Which Burpee BURNS The Most Calories?
Ойын-сауық
I conducted a small experiment to figure out which burpee burns the most calories. The experiment centred around a 10 minute EMOM burpee workout

The one pump is for dropping weight fast 💨
Remember, your body is incredibly adaptable. To maximize calorie burn, avoid doing the same thing repeatedly. Mix it up! That's the essence of effective training. 💪🔥
Hmm, I would consider jogging in place and doing the burpee style you like most. Jogging in place, step count can be adjusted to your level. If you're a beginner, you can do many, if you're advanced, you can do as few as 10 or even none. My motto is: It must be fun. I wouldn't do stuff that just is the best in scientific terms if it's a chore.
Amazing discoveres my friend! Tks. Ill inform these datas in my next workout using the 1-pump, I call 6-count. 😂 See you. Have a nice day!

You have a nice day too matev
In my opinion per minute whatever makes you breathe the hardest is probably what burns the most Your breathing rate is dictated by your carbon level in the blood which is a result of energy (ATP) usage Now there is something to be said about being able to do an easier variation of many reps in a row which could mean that you could burn more in total because you can do it longer but per minute your breathing rate is a pretty good indicator
Great insights in this video. Let's take the 1pump to warm up. And then the higher pumps to build muscle.

The entertainment value is through the roof on this one brother👍. Well done as usual! Great content and information about the calorie shredding exercise (dramatic pause), the burpee!
One thing I started to do was split my workouts into EMOM various times throughout the day, I noticed I’d get more volume done for example if I did a 20min EMOM I could only do 5 reps per minute resulting in 100 reps overall but if I did 2 10min EMOM I could do 7 reps per minute resulting in 140 overall. Experiment with this and play with the numbers I was able to get high volume numbers of burpees doing it this way. Higher numbers rather than chasing fatigue and also I was productive throughout the day because my body wasn’t recovering from brutal burpee workouts

The EMOM is a great approach in order to force progression in an intelligent manner for sure
actually the burpee that burns the most calories and gets your cardio going way more is the "conventional" burpee where you perform a on pump and explosively kick your feet underneath right after performing the pushup and jump into the air. These no jump burpees just allow you to go on for longer since they are less fatiguing.
Hey Triple G. "Ginger Glaswegian Giant" Great video. 1 pump are crazy. Been doing 44 years but not to your level. Just getting back into them. I mainly do 50 x 3 pumps rocking chair. Gunnar go for 67 today.
would be interesting to see if the 4 count burns more than the 6 count. when i had to do them due to injury I was out of gas quicker than when doing 6 counts.
@StrongandConditioned
10 ай бұрын
I wanted to do the 4 count however the lack of push up meant that it would be hard to come up with a number to fulfill the controls I set
I add a jump between reps of whatever variation I’m doing. Gives that extra cardio boost and doesn’t really add a lot of time. Usually at the end of the sets my feet are only going a half inch off the ground though haha. I do body builders with a jump as my main go to and it’s pretty efficient. The jumps works the calves a bit extra for me as well. Peace oot

Losing weight is my main objective so I appreciate you conducting this experiment.
great video and thank you very much for all that you share on your channel ! i'm new to burpee practice : what a good way to move and to train ! surely with hardship comes ease. Also i can not see the difference between the 6 count and the one pump.... peace
i definitely thought the gold standard for calorie burning would be good old 6 counts. I guess bodybuilders it is then!

Bear in mind that the controls set will not give a definitive picture in some respects, I feel the kickout and bodybuilder offer more benefits than the others overall. 1 pumps performed at a ferocious pace however reign supreme from a calorie expenditure standpoint. Thank you bro
with the one pump I bet if you did a jump as you got up that would smash extra calories.
I suppose remaining in the calorie deficit, while keeping unbroken on the One pumps and bodybuilders. Higher reps 5 pumps, straight to squats then jumping jacks unbroken is what i done this morning. Just a pool of sweat on the floor that body fat must be going somewhere. Im finding the unbroken is key as much as possible breaking through that mental darkness. Great instructive video thanks.

Haha you actually exhale body fat as opposed to sweating it out. I just found that out recently! Cheers Jonathan
Up the burpees
After seeing this I did 1 rep = 1 pump + 8 count bodybuilder 250 reps = 500 burpees No breaks.
You're doing them all wrong, no jump up or into the burpee!!! lol I am joking of course, I bring it up cos some guy was laughing at me for no jumping. I explained I was doing 6 counts, its a burpee variation, there are many. However he was a martial artist, a gymnast and a trampolinist and knew better so I gotta quit now. Gotta love the haters 🤣. Great vid man, very informative.

Just tell them the jump is weird. That usually shuts them up 😂
Try incorporating a high bar in order to add a jump and pull up to your burpees.
how hard should you hit your abs before begining a rep. I got bruises from hitting them. Don't know if this means im hitting too hard.
Nice video brother. How many and how long are the rests in at 10 min session?
@StrongandConditioned

The rest is dictated by how quickly you finish the designated reps within the minute
After discovering you I have been doing burpees for two months now, up to 4 sets of 25 regular 1 push up burpees totaling 100! May I ask what you do for your back so it keeps up with all the chest strength and posture maintenance? Thanks!

Chin/pull ups. Lots of
Fantastic video, I’m sure this scientific approach insulted some some of our favourite burpees 😂 I love that combo of the body builder and kick out. I’ve started doing sets of what I call a 22 count mk2 burpee. It is 1x body builder kick out with a push up followed by 1 x army Ranger style kick out with push up and then repeat to 22 count. It has a beautiful rhythm and a great pump 👍 Still, even my high rep routines are probably only worth 2 digestive biscuits, actually an enlightening and humbling insight that 😮

So is the bodybuilder burpee the best for accumulating extra volume on the muscles, while also working great for conditioning? If so, it lives up to it's name.

Noob question = whats the difference between a 1 pump and a 6 count?
@StrongandConditioned
10 ай бұрын
A 1 pump requires no vocal counts and the technique is more loose
Great video! I presume the watch was measuring heart rate to get the calorie burn? Yes it makes sense that the more legs are involved over the set period of time, the greater the calorie burn as they are bigger muscles requiring more O2 and therefore more calories burned. However...do not forsake the beloved Navy Seal! In terms of a muscular chest pump, more push ups are going to be involved so it will be more demanding from a strength point of view. So the Navy Seals still have a role to build more strength. I have just posted a double Navy Seals session with a "heels to backside jump". The calorie burn will rocket with a dynamic power requirement from the legs..more O2 required and therefore more calories. Adding a jump I think, is the next level for calorie burn and fitness. Have you ever tried a jump with your routines?

@@StrongandConditioned I like your experiment. If you think about it, when you do the one pump you are doing a complete body exercise on every rep. The standing back up part of the burpee must be what’s burning the calories.
So...what's the point? What's the strength training/conditioning principle did YOU just proved, on The Patio of Pain?
