Blinken Admires 'Friend Jai' As Indian EAM Gets Savage In Munich; 'I'm Smart Enough...' | Watch

S Jaishankar gave savage responses as he was grilled about India's multipolarity, Russia-India ties while he was seated besides U.S. Secretary Of State Antony Blinken and German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock during a panel discussion at the Munich Security Conference. Jaishankar said that he is smart enough to have multiple options and that people should be admiring him and not criticising him. He also lauded the BRICS and said that it was started in an era where Western dominance was strong. He clarified that India was non-West and not anti-West. Watch.

What a brilliant diplomatic reply by Mr Jai shankar " If I m smart enough to have multiple options, u should be admiring me" This is a one critical shot at US hegemony & expression of India's "strategic autonomy".

Notice how only the west has a problem with other countries being neutral. Since India continues to maintain relations with Russia, the west is upset and the EU is even willing to put sanc-tions, but there have been many times when Modi has talked to Zelensky and agreed for humanitarian aid to Ukraine. But Russia was never upset and never tried to impose sanctions. Shows who wants a true Multipolar world and who want to maintain a hege-mony.

If India puts business before humanity, than the US will be the ONLY one admiring it. India is still living with outdated aspirations, of being business-like and self interest focused, like the US. The world has moved on from this elementary world view.

With the US openly stealing Russian and other countries' assets, it shows that BRICS is a necessary safe haven.

You seem to have a worldview that is not representative of reality. It would absolutely be unfair for the West to ask India to reduce its oil imports to levels below what they were before the war, but India has actively increased its oil purchases from Russia manyfold after it launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The issue is that this cheap excess oil that India is importing would not exist without Western sanctions and Western countries refusing to buy Russian oil. India is directly capitalizing on the war in Ukraine and as a result, India is directly funding Russia's war of conquest of Ukraine.

They are,, " say less and listen more" is the way you know more about the ideas and next steps of opponents. He does gives lot of Info on his subjects and ideas.. in a competitive diplomatic world it's not a great idea to do that.

So well said before me!! What a brilliant diplomatic reply by Mr Jai shankar " If I m smart enough to have multiple options, u should be admiring me" This is a one critical shot at US hegemony & expression of India's "strategic autonomy".

Mr. Jai Shankhar is so intelligent and can articulate the situations in such a precise way.. I'm sure others can do it but demonstrating it live in conferences and tv is something very admirable.
