Which Burpee BURNS The Most Calories?

Ойын-сауық

I conducted a small experiment to figure out which burpee burns the most calories. The experiment centred around a 10 minute EMOM burpee workout

Remember, your body is incredibly adaptable. To maximize calorie burn, avoid doing the same thing repeatedly. Mix it up! That's the essence of effective training. 💪🔥

Hmm, I would consider jogging in place and doing the burpee style you like most. Jogging in place, step count can be adjusted to your level. If you're a beginner, you can do many, if you're advanced, you can do as few as 10 or even none. My motto is: It must be fun. I wouldn't do stuff that just is the best in scientific terms if it's a chore.

In my opinion per minute whatever makes you breathe the hardest is probably what burns the most Your breathing rate is dictated by your carbon level in the blood which is a result of energy (ATP) usage Now there is something to be said about being able to do an easier variation of many reps in a row which could mean that you could burn more in total because you can do it longer but per minute your breathing rate is a pretty good indicator

One thing I started to do was split my workouts into EMOM various times throughout the day, I noticed I’d get more volume done for example if I did a 20min EMOM I could only do 5 reps per minute resulting in 100 reps overall but if I did 2 10min EMOM I could do 7 reps per minute resulting in 140 overall. Experiment with this and play with the numbers I was able to get high volume numbers of burpees doing it this way. Higher numbers rather than chasing fatigue and also I was productive throughout the day because my body wasn’t recovering from brutal burpee workouts

actually the burpee that burns the most calories and gets your cardio going way more is the "conventional" burpee where you perform a on pump and explosively kick your feet underneath right after performing the pushup and jump into the air. These no jump burpees just allow you to go on for longer since they are less fatiguing.

I add a jump between reps of whatever variation I’m doing. Gives that extra cardio boost and doesn’t really add a lot of time. Usually at the end of the sets my feet are only going a half inch off the ground though haha. I do body builders with a jump as my main go to and it’s pretty efficient. The jumps works the calves a bit extra for me as well. Peace oot

I suppose remaining in the calorie deficit, while keeping unbroken on the One pumps and bodybuilders. Higher reps 5 pumps, straight to squats then jumping jacks unbroken is what i done this morning. Just a pool of sweat on the floor that body fat must be going somewhere. Im finding the unbroken is key as much as possible breaking through that mental darkness. Great instructive video thanks.

You're doing them all wrong, no jump up or into the burpee!!! lol I am joking of course, I bring it up cos some guy was laughing at me for no jumping. I explained I was doing 6 counts, its a burpee variation, there are many. However he was a martial artist, a gymnast and a trampolinist and knew better so I gotta quit now. Gotta love the haters 🤣. Great vid man, very informative.

Fantastic video, I’m sure this scientific approach insulted some some of our favourite burpees 😂 I love that combo of the body builder and kick out. I’ve started doing sets of what I call a 22 count mk2 burpee. It is 1x body builder kick out with a push up followed by 1 x army Ranger style kick out with push up and then repeat to 22 count. It has a beautiful rhythm and a great pump 👍 Still, even my high rep routines are probably only worth 2 digestive biscuits, actually an enlightening and humbling insight that 😮

Great video! I presume the watch was measuring heart rate to get the calorie burn? Yes it makes sense that the more legs are involved over the set period of time, the greater the calorie burn as they are bigger muscles requiring more O2 and therefore more calories burned. However...do not forsake the beloved Navy Seal! In terms of a muscular chest pump, more push ups are going to be involved so it will be more demanding from a strength point of view. So the Navy Seals still have a role to build more strength. I have just posted a double Navy Seals session with a "heels to backside jump". The calorie burn will rocket with a dynamic power requirement from the legs..more O2 required and therefore more calories. Adding a jump I think, is the next level for calorie burn and fitness. Have you ever tried a jump with your routines?
