Happens on the classics too but you can usually see the heat marks. Always check the seals. Very reliable boilers when looked after I’ve loads over 15 years old. Can be annoying doing some worcster jobs but overall they last and customer service is the best around by miles.

Yeah they are good last easily 15 years plus

When I go to one of them….doesn’t matter what it’s doing, I always check that red seal with the analyser, if it’s gone I tell the client that’s the first thing I’ve got to change as the boiler is now “ at risk”. By changing the pump and then leaving…you’ve left that boiler at risk ( unknowingly). I’m not having a pop by the way…. I’ve done exactly what you’ve done in the past

It’s all a learning curve in this game unfortunately, got there in the end luckily, but once I know something I never forget so will be checking that first on an overheat situation (and on services I do anyway) I didn’t know it could cause overheat

@@snapgas9832 I’ve never had that either… I went to a new install, boilers first service. The fitter had run the pipes on heat only version in such a way where the casing wasn’t on properly, so when that red seal goes, products of combustion would of been in the room. I appreciate guys like you putting videos up, another medium where we can all learn from each other

I've renewed quite a few of those red seals, i even now carry a spare on my van permanently as i now know I'm going to need to renew one any time soon, i got frustrated with that manufacturer and have moved away from them as an installer

Hi mate, I do multiple a day, always just keep 1 in my service bag as I know for sure no one’s changed them previously I like the greenstars they just do the job, every boiler has its weakness but these in my opinion are decent

Yeah tbf I've had the o/h stat activate due to heat escaping off the top of the main hex...gas sniffer, mirror or fga will verify if seal leaking... Nice one bro

I get loads of kebab worcesters with leaking burner seals. Quite easy to replace. Make sure you check / replace the white plastic spacer at the back, as these start dissolving from the gasses & then the burner lid won't shut squarely. I hate the dodgy manifolds, PRV & expansion vessel positions but overall they are great reliable boilers.

Those burner gaskets are crap, not fit for purpose. I've been to boilers that are no older than two years and those gaskets are leaking. It's got to the point it's now my first check.... nothing worse than changing one of those on a hot heat cell
@paulgannon3261 Жыл бұрын
They do require that gasket to be replaced on every service. Don't know why people dislike them as for me by far the most reliable boilers out there. I think most people who dislike them are because they are not fault finders. For me Vaillant are the most unreliable but easy to work on. The baxis have two overheats and both fail due to gaskets or sight glass cracking.

It's mandatory check which I was told to carry out every time you take the case off the boiler. Hey hoo..it is what it is

Wouldn’t s flue gas analyser have helped , if nothing was obvious, the combination gases must have escaped, so run a chimney sweep mode then wave a wond around the top , the seal is supposed be changed regular so asking when the last service was , if more than 15 months change it on service
