Wonderful walk even without the tower. The Apple looked so good I had to grab one from the kitchen. Great drone footage Willie. Happy Birthday Jack, I am glad you had sausage for a breakfast treat. My food centric dog started barking at his food bowl and I looked at the clock (10:15) and told him he had a couple hours till lunch but he didn't quit so I walked in the kitchen and caught a glimpse of the clock there and it was 12:40, Whoops, he was right and I wasn't, so he got lunch. What a beautiful autumnal walk! As always, I appreciated the view and the history lesson. Hard to believe it's almost been a year already. I remember Willie saying in an episode of Dirty Secrets of Scotland that you had a channel coming and I knew I would enjoy it - and I certainly have!

When I was in elementary school, National Geographic did an article on the Witch craze of Europe. Especially in Germany, England and Salem Mass. My family was mentioned as we had "a witch" that was brought before a bishop in Nuremberg and then drowned. Strange how that happens in history. The apple looks like I could pick it off the page and bite it! What a great job.

Autumnal is a great word, & also my favorite season, despite the joy of watching new things growing in the spring.---I know I've said this many times, but Scotland is such a magical place. I've been to so many wonderful places, here & abroad, but Scotland doesn't seem like a real place. In our day & age of hollywood magic, Scotland always looks like a movie set. My brain occasionally has difficulty recognizing reality. Sigh. I've seen those round towers on our friends' driving tour of Scotland & Ireland. The difference being the openings were up high, so threatened peoples could climb up the ladder & pull it up inside afterwards.---An old lady friend of mine planted a Gravenstein apple tree & it would bear fruit ready for harvesting as early as May. Delicious apples! I wondered what variety you encountered on your walk.---Fascinating history of the Pictish hill.

I watch your Skye Life channel and only just discovered this channel. Much to my amazement to find you in the village where I live, very cool.

Maybe next year for the tower view…but, you did have an amazing view from the site of the old fort. The apple tree you saw was positively laden, and you probably had lots of shots from which to choose. The moss-covered branch and red apple are a great composition and a wonderfully realistic painting was achieved. Please don’t doubt your abilities…you are a very fine painter!👏🤩🌸

Amazing to realise you were near to our 18th century restaurant called The Baiglie INN (It’s now a private home )at the roundabout coming from Glenfarg to Perth that you turn off to Abernathy …It was lovely seeing the views again and The Crees Inn is a great pub …..We live in Queensland Australia but my heart is in Scotland…..Great watching you …

Just an idea with your excess paint swatches, when full use them to do reverse colouring pages where you use your imagination to make pictures out of the blobs. It's a really good way to give your creativity a push. Thoroughly enjoy your walks & nature/history talks & your artistic endeavours too.

Thanks so much for the description of your artistic process. I'll be taking a class in watercolor this summer and have been a bit anxious since, although I'm good at drawing to scale, I have no confidence in adding color to my pen and ink drawings. Your videos have been giving me some confidence in how to add color to my drawings.

Happy Birthday Jack! I just knew there would be water involved somewhere in your walk when you said it was Jack's birthday, and that wee 'spa' he found looked ideal lol. Your painting was gorgeous, and that photo you took of the box of apples with all the red and green looked so autumnal (which *is* a great word!). I love walking with my dog Buster in Autumn, it's my favourite season too. The story of the 'witches' walking up that hill to their death, I found it very poignant, I bet you can feel the history there. I laughed at Willie in your outtakes 'I'm in the shot' 😂 .... and I think you had every right to be peed off when you looked online and it said the museum was open - when it wasn't! I wouldn't let it go either 😂 And your old job sounds so interesting, can you show us any of the places you worked and tell us about what you did? It would be fascinating. Fantastic apple! The shadows do make a world of difference. The leaf curl, I just wanted to reach and touch the edge of the leaves. It was a nice walk even if you didn't get to climb the tower. The drone shots are beautiful. I love seeing fields from above. Thanks for sharing. Now, did those women really all sign their names to some list for this guy to find and accuse them or being witches? 🤔 lesson learned, don't write your name on incriminating documents.

(And I'll bet the apples were left out by friendly witches - isn't there a theory they were just enterprising women who threatened men and their businesses, like the women who brewed beer back in the day?) He’s a Sprocker spaniel! A mix of Cocker and Springer - so we say he gets the best from both breeds (but also double the crazy..!)

Sarah, So Jack Spaniel is about 45 or so in Human years according to research, but that is misleading because Dogs have been bred for health and longevity, we are not, and most animals generally eat more intelligently than we do. So their genetics, exercise and diets allow a healthier, albeit shorter like than ours. Here's hoping Jack becomes a healthy Octogenarian or more,in dog years Cheers, Rik
