2008) and giving birth to the MCU, Marvel Cinematic Universe, and interconnected series of films and later shows. X-Men #35 (1967) saw the X-Men meeting Spider-Man, introduced in Amazing Fantasy #15 (1961). Of course, Spider-Man, Marvel's most iconic character, and the X-Men were the face of Marvel from the 1970s to the 1990s. This changed during the rise of the MCU, where The Avengers became the Face of Marvel, Iron Man and Captain America. But moving back to the 1970s, The X-Men would take around a 5-year break once Stan Lee dropped them to focus on The Avengers and Fantastic Four comics. Wolverine made his first appearance in The Incredible Hulk #180 (1974), appearing in the final panel as a cameo. His entire appearance would be in The Incredible Hulk #181 (1974), appearing throughout the comic. A year later, we would get Giant-Size X-Men (1975) written by Len Wein. This comic would introduce us to Professor X, creating a new team to rescue the original X-Men members. The new squad comprised Storm (Ororo Munroe), this being her first comic appearance, and Wolverine, who is now a member of The X-Men, among other characters you've yet to meet in the films. Chris Claremont would write the next issue and would go on to become one of the most iconic X-Men writers to date across future stories into the 1980s. Another character's first appearance would be Rogue, who appeared in Avengers Annual #10 (1981), a storyline heavily connected to The Avengers and Mystique. Speaking on Mystique, she appeared a few years before in Ms. Marvel #16 (1978) a story written by Chris Claremont. And I think that's everyone you've met in this film. Also, why are the X-Men films not a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? It's because of movie rights. During the 1990s, Marvel faced bankruptcy and went bankrupt in 1996, so a lot was happening. So, to make money, Marvel decided to sell off character/team rights to different companies, with 20th Century Fox getting the rights to The X-Men and Fantastic Four. In contrast, Sony got the rights to Spider-Man, and other companies got the rights to characters. When it came time for Marvel to start working on their films, they simply couldn't use certain characters and teams because they no longer had the movie rights. They created Iron Man (2008) and planned on future films to build up to an Avenger movie. But they could not make an X-Men, Spider-Man, or Fantastic Four film. They couldn't even mention the term Mutant or feature X-Men/Mutant characters, even if Fox was not using them in a movie. The MCU was a shared, connected universe that captured what made the comics so special, but it was without the X-Men. That's why we have X-Men and MCU films released around the same time but never cross over or make small references. Marvel did try to connect them, like having an X-Men cameo in an MCU film, but these never happened. As of 2019, Disney bought Fox, so the movie rights of The X-Men have returned to Marvel, allowing them to do whatever they want with The X-Men now. Deadpool & Wolvrine (Deadpool 3) will be the first MCU X-Men film released just next month. So yes, X-Men are very much Marvel, but for movies, Fox's X-Men movies are very much disconnected from the MCU :(

Hope you keep watching, First Class and DOFP are the best x movies ❤ Edit: the x men were created to represent society. So the mutants are like minorities or anyone that society see as " different"

    I don't think people can be at fault for liking Jean with Logan. They don't really show her relationship with Scott, like at all. Lol We mostly see Logan flirting with her that I often forget she's even with Scott lol The creators really spent a lot of time on Logan in general, but I don't fault them for that considering he's a lot of people's favorite characters. Cyclops and a bunch of other mutans were done dirty with the lack of focus on them and their abilities in these films. I really enjoyed your reaction! I especially love your Dune reactions. I love that you don't take yourself too seriously, but also respect the content you're reaching to.

    The difference between magneto and professor Xavier is the same difference between Martin Luther King and Malcolm x. Malcolm X wanted to pay an eye for an eye and believes in mutant superiority and Charles Xavier wanted to peacefully live and coexist with the humans. Charles Xavier 'had a dream" so to speak.

    Can't wait for the whole series! Especially Wolverine Genesis (my fav). You might want to check the timeline for those movies if you want, it's kind of like with Avengers where theoretically you 'should' watch it in specific order to go chronologically with the story not the order of movies coming out but i think as you watch all of it in short time you remember most of it so you can piece it all together without the "timeline"

    If I remember correctly Storm, Jean and Cyclops are in the highest rank of mutant power so... A pretty powerful team Charles has👀

  • @Autobot9400

    @Autobot9400

    6 күн бұрын

    Close, Storm and Jean are Omega level (highest, although Jean has yet to explore her full potential) and Cyclops is Alpha level. While many mutants seem extremely powerful, there are only 25 named Omega level mutants in the comics, Iceman and Magneto among them. Most of the X-Men and Brotherhood members are Alpha at best, including Xavier. While Xavier is a highly skilled and very powerful telepath, he has set limits on his powers which is why he maxes out at Alpha level. Omega level mutants don't have discernable limits. This is why even though Jean, for example, is often portrayed as weaker, she doesn't really have limits if she really pushes herself to keep getting better. This difference is why Alphas can often appear stronger than Omegas. With Omegas its about their seemingly limitless potential as opposed to being the best.
