Watch How Police Stop This Stepmom Murderer From Escaping Their Interrogation Room - Letecia Stauch

Watch What Police Do When Their Top Murder Suspect, Letecia Stauch, decides to escape the interrogation. We’re going to break down psychological interrogation tactics police use to keep their suspect in the interrogation room to get a confession.
Letica Stauch was the Colorado Springs woman who was convicted of murdering her 11-year-old stepson, Gannon, when on January 27, 2020. Two days after this interrogation on February 1st she rented a van, stuffed him in a suitcase, drove 1,367 miles to Florida, and threw the suitcase off a bridge and into the bay. During the trial, she tried to get out of it by bogusly pleading not guilty by reason of insanity claiming that one of her alternate personalities was the one who committed the murder, but the jury didn’t buy it.
At this point here, she was just a person of interest. So, the police asked her to come in for a “voluntarily” interview to hopefully find Gannon. They initially told her that she could leave at any time; however, ever wonder what happens when their number one murder suspect decides to take them up on that offer and just leave the interview? We’re going to break down these odd psychological interrogation secrets used to keep their number one suspect from escaping their interrogation room to find their missing person and get a confession. Now let’s get started.
Now in the comments, why do you think Letecia did it? Let everyone know in the comments below.

Maybe she cannot abide not being the center of attention at all times and probably has an addiction to rage. A child is not only needy and an endless source of resentment and envy but is also a vulnerable target to bear the burnt of the subject's rage. What a ghoul.

dumb enough to think she can fool everyone. Cops and courts deal with the worst and the best people. they usually know guilty from a non guilty. sometimes they get fooled. Thats mostly from tunnel vision.

Literally! About a year ago I took my 2 nieces to the beach. The older one took herself to the bathroom and was gone longer than seemed correct. We went looking for her and couldn't find her. Eventually we found her looking inside a store but that feeling I had for like 10 minutes was the worst feeling ever. Scared, panicked, sick, and I'll bet that feeling gets bigger and worse the longer it goes on. No way you could eat and you definitely wouldn't be thinking you're just going to have a nice lunch with your daughter .

When my kid was little I was at a county building and I looked away from my toddler for a few seconds while speaking to the clerk. I turned around and she was gone. I immediately just walked away mid convo to find her and went searching. When I couldn't find her after a few minutes asking around if anyone has seen her I burst into tears describing her to ppl around. She had wandered off and was in a room near by playing with toys. But those few minutes were pure terror. I was a first time young mom and I was so scared and helpless in that moment. I felt silly afterwards but there's no way I could be chill in this scenario or want to leave or not help investigators. If my child or any child was missing. There was an amber alert in my area a few weeks ago. Unfortunately the child wandered off and drowned. Before the news broke I felt sick all day worrying about this child a few miles away and what our community can do. I don't know this child. But any child I wouldnt be able to have a nice lunch. Finding out the child died the next morning was heart breaking. I am so sorry for the family's loss. I don't know what I would do in their shoes But I didn't have a nice day knowing any child is missing let alone my own.

That was fabulous! I loved the fast flying commentary of what the “interviewers” motives were when interacting with the “interviewee” It’s frustrating when other body language analysts stop the video and explain something pretty simple, at length, replay it, just to stop it and explain it all over again. It makes it feel like the creator/analyst thinks their viewers (subscribers and commenters) are stupid and cannot understand their point. You occasionally will stop and replay in slow motion, in an entertaining manner, but it doesn’t feel like you’re repeating it 5 times as if we are too dumb to understand the concept. Thank you for that!

@Derek Van Schaik detectives handing suspects their business card and saying something like "here's my card, just incase you want to contact me" is a really smart tactic that I'd never picked up on until you mentioned it. I imagine it works really well. In fact, I bet it works so well that it makes the suspect feel like they're not detained or going to get locked up, without them even realising it.

I think she did it because her and Al's marriage was on the rocks and divorce was looming. She thought if Gannon went "missing" it would bring them back together. Also, she HATED Gannon so for her it was a win/win. She didn't expect Al and the police to be onto to her so quickly or at all. She thought Al would defend her and stand by her like he had in previous situations. Al had always defended her against Landen and other people even when she accused Gannon of trying to stab her with a knife. Al put him in therapy. She really thought she could get away with it and that they would be a family again minus poor Gannon. RIP Gannon 🦔 💙

Derek is a right-wing Trumptard - he won’t do a video on Trump. But I agree with you Trump is such a terrible narcissist and liar, there’s a ton of material to make videos on his lying and harming people.

I'm still confused, if she killed him in the house how was she seen on tape leaving with Gannon that morning but not returning home with Gannon?

If I remember right, the police had clarified at the time that they believed he was with her when she returned. He got out on the other side bc she had backed up to the garage, and they saw his movements/shadow under the car. The timeline of when she actually killed him has always been a bit fuzzy to me as well. Was never convinced he made it home either.

I think she did it because she was unhappy with her current life and took it out on Gannon. Also because she’s psychotic. Derek, I hope you cover Shanda Van der Ark and Paul Ferguson who tortured her son and his brother to death. 👍 Thanks for the great work!😊

Hi Derek! Can you do one on Manling Williams? The one who killed her husband and two kids. I knew the husband when i was in my early 20s. Neal was a kind man and his case deserves to be heard to spread awareness of family annihilators. Thanks Derek!
