Trying to START a Wrecked Yamaha R1 with BROKEN Engine Welded by Noob - Part 10

After welding my crankcase and my frame on this wrecked Yamaha R1 4C8, today I want to start the engine! ✌️
And I want to button up a lot of small things all around the bike to finally push on that start button…
Small things like installing the exhaust line with the Yoshimura mufflers, putting the rear sets on, swapping the front brake line, opening the gas tank lock without keys and sand/paint said tank…
But is it going to pay off?

After editing the video it looks easier than when I have my hands greasy and stuck on something I don’t have the tool for 😅

Hi Tristan, how did you get the bike started without a key? Did you replace the locks along with the bikes computer to get immobilizer to work correctly??? Brilliant job, gives us a lot of hope to take on projects with bikes and I like the welding learning curve! 😜

Thanks Terry, I was afraid I couldn’t start it without coding a key but in the US there is no immobilizer on bikes (well most of them). So it’s actually very easy to start…

I didn't put my sprockets and chain so when the engine runs the countershaft spins... No worries I'm putting a brand new chain and sprockets on the next video ✌️
