A good sign of the transformer blown is the smell it gives off. I strip old boilers and have a large stock of parts which saves the customer a new boiler or expensive parts.

This happened to me . Worcester said needed new board and transformer. Got reconditioned one for £6 . Saved my customer a fortune

Happens a lot on the Ri could have saved your fuses I always look at that first on them strongly it never normally damages the pcb I just change the transformer
