World’s Strongest Man 2022…..?

Спорт

POLISH POWER: Mateusz Kieliszkowski looked like a smart choice to become World's Strongest Man 2020, but injury to his tricep hurt his ability to compete. He has instead set sights on 2022.
His results over the last 2 years have seen him make the podium at all the biggest contests.
But I believe what really sets him apart is his 'banker' events. The events where he is so good he is starting to dominate even the best field of men. Such as Stones, Farmers Walk, Dumbbell and SuperYoke or Car Walk too. This makes him a very hard man to beat.
Need evidence? Then enjoy our selection of "Kieliszkowski Top-10 Performances" we have been blown away by.... Let us know what other performances you would add in to this growing body of evidence that the WSM of 2020 could be Polish again...
Mateusz’s 'greatest moments' take in a number of contests from 2016 Europe's Strongest Man to the World Tour Finals in Manchester in 2019.
4x WSM Brian Shaw recently did a video discussing this very topic - no doubt MK is who sees as his biggest threat to win his 5th title.
Do you think he is the next World’s Strongest Man? Here are his vital statistics:
Mateusz Kieliszkowski (Pol)
Age: 26
Height: 6’ 5” (1.98m)
Weight: 330lb (150kg)

Now for everyone saying his DL is his weakness. Kielich knows that and he works on it last year he improved his DL from 400 to 420kg. So the only way is up. As he dominates most of events Mateusz doesn't need to be the best in deadlift 3-5 place is enough to win overall.

@@dawidniedzwiadek8379 You act like the deadlift isn't such a big deal, but it has cost him titles every time. Remember that even as he improves his deadlift, others are improving there's as well because they see that this is a massive weakness for him thus a chance to score big points. Look at the ASC 2020, 8th place. 10kgs cost him the title because he's so far behind everyone else. He won 4 of the 6 events and still lost, that's truly crazy when you think about it. His saving grace now is that Thor retired, but he still has Tom Stoltman and Martins Licis to overcome. Should be interesting!

The eastern Europeans are incredibly strong. If you go to a hardcore gym anywhere in those countries, you'll see guys lifting monstrous weights on a world-class level. I was in Bosnia-Herzegovina (in the "300" gym in Sarajevo) in 2017 and saw guys doing lifts that were jaw-dropping. I was told that most of them could not afford to go to competitions overseas as wages are depressed there relative to international standards -- and it's a poor country, so the government doesn't support weightlifting - but for a dedicated weightlifter, lifting is its own reward.

Thanks for posting this! I think you're right... Mateusz seems primed and ready to win. He's a Polish workhorse that never stops training. I like to use the analogy of Mateusz being Mr. T and Martins being Rocky in the first fight of Rocky III... Mateusz is working his ass off in rough conditions in Poland year round while Martins is shooting videos, playing games and having fun. Ok, maybe not that bad for Martins... he's an incredibly intelligent champ, training smart and hopefully fully healthy after all that rehab, but that doesn't make for a funny analogy... Just hoping for a great contest with everyone at their best so whomever wins can say they beat everyone at their prime.

I really hope he gets a good marketing team around him because he has got to be one of the most marketable up-and-coming strongmen I mean the man both looks good he's not somebody who mouths off and does anything to be controversial and he's incredibly talented I mean the only thing anybody could ever want more for a room is the fact that he doesn't talk a lot
