Love your videos, I just got myself an 02 R1 from salvage and appreciate the help they've presented on what steps I need to take to get it on the street.

i cant believe you can get a clean title for a wrecked bike where you are, here n the uk once a bike is wrecked like that its registered as a write off with different categories forever

Yeah here it can appear to be more loosey goosey, they really want to avoid people to rebuild with stolen parts

I was online looking for a salvaged R1 to rebuild and came across your video. Bought a 1000 at 17 in 01’ and have rebuilt and ridden a ton of bikes since then. Been into youtube since it started and for the life of me, dont know where id be or why I haven’t filmed any of it. I would wave at people recording me from Nokias in miles long interstate wheelies when it was somthing you never see.

Tire kickers from CL lmao they really weren’t taking it too seriously (gd for you!) Those tires do not like all that torque in the cold! Id def have to look into softer tires for that weather. You keep your “cool’ well, i would have left a black mark around that truck like a demon from hell

@@TristanDurandBuilds There's a seller, selling an imported to EU bike from the US. Vin trace on "free of charge" websites says "Branded Salvage Cat 1". Only thing we know is that the bike had crash damage on the left side. Apart from that, no history records or anything. What exactly does "cat 1 salvage branded" mean ..? Bike was listed as totaled. Current state is fully repaired cosmetically looking in showroom condition! Engine wise, who cares... we're mostly concerned about the frame... Would you go ahead buying?

No I would not buy it I never imported a salvage vehicle to Europe but I’ve thought of rebuilding vehicles here and selling them in Europe European countries are very stringent about allowing a foreign vehicle on the road, let alone salvage You’ll have to gather a lot of documents and pay for a lengthy inspection to allow that bike back on the road Of course, I don’t know which country you are from so your own regulations apply, I see some countries buying a lot of US salvage vehicles in auctions for prices that Americans deem too high But those countries are not part of the EU and I can only assume their rules are very lax

Talking about your last paragraph, I'm from one of those countries, but being a part of the EU at the same time! Welcome to Greece haha!!! Here, one can import just the chassis with all paperwork needed, repair the scratches, dents or even tig weld it, use the same type of engine that's "binded" with the specific certificate of conformity, cosmetic refresh and off you go!! :D There's nobody really to inspect... I'll stay away then... especially when there's no trace of what really happened to that poor litre superbike. Subbed I must say, looking forward to more rebuilds like the R1!!

I think that’s the wisest decision Evangelos There is very little recourse if anything isn’t the way it should be when you finally have the bike in your possession when the eBay seller is in the US, and with that kind of lemon you don’t even make lemonade... Stay tuned because other rebuilds (and builds) are coming your way 👍

I’m sitting here kickin myself forgetting the part about my best friend and business partner hitting a telephone pole right in front of me dying instantly then descending into alcoholism then parking my bikes for almost 15 years. Yeah that was it
