WORLD HERITAGE SITE Forth Rail Bridge, North Queensferry + Painting Seashells In Watercolour - Ep28

Hello & welcome along on this walk! If you're new here - my name is Sarah and each week I head out on a walk with my faithful companion Jack Spaniels, to explore somewhere in this beautiful country of Scotland and hopefully find something to paint back in my studio at home.
Today we are visiting a UNESCO World Heritage Site - one of only six in Scotland. Other examples worldwide are the Taj Mahal in India and the Great Wall of China.
After discovering the industrial past of this coastal village, we walk through a local nature reserve to find one of Jack's favourite things - the beach! Here I finds some beautiful and fragile tiny scallop shells to photograph & paint.
I've never painted seashells before, so I was little nervous about trying this. Watch to the end to see how they turned out!
If you enjoyed this video and you haven't already, please check out my other videos - including the three special Skye episodes, where we explore some incredible Scottish scenery. Join me again next week as we explore somewhere else in Scotland and look for painting inspiration...

Definitely yes on the shading. It was unfinished without it. It also just made the shells pop out of the page even more. Great walk!

Sarah, the sea shells are beautiful. This type of scallop shells are some of my favorites. I always manage to bring back a bag full of shells from our trips to Mexican beaches. Once again you have captured every little detail of the lovely colorful shells. I think Jack Spaniels sticks are getting longer each time. Thank you for another lovely walk. Take care. 🌻🐕🇺🇸

Hi again, PS, your painting of the shells was mesmerizing and the accuracy of the colouring a pleasure to see. Loved the shading it added to the 3D quality of the shells. Made me want to go down to the sea shore now. Thanks

Another great place to see and to learn the history of the bridges and other areas. Jack is sure happy carrying his big stick. What nice pathways to be walking on in the park. Pretty scallop shells. The painting turned out really well. The details were great. Fantastic artwork Sarah.
