'West didn't supply weapons to India but to Pakistan dictators': Foreign minister S. Jaishankar

#ThePrintUncut
At a joint press conference with Australia Finance Minister Penny Wong, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said western countries did not provide weapons to India but to Pakistani military dictators for years. Jaishankar defended the use of Russian arms and took a jibe at western nations for choosing dictators as preferred partners.

@Siddharth Sriram They've got our Homiji crashed. Moreover there are doubts of their hands behind what happened to our former pm. That's how they took back for their so called help & in 1971, they even sent their weapons, ships & a/c carrier to support the terroristan & worked in partnership with china on that matter.... They've sanctioned us for having nukes, (infact they're the only country to have used them on another country) which had delayed many of our weapon programs by decades. Even now they're supplying f16 kits to their "friendly terroristan", their senator illlllllhand omar visited PoK and made some noise against us & their envoy to India now followed her to visit PoK & called it AJK.... The list goes on &on... Do you still want them to be taken as great friends in crucial times....

Yes after buying defence imports from the West 😅 so much for Hypocrisy.. AH-64E Apache attack Helicopters, MH-60 R Multi-role Helicopters, P8i Aircrafts for navy, C-17 Globemaster, Harpoon missiles & lightweight torpedoes, M4A1 rifles & M855 5.56mm cartridges, ADS with refurbished radar.. all these were inked from America alone in the last 8 years under Modiji govt .. (the weapons & vehicle supply are tactical and suited for modern warfare) why did the Indian govt buy them then?? Haven't even included what they bought from France, UK, Israel.. wait they are "West" too right? 🤔

@@kalebj7001 West wasn’t doing India a favour - they are selling weapons and India bought them. India went for the best deal and India will buy from whoever offers the best deal. Also You need some understanding of how commerce works - India bought these commodities with its money and that’s the end of the deal. This purchase doesn’t mean west has authority to Bark whatever they want. - Russia and India's relationship is much closer and in fact more than just a deal. So this means India should side with Russia right because they supplied more weapons to India than the west. West in particular are these brats who shows up when they have some benefit in it but Russia sided and showed loyalty to India for a very long time. There are still a lot of people in India who have integrity & loyalty unlike majority of the world. - If India has a relationship with the West, it doesn’t mean the west can influence India's interest or decision like they want. India has its own stance. India has the right to shut the west on their hypocrisies.

@@revanth84 No one does a favour here... Remember Russia sold to China the same S-400 that it's selling to India... Even though it knows both India and China are rivals.. And America sold F-16 to Pakistan while selling Apache attack helicopters to India, knowing well both are rivals. U see it's just all business in the end, whether it's Russia or USA. As long as their self-interest is not jeopardized in selling these to a country they won't mind. They have several clauses on its usage and technology security while selling them. There are no permanent partners in defence reliance, before the Soviets it was the British for india, be it the Hunter MK or Folland Gnat fighter jets.. then the Soviets, the French, etc. Diversification of defence aquisition is key for a country like India. Russia is just another seller in the market today.

Here is an example of two individuals with huge differences of intelligent and political skills. Wong repeated the same scripted answers or pulling shits out of her arse. The other is a wise man from India.
