i think last question and its answers were the soul of the meeting. Because india unlike uk is trying it's best to stay neutral, with keeping in mind the national interest. so india's stand in world now majorly depends upon this issue where her policy of neutrality isn't amusing to west. The reply of elizabeth to this very question is some glimpse of their future policy.

The British while they ruled India had two types of relationship with Russia. While they fought in the Crimea they somehow tried to accommodate Russia with the sole aim of keeping them away from India. Besides depending on Russian arms India has to keep Russia away from the Pakistan, China axis. India cannot afford to antagonise Russia. This is perhaps the defining moment of India's foreign policy. It cannot afford to distance itself from the West.

Speaking from the West all I can say is that the US and UK have both been hegemonic world imperialist powers and they mean to stay so with whatever ruthless, open and covert means they choose. They are in deviousness, experience and imperial ambition of a different order to other powers. They are looters, not to be trusted. China is also under pressure from the US and UK . Ultimately my personal hope is for eventual melting away of national enmities and borders and an end to oligarchy. In the meantime active peacekeeping is the best that can be done.
