As an honorable mention, I'd like to add JF's performance from the WSM finals. He may not have made it to the podium, but his performance with a torn hamstring, especially on the deadlift, was one of the most impressive showings of 2021 to me.

The irony from GL to talk trash about Thors record and not recognizing it at the Deadlift World Championships because he was unable to do it in competition due to covid and then allowing Iron Bibby to do his record outside of competition too because of Covid-Travel-Restrictions just a month later is the most hilarious thing ever. Don't get me wrong, the record is 100% Iron Bibbys and it was 100% the right decision to allow him, but its just hilarious coming from GL. :D

As an Under 80kg guy, I have to say what some of the guys did at Britain’s Strongest Man U80kg were incredible feats of strength The twins Tim & Joe Daglish were amazing in the deadlift, on Tim’s second attempt he pulled 310kg, then his strap slipped, dropped it just as he locked out, then pulled it again completely in phased. He then broke the world record (326kg) on his 3rd attempt. Joe pushed the world record even further to 335kg. Danny Ashcroft breaking the U80kg Dumbell world record & 96.2kg, and I think it was like his 3rd or 4th attempt at that weight. And this was the 5th event. Tim’s stone run & 165kg stone was also unbelievable. I’ve had a good go at picking up that 165kg stone and it was hard to break off the floor when I was fresh, never mind 8 events in. Some great performances in that comp!

Iron Biby is a great guy (I've chatted with him a few times online) but he got two gift down commands this year. This, however, should be no stain on him so much as it should be on the people giving him good lifts on those two presses. Frankly, if strongman is going to put so much emphasis and hype on record breakers, they should also give it some legitimacy by making sure the judging is proper and strict. Honestly, I think they shouldn't be putting this much emphasis on record breakers. They should be an afterthought to the competition.

Iron Bibbys log press did not seem locked out. Left elbow was soft. Axel press was also suspect as he did not control it. This is on the judges/organizers who really wanted those records to go for a better show. Nothing against Bibby, he seems like a great guy and you are going to drop the log/axel when refs gives you a sign.

Latvian and Lithuanian are not slavic languages, but I think you're right about the pronunciation.

Janashia's stones at the Shaw classic deserves a mention, the poor guy could barely walk before the run and still managed to load 4 stones before collapsing

Don't feel guilty about putting Martins #3 in 2021. I put him as #1 after that performance at Rogue. If he stays healthy he's going to continue to dominate in 2022.

I'd like an honorable mention for the goose. To go one on one with Martins, takes some strength!

I don’t believe WSM has came out in the UK yet but 2 moments that would crack the top 10 for me are: Brian Shawn’s keg toss. Tom was running away with the contest. Brian needed it to stay alive and he got it done. The second would be Tom’s Stone run to win. I know Tom has had more impressive stone runs and he is king of the stones. but to hold off Brian’s come back (one of the greatest strongmen ever and not a bad stone lifter himself) to win his first title that is special.

It does feel WSM should be represented somewhere on here. I’d give a nod to Brian’s keg toss or Fingals performance or Tom’s run on the Titans turntable. Also Maxime bag toss at the Shaw classic

Iron Biby is probably my favorite of the year, abs arm locked or not, he did what only the goat could do, abs beating BigZ’s record was unbelievable. I would have said you’re a liar, if I had not seen him do it. I would like to see him compete in strongman now he’s got the records, and not be a guest lifter, but one of the competitors. Thanks for another great video.
